Rated 10 out of 10 by denimdenimdenim Best LoZ Game Ever Created
I am a Nintendo fanatic and have been a fan of the company since my first system, the SNES. One thing that all Legend of Zelda titles should have is an open world, which is what every installment in the main series (and Tingle's spin-off) has been able to produce for us. That being said, while in most of the installments the areas you traversed were land, in this game the only land you find is on the islands you sail to. The one downside of this fact is that it feels as if there isn't as much open space and a lot of empty waters. It would seem that way at first, but then the dungeons come into play. Each and every dungeon in this game is fantastic and visually beautiful. The dungeons become harder and harder as the game progresses making the open world seem "open". Another element every main line Zelda game needs is a plethora of usable items and multiple ways to use them which this installment does well. The selling point to me, and many others is the art style. While many prefer the dark and realistic 3D Zelda titles over all others, this game has a beauty that can, and should, only be realized in the form of a Zelda game. This HD remake is the optimal way to play Wind Waker as it has been up-scaled for the current generation of gaming and fine-tunes some of the more tedious aspects of the original GameCube version. If you are a true Zelda fan and own a Wii U, you absolutely owe it to yourself to buy this game.
Rated 9 out of 10 by GrizzCrisps A great classic, modernized
This game is one of the best Zelda games ever created, at first when it was announced people were on the fence about it because the graphics looked to cartoony. But after when this game came out it was a masterpiece. Years later and its been redone in HD with a lighting system that is much better than the original. there is also a new hero mode where the game is basically harder. This game also fixes problems from the original version for example sailing in the original version got quite boring but now you can upgrade your sail to 2x the speed to travel the waters and continue on your adventure faster. there is also gyro controls now for some items like the grapple and bow. If you had the original windwaker then you should try out this new HD modernized version, and if you have never played windwaker, whenever you have the time definitely pick up this amazing game.

I finally bought this game for my Wii-U and boy am I having a blast. After about 2 days of playing I can say this is a wonderful game. The world and graphics are bright and vibrant and just makes you love looking around. I personally love the cartoon look that Link has. The story is well written and I have had a ton of fun with as far as I have made it. I can see myself playing this game more than once. Oh, how can I forget about the music, it is beautiful. Definitely buy this game if you are needing a good rpg experience on the Wii-U.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker probably has the most amount of content to sink long and lonely hours into. Which is good. It also had a graphic style that looked beautiful and functioned well on low specs. Also good. So why in the name of the Triumph Forks did Nintendo remake this one?!
I understand Nintendo was doing graphical experiments with their previous Zelda games to see how HD would work for the next title. Seems Wind Waker was the only one that looked significantly different? They must have not have seen that (allegedly) fake HD trailer for Majora's Mask. (I wonder if Nintendo did make that after all as part of their experiments?) Now Nintendo probably won't remake Majora's Mask for at least a few more years. Dang it.
But you know what? I'm still buying Wind Waker on Wii U and I'm going to like it. I'm too much of a die hard fan. Gonna get it. Gonna beat it. Gonna get 100% in my shrimpin' pajamas. AGAIN. Only this time... this time... in HD.

Let me start of by saying i have been playing The Legend of Zelda games since the very first one on NES in 1986! I know A LOT about the series and i've played every one of them. The Wind Waker is easily my favorite in the series! The cell shaded graphics looked amazing then and they still look amazing now over a DECADE later! The controls are perfect, the music... omg the music is ear candy 100%! Some of the best music ever in a video game! The game just pops with style and oozes color! The new lighting looks great and the dungeons are some of the best in the series. Some people didn't like all of the sailing so Nintendo added a new sail that is not only faster than the original but also doesn't require you to change the wind with the wind waker wand! The old quest to recover tingles 7 charts has been nerfed down to 3 charts which is a much welcome change! Buy this game! Play it, love it, CHERISH IT! :D

Windwaker has that place in your heart with the Art and the Music that brings out the emotion you want from a Zelda game. Seeing that they were re-making this title brought joy to my friends and family as well as myself. I cannot stress this enough, this game is worth every penny and is most likely going to be a title that stays with your game collection forever. So stop reading this and go get the game or even the console with the game if you don't have the Wii U....Go on... don't make me take your wallet and buy it for you. That's right get your pants on and those shoes. don't forget your keys and wallet, you know all well that this game is going to be flying off the shelves so you better get it now while its still available.
Anyways I'm picking up my copy as soon as it touches the employee's hands. Now just have to make sure that Nintendo makes an HD version of TLoZ: Majora's Mask.
(MAKE IT SO NINTENDO!!)
Rated 10 out of 10 by Zahl Another 10/10 for Nintendo
I'm getting tired of giving games 10/10 on reviews but it's so hard to when I own all these amazing Nintendo games.
The Wind Waker redefined art in video games. It showed that your game can look bubbly and light like the good old days but still have powerful gameplay that's new in every aspect.
If you're already into the Zelda games and haven't played this, you've missed one of the top 3 big hits. If you haven't played the Zelda games I'd suggest you get to it!
Rated 10 out of 10 by Jakethehuman Proof that oldies are still good
Before I start this review I have to admit I am a die hard Zelda fan. It has always been my favorite game series, so I'm a little biased. This game was originally released for the gamecube, and while it had it's flaws then, that was part of the reason it was so great. With all of the exploring and dungeon crawling that has always made the zelda series what it is, the open seas give you a new outlook on the 1080p cartoony world. Loaded with puzzles, minions of Ganon and the open seas every new places feels different than the previous one. With improvements from the original like the speedy sail to cut sailing times in half and the removal of most of the triforce scrolls, the game has more of a quick, easy and fun feel, than the slow and tediousness of the gamecube original. Regardless if this is your first Zelda game or you're a long time veteran of the series, there's something here for you.
Rated 10 out of 10 by ExperimentGoneWrong One the Most Beautiful and Fun Zelda Games
The Wind Waker HD is just fun and beautiful. The combat is some of the most fun and fluid combat in any of the Zelda games. The ocean is vast with many islands, mini-dungeons, and is just plain fun to explore. The music is fun and just stands out among the Zelda games. The ocean theme just captures the feeling of adventure almost perfectly. The graphics are cartoon-ish but are still beautiful. The colors are bright, vibrant and are just fun to look at. The big downside to the game is that it lacks the lasting appeal other Zelda games have and I didn't feel like I would want to replay it anytime soon. All in all this game is fun and beautiful whether it's the graphics, the music, combat or the exploration. This is the game i'd suggest to you if you are new to the series.
