I loved the first Patapon game and if you did too believe me you'll love the sequal. Sure there dosent seem to be alot of missions but to me its mainly about finding rare objects like wepons, helmets, irons, etc. The customization of your characters is amazing! That and the fact that theres newer kinds of patapons to add to your army. Sure you can only have a certain number of units out just like the first time (which I wish you could send them all out if you wanted to) But just remember how much you can build there strength up too, so it is possible to have an "ultimate" group. The mini games are really fun as well.... I sometimes actually am finding myself dancing to some of the beats. The storyline is a little confusing in my opinion but some may find it quite interesting. Overall you can easily put over 100 hours in this with how many wepons and rare iteams you can find throughout the whole game, that and the bosses are fun to defeat over and over again. This game is interesting for kids and young adults and I would definatly recommend it.

Even though this game is download only you cannot notice the shorter loading times. The New stages, bosses, weapons, equipment, items, mini games and ways to evolve your troops will have you playing teh game until your battery runs out. difficulty mode changes are there if you are really in tune with your pata tribe. The Hero pon can be customized to your liking by Class(Yumipons, tatepons, etc.), equipment, weapons, and Type(Fumyo, Wanda, Chiku, Mofu, Etc.). and with each class has a special move if you are in fever mode and your in perfect rhythm two to three times you can unleash your heropon's special attack. The multiplayer egg hatching can be played either alone or with up to three friends. But the one who brings the egg can keep the content inside. Overall the story is good and if you haven't played patapon 1 i suggest you go and get it.
Rated 10 out of 10 Pure awesomeness.
This game is FANTASTIC! I could play it till I die, but Patapon 3 is coming out so I won't have to. If Patapon 3 is as good as this, I will be ecstatic. This game is just outstanding! I got it in September/October of 2009, and I've been constantly playing it ever since! I have 125+ hours of gameplay, which proves how addicting this game is. I am a long-time fan of the series, and always will be. The gameplay is absolutely perfect, except some more beats would be nice. I believe Patapon 3 will cover that. As for music/sound, I give this a 10+. I sometimes find myself lagging whilst playing to just listen to the flawless beats. The graphic style is very unique and satisfying. All in all, this game is a masterpiece in every way, and I would TOTALLY recommend it to a friend.

Patapon is awesome. When the first one came out I just couldn't put it down and when I heard it was getting a sequel I was ecstatic. The demo for it really showed off a lot of the sequel's improvements over its predecessor but once I heard that it was not coming as a UMD but as a DL U.S. exclusive for one's PSN account, I felt very betrayed because I have a PSN account but many others don't or more so have no wi-fi for the connection so this is only going to hurt Sony more because many customers like myself aren't going to buy this unless it comes in traditional UMD format. So unless it is changed I'm sorry but I shall not purchase this game. No matter how good and fun it is.

This is the cutest Rhythm Game ive ever played honestly. The lil patapons are cute with there tribe and music. The side games are fun too and super cute. i love the dancing tree and playing the trumpet ahaha and watchin him dance. Creating patapons is so cool and making epic warriors and upgrading em is fun. The sidescrolling experience is super great specially for a game like this. I never played the first one but im glad i got it. The bosses and bad guys are cool too with there lil phrases and along the storyline. This was great and m definitely getting the 3rd one.

I reserved it and played the demo and i have to say that i'm impressed with the new weapons and multiplayer system. But since the game is a downloadable, i have to say that this option should have been available on the psn as a separate since i would have admired the game a lot more on UMD and the memory it will eat up, i already have a 2gb memory stick and half of the memory is being occupied by my music. I would have to upgrade to a 4gb memory stick to play it if the space is not sufficient enough. Overall it will be a very intersting game to play with the reduced loading times.

I have played this game and it is amazing. If you liked the first one you will love this one. The rebuilt Patapon birthing system is just simply amazing, the way that you are now able to level them up to make them stronger. This makes the game more interesting and more enjoyable. And if you are stuck, the "hero play" as i call it is able to boost the items you have by simply playing the bosses again with acquired heroes. If i make this game sound too easy, I am sorry, but it really isn't. I've been playing for a total of 13 hours and I'm not even half way through the games.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Spanky2lj2 Patapon Part 2
Patapon 2 surpasses Patapon in many ways. Following in the first game steps you are the god of the Patapon and must lead the army to the promise land of Earthend. Like the first game you control the actions of your army by combing beats (represented by the X, circle, square and triangle button) into songs. Unlike the first Patapon, this game adds 3 levels of difficult to the game, making it easier to time the beats for those of us who are slightly rhythm impaired (like me). Second it adds several new units to the game, and these include: Toripon (the bird riding patapon), Robopon (patapon with huge fists) and Mahopon (the magician patapon). Third and probably one of the most amazing new features is the Hero. The Hero Patapon can be any of the units you want it to be and it can be changed any time between levels, it’s a nice touch and adds extra power to your army when you reach ‘Fever mode’. The real letdown of the game is the Evolutionary Tree, there’s just too much to it, even as an 18 year old player I found myself a little overwhelmed and never really made use of it. There’s just too much to it for a simple game such as this. Oh, and they still didn’t add in a pause button, but that doesn’t really get to you. Don’t let these two facts get you down, it’s got great game play, plot, mini-games, and even a multiplayer mode. It would be a tragedy for any PSP owner to pass up such a great game.

I was actually interested in this game, but once Sony announced it would be PSN only for the US I was very disappointed. Since your downloading this game your not A) Able to re-sell it/trade it in and B) Gamestop is hurting because most likely making very little off a game like, especially new games versus used games. C) Supporting the actual UMD format, so your pushing Sony to go more and more digitial download only. Very disappointed in Sony and I hope that they release a UMD version down the line, otherwise they just lost another customer.

i could not believe it when i first saw the picture for patapon 2. patapon 1 was the most fun game on the psp that i had ever played. it was fun, but it was also really chaotic in a cool sort of way. i loved the little patapons, they were like walking eyeballs with weapons. this one is going to be so much better, but i don't see how you could improve on anything such as patapon. this game will surely be a great successor to its prequel. those who play patapon 1 will be so excited and ready to continue their journey to discover it! at earth end.
