Just like any other Super Mario fan would, I got excited when I found this. I just had to have it for my Wii U system, and it does look great after I applied the skins to my controllers. Even though the picture of this product shows the skins on white Wii U controllers, I can say that they look just as good on the black model controllers which is the model I own.
First thing I want to get out of the way is the reason why I didn't review this a perfect score, and it's because of the screen filter for the Wii U gamepad. When I tried to apply it on, it just didn't stick on like other screen filters I have used before, and I made extra sure that I was applying the correct side of the filter on the screen. However, neither side was sticking on and it just didn't work altogether, and before I knew it, I had scattered fingerprints all over the filter on both sides and I just gave up on it and threw it out instead. Luckily I had a couple screen filters left from a previous purchase which worked 100% better.
So moving on, the skins are very effective and really sticky, which is a good thing considering you want a skin to last some time on your controller, and this thing won't come off without a lot of effort. It would just frustrate me a little while I was trying to apply it because I would sometimes get little air pockets under the skin so I would have to carefully peel it off without too much strain because it looked like it would get a little damaged if I pulled too hard or stretched the skin too much and would tear, and then try again and be a little more precise with the process, which took me about 5-10 minutes to put on the skins on the Wii U gamepad (which is 1 set of skins divided into 4 sections for the gamepad). The Wiimote skins are, thankfully, much easier to apply and go on with hardly any fuss and are perfect fits for the remotes.
All in all, after getting the skins on, I was really satisfied with the way they looked on my controllers. If only the screen filter for the gamepad worked more effectively, I would've rated this product a perfect score. Nevertheless, I do recommend this to other Super Mario fans! Just be sure to have back-up screen filters just in case.
