Rated 10 out of 10 by GameStopMom PowerUp Rewards: Our Best-Spent $15 EVERY YEAR!
Hey, Everyone! We've been PowerUp Rewards members at Game Stop since long before the PRO Membership even came along -- and it's turned out to be an excellent value, year in-year out. Now, since we upgraded to the PRO Membership, we're even happier! First, the kids get extra cash or credit back when they trade in games and equipment; and they also get extra discounts on almost everything they purchase. That all pays off a lot during those crazed game exchange frenzies that seem to come along (and usually last a month or so, each time), a couple of times every year.... Plus, when their member savings or kickbacks are combined with Game Stop's big seasonal promotions, the kids actually make out like bandits, more times than not!
The rewards POINTS we also earn every time one of the kids trades in or buys a game are nothing to sneeze at either. Add in the times we've ponied up for 'big' things like new gaming headsets, both new & refurbished gaming systems along the way, and the occasional, much-coveted new game releaseI I can tell you that our carefully considered larger purchases really made our rewards points positively soar (and I definitely appreciated redeeming the points, later, without having to open my purse, at all)! Then there was the time our hard-wired router connection failed and we suddenly needed a new (and LONG!) ethernet cable -- or it was going to be 'all systems down' at our house, for awhile. At the time, I had no 'unassigned' funds and the fangs were coming out, you can believe me.... Long story-short, our PowerUp Rewards points saved the day; and the fanged monsters turned back into nice (and grateful) kids, when we were able to scoop up a coupon for a FREE 30-ft ethernet cable, using the points in our rewards account. It was a God-send!
Considering the truly staggering costs of games and technology, my parental savings ranging from modest to Max, plus rewards points -- on each and every transaction, all year long -- have really added up, I have NO doubt. that the fairly nominal cost of our PRO Membership has paid for itself several times over, every single year. Now, laid off due to economic circumstances beyond my or my previous employ-
er's control & struggling, like a lot of folks, just to pay rent and basic bills... well, we all know that money is a LOT tighter & 'extras' like expensive electronics and games are a pretty big splurge, these days. That said, I just renewed our PRO Membership with a clear conscience. I am 100% confident it will turn out to be one small extra expenditure that SAVES me money in the long run -- and makes it possible to say 'yes' to my technology hungry hounds more often than I would be able to without it!
NOW, if we could just WIN one of the $500 Game Stop drawings we've been putting in for online -- for more than 5 years.... I know of one home that needs a dieing XBox system replaced -- and a somewhat frightfully under-financed Mom who would be thrilled to finally update her old wii and get a new exercise program or two!
Well, we can dream, right (wink)?!?
In the meantime, we're glad we have the PowerUp Rewards program, at least. Seriously, though: If you have kids who love their games and you're NOT a PowerUp Rewards PRO member, I can not over stress how pleased you'll be with all the year-round benefits you get for less than one quickly-vanishing '20-spot'. Sign up for your PowerUp Rewards PRO Membership, today -- You can thank me for the good advice if you win the drawing!
