by omega124 An Okay Addition to the Soul Calibur series
Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny has 28 characters in all. Familiar faces return in this game, like Ivy, Taki, Mitsurugi, and more. There is also a new guy named Dampierre and Kratos from God of War. Broken Desiny is basically a training game, to get familiar with the battles of Soul Calibur. The Character Creation in this game is AMAZING. You can create over 16 characters, male or female, with a large variety of shirts, pants, helmets, etc. There are 5 modes in Broken Destiny. Quick Match, where players are given a list of A.I. players with their titles and stats, and choose to fight them, The Gauntlet, a tutorial mode, Trials, where you choose Trials of Attack, Defense, or Endless Trials and practice with the 3 choices, Versus, similar to Quick Match, except that you play nearby players who are connected through Ad-Hoc, and Training, where you can practice your attacks on other characters in the game. The only problem I have with this game is the lack of modes and lack of story. If you want a game with amazing graphics, great Character Creation, Kratos, or just a fighting game, I'd recommend to get this game.

i LOVE RPG's, Character customization, fighting games, and kick Asphalt special moves, plus awesome graphics. im very nit picky on certain things. First of all the graphics of this game are freaking awesome. the graphics look just as good as final fantasy crisis core maybe even better. the combo moves are great but they dont go into super hard hard moves where you spend like an hour trying to master. there are special moves tho that are pretty cool. theres one thing that kindof bugs me. no button to jump every where, you press guard than up to jump but its not great. ONE THING I HATE ALOT, there is no story line. well there kindof is but definatly not like the old games. its called gauntlet. where you train A LOT and theres somewhat of a story to it. theres quick battles and trials and training. character customization is pretty deep. face, helmet, arms chest, pants, shoes, waist, a whole crap load of colors to chose from plus extras to pimp out your guy. i think its one of the best fighting games on the psp.

YES!! Soul Calibur Broken Destiny is a great fighting game for the Playstation Entertainment System. Well, it's a great game for any system!! It has some pretty cool characters. The cast now includes Kratos from the hit God of War francise. He is one of my favorite guys with his awesome chain blades. ne of my favorite features of the game is chracter custimation. YOU CAN MAKE ANYONE (or thing) YOU WANT!!!! I made a G.I. from World War II, A Santa Claus knockoff, an evil prince, a young strapping hero, a dark hooded fire soldier and a strange traveler! THE COMBINATIONS ARE ENDLESS!!! It's challenge and has an amazing replay value too! The voice overs are OK not the best for some good but not for other. The challenge is good you get to pick to fight someone with little wins and lots of loses or someone with a lot of wins and little loses. All-in-all this is a great game for any fighting fan, Hardcore gamer, casual gamer, or any one looking for a good time!

This game has plenty of action and it has mostly everything I have expected for this game to have. There are new characters such as Kratos the guy from God of Wars. It also has great settings. Plus the great thing that I liked most of all about this game was that you can create your own characters and use them to fight. Every characters have their own special moves which is cool and there are many modes that you can do such as quick match, trials, creation, training, records, options, and the gallery. The thing that I didnt like about it was that it had no storymode. It also had no tournament. But the graphics, interface, and the sound was good but the story line was so-so for me.The styling, functionality and durability was also cool and good. If you dont like games that when a character gets damaged it can get naked then you shouldnt get it but if you like to see characters naked and you like all the things it has this is the right choice for you. So this game is just like Tekken, so if you liked/loved the game Tekken, I would consider you to get this game. I assure you it wont be a waste of money.
Rated 6 out of 10 by ba-zamino Soul calibur 4 part 2
this game all in all feels like soul calibur 4 for psp I mean same characters with the exepction of kratos and crazy awesome hat guy, same levels, and same character creation( plus or minus a few things). Well I guess some things have changed mainly the story as the game will state it has nothing to do with the soul calibur universe, and i'm not saying the soul calibur story is gold but like many long running series I buy it to see what will happen next so its kind of a downer. as far as the gameplay its the same as all the others hit, kick, hit harder, and guard and then they take those and put them into a move list which understanding when you have not played in a while is like trying to read a book if you were blind. so if your like me combat is pretty much button mashing, and unlike the others you cant just sit down with a friend and have some frustrating fun since it's on the psp, but I think thats the one thing that saves this game the psp. The allure is being able to bring soul calibur where ever you go just have some good old generic fun on the run so if your a fan or our desperatly trying to find a familiar and some what good game on the psp get it otherwise dont waste your money.
Rated 3 out of 10 by PS2Pirate Theres no last to the game no modes 0 replay value
when I bought this game I thought i would be just like SC4 minus the graphics, well the gameplay is just like it, the button inputs and moves are about the same for your character for sc4 which is good except for the button response is slow so you can hardly get any hits in. but the main problem is the main menu game modes are awful. There's the "gauntlet" which is basically a " tutorial adventure" which is pointless. there's the game lobby, where you choose an opponent based on there name and personality. and there's character creation... that's about it. theres no death match, team battle, story mode, for your characters, nothing. so if you bought the game for kratos, just send it back.
Rated 6 out of 10 by ItCouldOnlyBeJared AN OKAY GAME IN THE SOULCALIBUR SERIES
This is another good game in the Soulcalibur series. I'm not to happy with the gameplay though. The Gauntlet really stinks. Instead of a free fight, you have to do what the instructor says other whys you fail the 'chapter'. The only way to have a free fight is to go on Quick Match...and you're not even versing a computer. Just somebody online. The good thing is it has a character creator in which you can make 16 characters. So if you get this game, I would make sure you're gonna play it for a ong time before owning it past the return date.

I have been a very active Soul Calibur fan for many years. Now Soul Calibur is offered on the PSP! That's great! Or is it? Soul Calibur is a GREAT fighting game series. To me it beats Tekken hands down. But, some problems with the game I didn't like. First off, There isn't a very large roter there is about 30 characters around that. Which in retrospect isn't bad at all, but for a series running for this time. There should definetly be more. Also, I love the fact that Kratos is playable. He is an awesome video game character. But, for some reason playing him I feel held back probably because when you play God Of War, you should be seeing blood shooting out of them. That just seems kind of weird to me. But it isn't such a bad thing but kind of lowers the character ideal for me. The Unlockables, I have not unlocked any characters & I don't think that you do. But Unlocking characters is one of my favorite parts of the fighting genre. There is no Tournement mode!!! That tore me up. I cannot beleive that there is no Tourny mode. How can there be a fighting game without a Tourny mode? Maybe we will have some improvments if there is a second Soul Calibur released. Overall through all the things I didn't cover about the game (the good things) I would actually reccomend it. It is a great time passer. It is tons of fun (minus the things listed above) And even though the character roster isn't extremely large, they picked most of the good characters from the series.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Leo1Dude Excellent fighting game
If you like action fighting games as well as the Renaissance you should try this game. You can play as many different fighters from different areas in the world. They use weapons like swords, kitanas, axe's, shields, and more. This game is fun to play. I recommend playing Soul Calibur on the big systems like PlayStation 3. Soul Calibur 4 and Soul Calibur 5 are also really good fighting games.

As a hardcore SC fan and player, I can safely assume that this is going to be a HUGE release for the PSP. Already holding a HUGE fanbase, taking the series portable will make this series perfect. The graphics look top notch for the PSP system and from what I've seen, almost all of the previous characters from the title are in this one, meaning the support of a wide range of playing styles. I can't wait for it's release, I've already paid for it! XD
