Product Details:

Many Super Smash Bros. fans grew up playing Super Smash Bros. Melee for the Nintendo GameCube system, and some will always prefer that system's controller. The Nintendo GameCube controller also could be used in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii. To honor that devoted loyalty to a classic way to play, Nintendo is introducing an adapter that lets up to four original Nintendo GameCube or WaveBird controllers work with Wii U.

*Requires Wii U GameCube Adapter for use on Wii U
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works well I find the GameCube controller to be one of the best feeling controllers. The grip is comfortable and the buttons are in easily accessible places.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Question for controller's owners. Hello! I have the question addressed to Nintendo new GameCube Controller Super Smash Bros. Edition owners. How about two analog triggers in front side of the controller (R and L) that the original gamecube controller has. Does have the analog triggers this one or the triggers are digital, like this implemented in the classic controller pro. While playing the such gamecube games like Super Mario Sunshine the analog buttons are necessary. Then You press lightly such analog trigger Mario is splashing while moving around. This is imposible to do with digital "R" trigger that has for example the classic pro controller.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great - But it's not as exact as they say Contrary to what everyone says, this is not exactly the same as the original GC controller. It is functionally the same, but there is some minor differences in plastic. The controller as a whole uses a more "rough" plastic, which is IMO much less comfortable than the original. The C-Stick is also more rough than the original, but my original controller is a bit worn, and that may be why it's less rough. Other than this, it's the same controller we know and love. If you already own a GC controller which is in good condition, I wouldn't recommend buying this unless you need the extra cord length. (3 feet longer)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from *Requires Wii U GameCube Adapter for use on Wii U For anyone considering buying this, please note the above. Yes, it's marked in the product description. Unfortunately, the Wii U to gamecube controller adapters are extremely difficult to get right now, and this controller does not work at all for the Wii U without one, despite having Wii U marked on the box. Other than this inconvenience, the product's design is great; it's a quality gamecube controller. It's just not a Wii U controller, despite the labeling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Original GameCube Controller replacement For all of you who grew up in the 2000's and played the GameCube growing up, this controller is everything you remember it to be. For some it's awkward, others nostalgia, and for a few it's a way of life (Smash). However it's no denying this is a quality GameCube controller that is OEM/first party. The controller is a reprint essentially with a Smash Logo instead of the Nintendo GameCube brand, and was released for returning Smash players who grew up on Melee/Brawl/Project M with the GameCube controller along side the ever popular GameCube controller adapter for the Wii U. The controller is arguably one of the most preferred way to play smash (Face buttons fit well for the game, C-Stick/Smash Stick, 3 Shoulder buttons, and Wired), however other ways are viable as well. It's all preference in the end. The cord is also actually longer than US original GameCube controllers (Around 6') and similar to Japan GameCube controller length (Around 9'~10'). The controller WILL work on a First Generation Wii (One with built in GameCube controller ports) and GameCube system as well. I was able to play Melee just fine on my Wii with my tests. Yes $30 is a bit for a 10+ year old controller, but it beats second hand/used due to the risk of possible faults. So if you need a new GameCube controller, don't hesitate.
