Star Wars Lethal Alliance
A Good PSP Exclusive
Star Wars Lethal Alliance takes place right before Episode 4 A New Hope. Remember in the beginning of Episode 4 when Princess Leia is inputting the Death Star plans into R2-D2? Well this is the game that tells the story of the person who retrieves those plans. You play as Rianna Sarin, a Twi'lek who was a former slave that has been tasked by Princess Leia to steal the plans for the Death Star to see if the Rebel Alliance can gain an upper hand in the fight against the Empire. While on her mission Rianna also seeks to settle a personal vendetta on her former slave owner who (obviously) did her wrong. The "lethal alliance" part comes into play when you meet up with a robot named Zeeo. With Zeeo you can use him as a shield, climb onto him to get access to higher parts of the levels, double team enemies for the kill, and hack into computers to unlock doors and shields. Its a cool concept and it works well for the most part. Other than that Lethal Alliance is pretty much a straight up shooter. Just get from point A to point B and shoot whatever stormtroopers, robots, and scum that stand in your way from obtaining the Death Star plans. Ubisoft should be commended for bringing us a Star Wars game that was specifically built ground up for the PSP. Graphics for Lethal Alliance are very nice, nothing that really pushes the system as far as I can tell, but good nonetheless. Character models are nice with some decent detail, levels have good variety, sound effects and music are great, as well as the voice acting. I also really like the fact that there are cameos by some famous Star Wars characters like Kyle Katarn and (of course) Princess Leia. Star Wars Lethal Alliance is a good buy but this is one case where I would recommend it to only Star Wars fans as they'll appreciate the story and connection to Episode 4, everyone else will just probably see it as a decent/simple shooter. If you don't mind the repetition of just shooting from point A 'till point B, you'll have a cool time with it.
