This game was good ,but it kind of sucks compared to Sonic Rivals 2. So if you want than get if you dislike I'm with you.
My Favorite Sonic game of all time
After my experience with sonic the hedgehog 2006 I lost hope for sonic then this game came out and I love it very much. Buy it very good game!
one of Sonic's best games
i was surprised when this game came out. I thought it was going to be another sonic game were you just get the rings but it was more than that you could also unlock cool people. The game is not very hard because you race people but sometimes it got a little tough like when you race the last person it got a little hard. The game has pretty good graphics like the people look really good but the place's and back round can sometimes look pretty fake. The game is not very long but it is not short it is about average. The story is pretty good i gave it a 8 because you could not really make a story besides that sonic is racing people but it was pretty good for what they did it was better than sonic heros because that games story is terrible because there is none. The controls are great you use your analog stick to turn and you hold down X why you are doing it. The last great thing about this game is that you unlock people like shadow and a new person i never heard of named silver. Another cool thing about this game is that if the person your racing is ahead of you you can press square and hit them and you can go ahead of them. This game is very fun and i recommend it i also recommend it to sonic fans and racing game fans
when i bought this game at first i regreted it., but after i played the game for a while i was hooked.
a ripoff... of sonic R?!
okay, back in the 1990s, we had sonic R, a medicore game that you could beat in 1 day or less. Backbone entertainment decided to make sonic rivals, something similar to Sonic R. It's pretty simple. you have 2 characters racing themselves on different stages togo after Eggman for different reasons. it's pretty fun to collect the 150 cards for suits and stuff, but it could have been better if you had alterate storylines for the characters to prevent the story mode from getting tedious. the graphics are nice, and other than the rival and the powerups, it's pretty much the classic sonic gameplay from the 16-bit genesis games. The music is okay, just wish they had some song made by Jun Senoue or crush 40 in the end credits. too bad you can't play as metal sonic in the story mode. other than that, it's still a good game in my opinion. Do you think Knuckles (the Echidna) is friend or foe?
This game is so fun and this is the only Sonic game on the PSP (other than Sonic Rivals 2.) Anyway this is really good and probably the best Sega portable game ever! The graphics are satisfactory but it won't bug you when you are playing this game. This game is so good that it should be 30$. So get this because it is worth the 17$. And I'm looking foward to Sonic Rivals 2 when I get it.
NICE JOB BACKBONE
When playing Sonic Rivals you should keep in mind that it's not really an action/adventure game but more of a racing game. The point of the game is to stop Robotnik Nega, Robotnik's dimensional counterpart (I really can't stand the name Eggman) with Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles, or Silver and depending on the character you pick you go up against 1 of the other characters who has his own agenda on why they want to take down Robotnik Nega. So it's basically a race/battle to the end of the level or rather finish line. Throughout the levels there are various power ups and also character specific power ups that you can use against your rival while overcoming many obstacles within the stages. It's a nice twist to your regular Sonic game and I think it works out pretty well. I also really like the fact that the game play is strictly 2D but everything has a 3D look to it, sort of like Sonic Rush (DS). Graphics are very nice but for some reason the controls, while not bad by any means, aren't too spot on. Whenever you hit the jump button you tend to jump about a split second later so you have to kind of time your jumps a tad early, otherwise no big deal. The music is also decent but not really upbeat or catchy as other Sonic games. There are also a TON of character cards to unlock which depending on how many and who you unlock, you can put different types of attire on Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles, and Silver. And while yes it doesn't change the gameplay in any way it is a nice little bonus to mess around with. That pretty much sums up the game. Sonic Rivals is a nice addition/spinoff to the overall Sonic series, and a solid Sonic game in its own right.
The game itself was good, and the graphics weren't bad either. But the story line was really confusing and not very good. I haven't played the second Sonic Rivals but even if it is twice the game first one was, the storyline would make as much sense as a screen door on a submarine. But don't get me wrong this is a good game, I would recommend this to anyone who loves sonic and shadow. But I would tell them they have to bare with the game until the end because thats where you get all of the cool skins and other bounus, and the mystery character is finally unlocked. The only thing that I really liked about the game is that the storyline might be bad but it makes you want to get the second one because you want to know the end of the story.Overall it is a good game and I would really recommend it.
Sonic's greatest game!
This is the best sonic game yet to come out! This game is the first game I have ever payed on the Sony P.S.P(Play Station Portable), and I won't have to worry about getting another P.S.P game (other than Sonic Rivals 2) for a while. When I first started playing it I was not able to set down. I beat the entire game as Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, Silver, and Metal Sonic the day after I got the game! I was up until 1:30 A.M playing it.
The next day around supper time I had completed it, and I am still not tired of playing it over and over again. I would recommend this game to any Sonic fans.
