Wii Classic Controller Pro White
Awesome For Old Games!
If you want to play NBA Jam, Donkey Kong, Mario All-Stars or any classic games then this controller is for you. Must Own for gamers!
I thought that the classic controller was great.
The classic controller as we know it is fantastic. It helped me in Mario Kart 64 a lot ( I give a lot of the credit to the classic controller). I also used it for Super Mario Bros. 3. I was finally able to get into a few other secret areas for tons of coins, but I couldn't make it past world 3. Therefore I have given the classic controller a 10-star rating. I can't wait to see other classic controllers that other gaming people bought.
this is awesome for the WII! i use it all the time for COD: BLACK OPS and it makes playin so much easier. u can actually do damage with it. its only compatible with certain games though. if u look on the back of a game case u can see if its compatible with it or not. the only bad reviews i saw on hear were people whining that it doesnt work with camecube games even though it says it doesnt work with them on the box, and people complaining cuz their not real gamers and dont know how to hold the controller so they blame it on the layout even though the buttons couldnt be easier to reach. if your a real gamer and you use the wii then get this, and you can go freakin beast on the battle field!
Still doesn't work with Gamecube games.
Which is a functionality they really should have considered including, since that is the biggest complaint among Wii owners. And I don't really see much use for this thing since the original Classics work just fine for what they were made for; Virtual Console Games. Nintendo really needs to get off their "accessory" kick and just make stuff that is all-in-one and doesn't make you buy several other gadgets to have it work. Datel made an aftermarket CC that had the wireless sync stuff already built into it... $ for the pad itself, no need to buy an extra item like a $ Wii-mote for it to connect to. How would it be hard for Nintendo to have done that for the new controller? Having it connect to another piece of equipment ? wireless. The only reason I _MIGHT_ buy this is to use it with the Mayflash Wii Classic to USB PC Adapter (which is Pro compatible). I might get a Pro just for the novelty of it, but not until it's here at U.S. price.
Great! Read this Review!
Before I start this review, let me tell you a little story: I intended on getting the NYKO Wii Wing Classic Controller for 10 bucks new, but GamerStop did not had that in stores. I ended up getting this Nintendo Classic Controller Pro for 15 bucks used. SO ON WITH THE REVIEW: This controller works great. You plug it into your Wii Remote, so it is wireless without using anymore batteries. I really like the design. It is kind of like an XBox 360 controller. I guess to be more precise, it is more of a cross of a 360 controller and a PS3 controller. The device works great with classic virtual console games. Before I had to use my gamecube controllers, but with this I can keep all my gamecube controllers by my GameCube. Also, this is wireless besides the small cord attached to the Wii Remote. Third, I love the design. It works great for SNES and N64 games, such as Super Mario kart, Paper Mario, and Super Smash. Also, the Wii retail games that use this work great. Playing NBA 2K11 for the Wii is much easier with this controller. It plays just like the XBox version, the only difference being the A and B buttons being switched, and the X and Y being switched too (this lead to me pressing the wrong buttons because I am used to the 360 controller layout). Other games that use this are NHL 2K10, NHL 2K11, NBA 2K11, Goldeneye 007, Call of Duty Black Ops, Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Brawl, and much more. I don't use it with all the games though. I still play Mario Kart with the Wii Remote on its side, I still play NHL with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, and I still play Brawl with the Gamecube Controller. But it makes a lot of games easier, such as shooters like Goldeneye and Black Ops, and NBA 2K11. I highhly suggest this! PROS: Great design, almost wireless, makes games such as Virtual Console games, sport games, and first person shooters much easier. CONS: May be confused because of the differences in the 360 controller, not a lot of games use it. CONCLUSION: If you are looking for a controller to play shooters on, get this. If you want to make NBA 2K11 easier, get this. If you want to enjoy your classic virtual console games, get this. Great product.
Umm... think first?
When they posted this online i got excited thinking I wouldn't have to think if a PS3 would be better because it has buttons and you don't have to move, but this makes it a lot cooler, it looks almost exactly like a PS3 remote, but the thing is that i had a problem with, what about extension cords and wireless remotes? if they could make this wireless, it would be amazing, but I haven't seen such a thing, nor an extension cord for the wired remote. This is a great product and all, but like all great things, there is a flaw in my opinion: Movement past a few feet. I want to have a larger range of motion, and if its wired with no extension cord, obviously limited mobility. The ideas from the wireless Gamecube remote are what im talking about, it was a brilliant idea, now repeat it please? but i think they probably will make something for it, so i encourage you to place a pre-order!
Makes it easy to play black ops for Wii
for those who never played call of duty for Wii, on Black ops you play with classic controller so it could be easy to play the game.
Classic Controller Pro
If I could write a review with just one word, it would be: AWESOME. This thing has a great design, great functionality, and it is perfect for those who want a more typical approach to their Wii games. Three things it's great for: shooting games, racing games, and sports games.
This thing works for about every game on the Virtual Console. That's great, because I love this thing. It also works with some modern games, such as Mario Kart Wii and Conduit 2.
However, there is one setback: it gets dirty. I found this out on the first day I had it. We had just finished eating spaghetti and well... you can guess what happened. Left analogue stick was orange, and the rubbery stuff on there makes stains IMPOSSIBLE to get off. I t did go away a fraction so that it is just yellow, but still. Also, fingerprints are very obvious on this thing. Thankfully, those come off easily. I got my friend a black one, which doesn't stain, but fingerprints are even more obvious.
I also had one other problem. While I'm playing Mario Kart 64 from the VC (which I highly recommend downloading) the A button stopped working for about 2 seconds. It hasn't happened often, but it might be that if you hold it down for several minutes it will momentarily stop working. It's not a huge problem.
I would say buy the black one, but this one is awesome too and it works well. Cheerio!
I bought super mario world on the wii channel and needed a classic remote and I bought this one at a game stop store it works great. No complaints at all, if you download games off wii channel please buy this remote in advance.
Bought this controller to play virtual console games and i got to say it is very comfortable and makes playing game more enjoyable to the old school gamer. The only downside to the white version is that it gets dirty kinda fast and when you clean it never returns to it's original color.
