Nba Live 09's Cover Athelete will be... Tony Parker! Tony Parker has actually been on the cover of France's Nba Live Version since 2005! Other Cover atheletes include Italy's Andrea Bargnani, Spain's Pau Gasol, and Great Britan's Loul Deng. There is also reason to beleive that 09 will have something similar to Madden's superstar mode. New features include Pick and Roll Control, Defensive Lockdown Control, Signature Playcalling, Quickstrike Ankle-Breakers and a super secret feature! Pick and Roll Control basicly lets you play as the ballhandler but also control the screener. Defensive Lockdown control lets you target a specific player or zone that your players will guard pimarilly. Signiture Playcalling is using hand signals to initiate a play specific to 1 team only. Quickstrike ankle-breakers are just very effective cutting moves by the PG. As for the secret I can only guess what it might be. To sum it all up NBA Live is back and better than ever! :-)

This is an excellent game. It has really good graphics. Probably some of the best i've seen for a handheld system. There are lots of addicting game modes. I like fiba word championship and handles. It can get very challenging at times. Especially at first. when I first got it could not win. The controls are very good. They are the same as most basketball games. I'm glad you can freestyle dribble. It doesn't really shake defenders but it is fun. The sound is good but thats hard to mess up. You can hear players shoes squeak. The announcers are annoying sometimes. They say one team will probably lose even if they are down by like six or seven. the player choice is good but I don't really care as long as the Celtic line up is good. Another thing I like is hot spots. I came back from 20 using hot spots to take threes. Over all a GREAT game and i would definitely recommend it.

NBA Live 09 is a pretty good game. The camera angle is poor, the controls are great. The interface is okay. The statistics are great. The challenge is great, too. Graphic-wise, they stink. When I put the UMD in my PSP for the first time, I was like "Wait a second! Who am I?" The sound is average but I HATE the music. Why does it always have to be rap and hip-hop in all these games? Put in some rock or something for God's sake! Team and player variety is amazing! The Slam Dunk Contest in the game is practically IMPOSSIBLE and the Three-Point Contest is really hard! And I still can't believe that in this game, they give the Chicago Bulls (my favorite team) a higher overall than the Cavs, Lakers, Magic, and Celtics. But it's easy to win the NBA Finals with the Suns if you simulate your whole season. I give this game a 7/10.

This is an amazing game! If anybody wondered. For a PSP game this is amazing. It is way better than NBA Live 2008. I would say this is the BEST NBA Live game they have made so far. Especially better than the 2k games. The 2k games have horrible graphics if anybody wondered, also they do have OKC Thunder on the game if anybody wondered. Also, Allen Iverson is still on the Nuggets and Chauncey Billups is still on the Pistons if anybody wondered. Also, they have I think like 17 different Countries on this game which they never had before. It is kind of like the Olympics for the Countries. Also, this game has smooth controls after playing all the NBA Live games this is the best game with controls also. Actually NBA Live 2009 is the best game for anything out of any NBA game they have ever had. I recommend this to everybody. 3 Thumbs Up!
Rated 7 out of 10 by rjweinfeld Good, but disappointing
Well first off, the graphics are terrible, you can not tell who is who except for the last name under him when he has the ball. The controls are good just like every other PSP game. I was really disappointed that it was the exact same thing as NBA Live 08. Except for a few new game modes, NBA Live 08 and NBA Live 09 are exactly the same. The game has no challenge at all, every shot you take goes in. For example, I made 4 3-pointers with Dwight Howard in one game, i beat the FIBA Championship in one day. The only challenge is completing the overall crown, the system that keeps track of your accomplishments. I was really excited that this game had a Slam Dunk Mode, but once i tried it i realized that it was impossible and i could not do one dunk.
Rated 2 out of 10 by chris10911 waste of money
The game it self is much better on PS3, Xbox or PC. On PSP the graphics are terrible cant even tell who is who. All the players look alike. Players have limited moves, dunk and lay-up are the same button leads to disappointing finishes. Commentary get repetitive as expected. Can't edit the players at all. Not even their jersey number or what they are wearing your pretty much stuck with what ever the programers made them wear. The hot spot cold spot maps in the game are misleading, the hot streak cold streaking icons are not accurate and useless. The only three categories the players are put in are normal, star, superstar. Huge disappointment from last years game. The 2K series is definitely better than EA NBA like 09. EASAVE YOUR MONEY!

There is yet another new mode; The FIBA World Championship Mode which features 21 Realistic FIBA teams. You can also take your game online with up to 10 players per tournament or a regular 5 on 5 game with one other person. Bueno Bye!

When I had NBA live 08 about three years ago, I knew that better games would come out so I waited for NBA live 09 and I really liked this game. So If you can't afford NBA Live 10 or NBA 2k11 then get this game because this is a nice backup game.
