Rated 8 out of 10 by MMO Player Golfing in Anime style!
This is my first time playing a golf game and when I bought this game thinking the length of the game would be short by just completing the storyline, but i was wrong. There's much to do thatle keep you into the game for awhile. The storyline is quite long and semi hysterical. The learning curve wasn't to steep. What I liked the most was the statistical data the game provided, witch gave me a sense of satisfaction. While playing the game there was some graphical glitches and there was some grammatical errors in the storyline. Even thought there was some cons it didn't hinder the game play and its appeals. I didn't regret buying this game. Pros +Lots of things to Keep You Busy +Statistical Data +Unique Character Design Cons +Poor Grammatical Errors in Storyline +Graphical Glitches with the Floor +The animation sometimes looks awkward.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Chimaera9 More Enjoyable than Hotshots
Of course, the inevitable comparison must be made to Hotshots Golf. Quite honestly, I like Pangya better, and this is because there is more reason to golf than in Hotshots. There is a story mode (unfolding with anime style art, text-only, and un-animated), a license earning mode, a tournament mode, and a practice mode. The story mode progressively unlocks other characters you can use. Another draw for me is that you have an RPG-like system, where you gain experience as you golf, level up, and earn cash you can spend on various items. Clothing and accessory items are always fun for customizing your character, but the game even rewards you with more cash if you wear something new to your next golf game. You can also purchase specialized golf clubs, golf balls, potions (which enhance your strength, accuracy, spin, etc.) and even stat-enhancing rings. As you play and level up, more items are unlocked. Each character has different strengths and weaknesses, too, so you have to adjust your play-style to suit each one. There is even a variety of special techniques that can be used (Backspin, Topspin, "Cobra Shot," and others). Plus, the locations and courses are varied and creative. To me, Pangya is so much more fun than Hotshots because there is a lot of incentive to keep playing. I tired of Hotshots rather quickly, because getting a high score just wasn't reason enough to keep playing.

This is better than the other golf games. There lots of characters you can play with, and you can dress them up and stuff. You can do story mode or free play, and it always gets interesting each time you move to another level. I always get excited when there will be a new character you will play next.

Rated 10 out of 10 by Dougasm A laid back yet highly addictive golf experience.
I had never played a single golf game in my life before buying this game. Nor had I played any kind of golf outside of mini golf and did not know any rules of the game. I saw a launch trailer for this game that really stood out and I wanted to try something different so I took a crack at it. I ended up playing it every minute I had when I wasn't working or sleeping. The story campaign is massive and will take a considerable amount of time to clear. The first few chapters will give a tutorial on the rules and basic controls which will be more than enough to get you through the game. Later on in the game they'll teach you more advanced techniques that while are really useful, aren't a necessity to master unless you're aiming for 100% completion. Even after you complete the story mode there's tournament modes and various challenges for you to compete in so it never gets stale. There's a large selection of golf courses in various distinct locations, each with 18 individual holes and varying difficulties so there's tons of variety. The game uses a very colorful anime theme that's easy on the eyes and music that's very relaxing and never really got repetitive with me. There's a very large selection of characters each with their own stats and they all come with massive amounts of customization options. You can change their clothing, shoes, accessories, head gear, you name it. Most of it has to be purchased or won so it can give you something to strive for. While the clothing options are mainly for aesthetic purposes, you can equip different types of golf clubs, items and golf balls with varying stats to suit your needs. Even those all have they're own unique designs to them. I mean, the amount of detail they put into this game is just astounding. I bought this game roughly three years ago and while I don't play it as much as I did when I first bought it, it's still the first game I'll grab when I know I'm going to be stuck waiting somewhere or going on a long trip. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes fictional type golf games or is just trying to get into a golf game for the first time.
