Rated 10 out of 10 by warlord57 Rock Band meets Frequency
At first I didn't think anything about this game when I first heard about it as I did not have a PSP yet. Once I realized they released a bundle pack that came with this game I decided to get it. The game play reminds me of Frequency with track switching which is very nice. The track switching adds in some extra challenge since you are playing all instruments. If you want to play just 1 instrument you can with band practice mode which is also quite fun. If you want a real challenge, band survival mode is right for you. In band survival mode all tracks are going all at once and you must switch through them in order to keep from failing. If you are new to games like Frequency then it will take a little bit to get used to pressing the buttons and switching tracks when needed. Only complaint I have is taking the time to unlock all the songs but that is just like the original rock band games so I can live with that. If you like any of the rock band or guitar hero series I would definitely give this game a try.
Rated 10 out of 10 by KiimPiink AMAZINGLY AWESOME!!
Amazingly awesome!! This game is, I think the best game I've played so far in the PSP!! I love how challenging it is and how difficult some songs can be, the song variety is normal, cuz it's a tiny game and 40 some songs are just about good for a small console. I love the graphics, I think it's my favorite part of the game, because as you know you can create your own band, so I created mine and believe it or not, my character as me, looks just like me!! Really!! My sisters, who I added in the band, also look like them! And I think that's awesome! I love Rock and some of my favorite songs are in Rockband Unplugged like "the middle" "miss murder" and (white wedding(part 1) oh and Jackson Five "abc"! how cute!! It's kind of hard, I wont say it's not because the controls may be hard to control, well it was for me. But the point of this review is that is awesome and I dont think I'll change games for a while... ROCKBAND ROCKS!
Rated 9 out of 10 by djagameking So much better than i thought it would be!
When I first got this game, I was pretty sure it would be fun, but I was a little nervous. People said the controls got some taking used to and this was my first rock band game. I had played two other Guitar Hero games but i heard they were really different. My friends were right, it was ten times better. The game is amazing. You can start your own band and go on tour. The controls are a little tough but it has a really easy tutorial that takes about 5 minutes. After that you're on your own. You customize four different members of the band. The members include a bassist, a drummer, a vocalist (also known as a singer), and a guitarist. You go through the song by playing every instrument at once. You play a part of the song called a phrase, and then the instrument plays itself. Then you switch off the a new instrument and do the cycle again. Its really fun and really, really, addicting! i recommend this to almost anyone.

When I first got this game yesterday, I had no idea it was going to be so complex. The game has you playing all four instruments at once. Okay, I think that deserves a better explaination. All the instrument tracks are on the screen at the same time. You must complete strings of notes called Phrases. Each time you complete a Phrase, then the track you just completed that Phrase on temporarily goes blank. You can switch between instrument tracks, except during a Guitar Solo by pressing the L and R buttons. Easy mode only has green and yellow notes to play, so if this sounds confusing, start on that. All the instrument tracks are set up like Guitar and Bass and everything is controled with the normal PSP buttons which are amazingly responsive considering that this is the weirdest idea for a PSP game I've ever heard of. The graphics are really good and the customization factor is almost as good as the console version. All in all, I thought this was quite a pleasant surprise! I'm a fan of the console Rockband, so trust me when I say this is well worth picking up! Long Live Rock N Roll!

This game was my 1st game for my PSP. As I opened it i presumed it would be boring, and dull, as most handheld music games are. When you first start to play the game, the controls are a bit clunky and weird, but as I started it felt more comfortable. I started playing for 5-10 minutes, but it then started to to turn into hours. I was a one man band. You are able to create your own custom band, and tour the world. If you have played the original Rock Bands, you would know what it would be like. The song selection is a bit weird, as I found myself playing some classics, but most of it was songs I have never heard. You switch between each instruments with the triggers, almost as if you are juggling the instruments. You play each segment, then switch then the recent segment continues to play. I would pay every penny for this game for hours upon hours of hardcore rocking out on your PSP.

With the release of guitar hero on tour for the DS i figured that harmonix would find a way to create the incredible rock band series on the go. Thus came Rock Band Unplugged for the PSP. At first i saw it in an issue of game informer and thought, "oh my god, how is this going to work." until i saw a hands on demo of it on X-Play where it actually looked worth a shot. So i picked up my copy june 9 when it came out and from the moment i started the first song i was amazed. The graphics were obviously better than guitar hero on tour but so was the gameplay. it felt much easier to use the buttons than strumming with a pick on a touch screen guitar... ughh. The sound was amazing even without headphones in (not so well with background noise) and the challenge was great, not to easy, not to hard for beginners. I loved the song choice and variety i only hated ABC. Everything is pretty much the same as in rock band for consoles so this is a great choice over guitar hero on tour. The best part is that i played for 6 hours straight i my hands still werent cramping. I hope this helps you make your decision to buy this game.

This is a great game for those wishing to have portable music playing on their psp system. I love the song variety and this game has some pretty good graphics for a handheld device. The game has good controls and a great selection of songs to choose from. Not to mention that you can download other songs off the playstation store to play in your game, which is a bonus. I was so surprised at the the quality of the graphics for this game. They look good and its fun to play. The game is very smooth running and there is no lag when playing. The sound is also very clear and sounds like the real singers. The game has a great selection of songs and the playstation store is always coming out with new songs to download. Though they are not always free it is still fun to download. Overall a great game and a great buy for those wishing to have Rock Band on the psp.
Rated 0 out of 10 by DS HERO AMAZINGLY AWESOME
For about a 3-4 years now I've been playing guitar hero and rock band on 360,wii,and ds, but I have never played it on psp. Yes, I have already pre-ordered the game, and yes I probably will be the first one at my local gamestop when it first comes out,l but I mean really who wouldn't be for this game. I have always thought that the gameplay for rock band has been impressive and hopefully it is not much different on the psp it. The screenshots for the game look pretty awesome and so do the videos. One of the main things that got me to pre-order the game is graphics and the ability to create your own person on the psp. I will admit it is going to be pretty complicated to get used to go from from pressing fret buttons and beating the heck out of drum pads to pressing buttons on a psp, but hey it's good to try something new. So go ahead and pre-order it today.
Rated 1 out of 10 by Negativegamer Worst game ever
Rock band unplugged is the worst game ever made, no Peripherals like guitar hero on tour, no good songs, and you have to switch instruments, why can't you play just one instrument like on the console versions? any ways, this game is a waste of my time. Its not even that challenging, on easy it shows you which buttons to press but after that it does not, but it just gets faster when you put it on a harder difficulty, graphics suck, I mean it looks like my little brother threw up all over my PSP's screen, Controls are dumb, using the face buttons on the PSP? come on... Interface sucks so bad, i don't even want to talk about it, responsiveness is ok, I mean its nothing to celebrate about. Sound is so overrated, I would rather listen to babies cry than this, song list is dumb, i mean come on... Tenacious D?!?!? Pffft they are such a mediocre band.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Elixis A must for Rockband lovers
If anyone loves Rockband on consoles, you will love this game on the PSP. At first i was iffy about playing all 4 instruments at th same time. it seemed complicated. However after playing 2-3 songs you easily get used to it and it becomes easy. The tutorial showing you how is great if it seems confusing at first. The controls seem odd at first, but it's quite easy. I learnt on my own to press down for star power. The sound is great and even better with headphones when needing not to disturb anyone. I love the tracks on this game. Some are challenging and I found myself playing this for hours without putting it down. However the downside is that the songs can get stuck in your head and you will find yourself singing them all night long!!! Really this game is great and I recomend it to any Rockband lovers who want to play on the go!! A++
