Better each day
I realize, after playing the game more, that my main gripe (as seen in my previous review) was unfounded. The "Suspend" feature in the game allows you to save between battles, and I had not realized this before my last review. This game definitely deserves praise, and I apologize for giving the game lower marks and a misleading review. There is a lot of depth to the strategy, and a lot of planning is necessary for each battle. The story is engaging and the characters are interesting. Combat requires a lot of precision timing and good judgement with sacrifices and skill use. After having to play through the same battles several times, it is clear how each move and decision really makes a huge difference. I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes strategy games!

Strategic and fun, but some flaws
I love strategy games, so this was an easy choice for me. There is a lot of depth to the strategy, and a lot of planning is necessary for each battle. The story is engaging and the characters are interesting. Combat requires a lot of precision timing and good judgement with sacrifices and skill use. One thing that really, really frustrates me about the game, though, is that save points are spaced too far between battles. I invested over an hour in 2 battles, but then lost the 3rd, and had to start all over again, several times. I like a good challenge, but I HATE wasting my time--I don't have a ton of time to play games and an archaic save system like this just makes me mad. After several decades of video games, why haven't developers figured out that this doesn't work? I don't mind restarting after one battle, but after 3? Ridiculous. For that, this game loses a few stars from me.

This game is everything i expected it be!
The music is outstanding and the main character has the perfect role. Another thing is that it reminds me of Fire Emblem, if your not a fan of games in that Category then maybe you should look else where. However i love this game its freaking awesome. It keeps me busy and entertained. Finally another great PSP game. It has much more things in this version then the GBA version. Atlus never disappoints me. Disgaea one, two, and three (which i am still playing) are also great games that are from Atlus and Nippon Ichi. They are like one of the best. Well anyways yeah you should check this game out guys. Even if you think it will suck then i suggest renting it first. i doubt your going to want to return the game though ha ha. Thats how freaking awesome this Game is. Thanks Atlus keep it coming

Brings back memories.
It looks like the old OGRE BATTLE games which were completely awesome and almost infinitely customizable; armies, weapons, classes. Definitely love the cartoon characters with the exaggerated weapons/clothing/spells. Hopefully this game can be just as customizable as the OGRE BATTLE series. Definitely got my attention.
