Product Details:

The Star Fox team arrives on Wii U for a new adventure. Fox, Falco, Peppy and Slippy save the Lylat system in this new deep space dogfighting adventure. Using the Wii U GamePad controller and the TV together creates a unique interface that allows players to experience the game with two different viewpoints within the Arwing - aim and shoot enemies in one direction while flying in another. This frees up the TV for a more cinematic flight experience. Then, pilot the Arwing with its new Walker transformation, along with the new Gyrowing and the Landmaster Tank, to traverse interplanetary terrain.

Test Chamber - Get A Quick Tour Of Star Fox Zero's Galaxy

by Jeff Cork

Star Fox Zero sees the return of Fox, Slippy, Peppy, Falco, and a host of other familiar (and often furry) faces. Kyle Hilliard joined me as I took a quick tour of several of the game's levels and we were reminded that Slippy should be permanently grounded.

The game supports co-op, which I wrote about, but Kyle didn't join me for this flight. Instead, he did his best to keep the conversation going while I focused on taking out Andross' forces. Watch the clip below to see the Arwing, Gyrocopter, Walker, and more in action. Good luck!

An Epic Battle to Save the Universe

An evil force is marching across the universe and the only thing standing in its way is the Star Fox team. Can this group of ragtag star pilots stop Andross and his plans for galactic domination?

It Was Only 5 Years Ago

James McCloud, Pigma Dengar, and Peppy Hare of the Star Fox team were sent on a mission to the planet Venom, where a twisted scientist, Andross, had been exiled years earlier. Upon their arrival, Pigma betrayed the team. Peppy barely escaped but James was never heard from again.

Now Andross Has Returned

The evil, power-hungry Andross is back, marching his fearsome forces across the galaxy. General Pepper now turns to a new Star Fox team, lead by James McCloud's son, Fox McCloud, to save the Lylat System and defeat Andross once and for all.

Team Star Fox

A legendary team of adventurers-for-hire that has often defended the Lylat System in times of peril. Founded by James McCloud, the leadership passed to his son, Fox, after his apparent death.

Fox McCloud

Leader of an elite fighter squadron established by his father, exCornerian flying ace James McCloud. He's a top-notch Arwing pilot, and his sharpshooting skills are unmatched.

Falco Lombardi

A hotshot flyboy who's got your back when the going gets tough. He can seem a bit arrogant at times, but his keen eye often helps the Star Fox team stay on track.

Peppy Hare

James McCloud's old wingman. A seasoned pro and the glue that holds the team together, Peppy gives battle advice and tactical tips to the rest of the Star Fox team and is a noted expert in Barrel Roll maneuvers.

Slippy Toad

A close friend and a gifted mechanic, Slippy is an essential but inexperienced member of the team. He has a knack for getting himself in trouble but provides vital shield gauge intel in battle.

The Mastermind Andross

Exiled to the desolate planet Venom, the twisted scientist Andross is now using the planet as his base of operations to launch an attack on the entire Lylat system.

Team Star Wolf

A fearsome foursome of mercenary pilots who have been recruited by Andross to stop the Star Fox team by any means necessary.

Wolf O'Donnell

The leader of Star Wolf and archrival of Fox McCloud.

Pigma Dengar

Disgraced former member of Team Star Fox who betrayed James McCloud.

Leon Powalski

Notorious space pilot and reported rival of Falco Lombardi.

Andrew Oikonny

Nephew of Andross and presumed successor to his evil empire.

Barrel Into Adventure

General Pepper needs your help! Master your craft, defy the odds, and earn your face-to-face meeting with Andross. Only you can restore peace to the galaxy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ignore the bad reviews. This game was actually pretty good. Personally i don't see why there is so much hate on this game, it's not terrible in the least. Everyone was expecting a true successor to the series favorite SF64 or continuing the story line after Assult/Command, and were not open minded to what they were doing with this one. I enjoyed this one just as much as the others, although i do wish they would continue with the storyline instead of messing around and branching off. But overall, very good. Has bits of Star Fox 2 and 64 mixed in together that i really enjoyed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awsome This game is awesome. i have been waiting forever for a new star fox game and it was worth the wait. Yes, the control scheme is hard to figure out but its also pretty ingenious. I haven't seen such impressive boss fights in forever. Plus you can fight all the members of star wolf individually, all of them with upgraded powers. The only thing i find wrong with this game is the annoying mini game where you hack into computers. If it wasn't for this mini game, then this game would be perfect. The only reason people online are hating on it is because they wont give the control scheme a try. If your a star fox fan you need to get this game.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's good game, but... Star Fox Zero is a good game, but the motion controls held me back from actually enjoying it. You don't have the option to turn off the motion controls completely and there is no support for the Wii U Pro Controller aside from co-op play. I stopped playing it after like a week and never went back to it again. I didn't bother touching Star Fox Guard that came with it as a result of this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Game for the Wii U I loved the game and it makes you so immersed with the gameplay that you would want to finish the mission before you turn it off. This game is perfect for creating a sense of nostalgia as the previous game, Star Fox 64, did so. I still continue to play the game and I prefer it more than any other game I have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! When I heard about this game back at E3 I was a bit skeptical. The controls sounded strange and the story was a bit too similar. So I assumed that it would just be meh. I'm so glad I was wrong! I can understand why some struggled with the controls, but I personally got used to them pretty quickly! I love the returning planets long with the new missions! I especially loved the Zoness mission. Then we come to the vehicles. I love the walker! It's fun to use and looks cool too. I had only one issue which was how the hover feature was down on the joystick instead of up. Othe than that it was perfect. I also loved the landmaster and gyrowing. I was disappointed that the blue marine didn't come back, but the gyrowing with the direct-i made it up for me. I would reccomend getting this as soon as possible. For my first console Starfox game I am highly satified!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from True to the predecessors with no major flaws I played Star Fox 64 on my N64 and was surprised at just how close Star Fox Zero was to that game. Levels were kept familiar features while adding new elements to keep things interesting. This was allowed by the new gamepad view controls that expanded gameplay vision. Other new controls such as walker mode were difficult to get used to but had become adept at them by the time I beat my first play-through. Only a couple major complaints I can think of is that the co-op mode was a bit annoying at times. The player without the gamepad was expected to fly but the TV player camera acted like it was still being controlled by the gamepad. This resulted in limited vision when the gamepad player was looked off to the left or right, also it would lock the camera onto an element of the room (such as a boss) sometimes and make it impossible for the non-gamepad player to see or steer around obstacles. Also, there seems to be a complete lack of PvP that I kinda liked for its long term appeal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thrilling Close Calls As soon as I played the first level, I knew I was going to love this game. The game introduces you to a great looking world and allowing you to do so much making the game really fun. The controls are somewhat hard to grasp at first, but you can get used to them pretty quickly. The game introduces a lot of new features, making the game really diverse in what you can do which just makes me love it even more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great game Previously rated this game a 7 or an 8, but now that i am fully acclimated to the controls i had to give it a 10. this has become easily my favorite game. The motion controls and duel screen nature get me so immersed in the game that i actually cant play it for too long at once... because it causes me too much anxiety! i actually get terrified when my landmaster is a hit away from destruction and im facing a gigantic monster of a robot. Amazing game, words cant do it justice.
