Good... For a bit
This game was extremely fun to play, giving 2 rpg's meant more length so that's a plus. But what I can't get over is how hard the game gets and how fast it does so. Anyone could play this and get the hang of it in no time, but you must be an extremely devoted gamer who can give a large amount of time and strategy into it to beat certain parts of it. Asking someone to do that for a hand held is slightly absurd. The save points were wide and far apart considering it's a hand held game it should be for sitting in a waiting room for 10 minutes or something like it but unless you're willing to put your hopes on the psp's battery life by putting it on hold you're not going to get a quick chance to save. Needless to say this could have been better on a home console considering the time and effort put into it. In the end the game is good but you have to put a lot into it.
Great For RPG Players
this is a great game for mostly only rpg players. the battle controles r nice because you get to customize your character's abilities and skills. there r nice save point areas. the story of this game is great but it takes a very long time to understand it.(really confusing) one of the greatest things bout this is the great cutscenes. i think the problem with this game is that only rpg players will like it, and the story is very confusing. I think the greatest and number one thing of this game is the battle system. u get ta do so much like if you have bars of force, u can use it to use a special ability. it tells you who is coming up next in the battle. it shows the weakness of ur opponents, you can kill people in rows and columns with many special abilities, and you can level up differnt abilities of ur characters.
This game is amazing, it has good voice-acting, excellent visuals, interesting story, and intriguing characters. It's one of those games where your trying to unravel the story with the characters. I really admire a story where you can the tale from two points of views. In addition, you don't have to play both of the views to understand the story, the creators made the game unique where you can only play one view and still get the complete story. It's time to dive into a world where your decisions will ultimately determine whether the world is destroyed or saved. I know that the destruction or savior type views is a common cliche in rpg games but this game plays the cliche in a new light that would keep you glued to the play. I couldn't put the game down since I got it. I have to remind myself to take breaks because I really want to complete the story and find out where the adventure will lead. I would recommend playing Levant's part because he is turning out to be a likable character, however you could play Cecille's part as well if your into the whole shoujo, naive cliche girl as well. I preferred the make knight since he seemed to have more of a personality in the game, and it was nice to view things from a different point of view.
is it ever gonna be released?
I've been waiting for this game to come out since its original release date on May 25 only to have it pushed back to the following day. But that day went by and it was again pushed back to June 1 and once again that day went by and it was pushed back again to today with doubtful looks of it coming out. I even went to the stores and they didnt even have it registered in there systems much less knew that it exsisted. I've been excited to play this game ever since i heard about it but is it ever gonna get released? has it been deleted or are they just deciding to irritate us by never releasing it...
Finally a RPG that looks great and feels strong for the PSP. The turn-based combat and clear-cut graphics are just what was needed to make the PSP an even better console. Characters seem enjoyable and the story seems decent. A two for one deal. Also the option of having zero load times between scenes is an extra bonus. Can't wait for my copy to arrive. I advise all you classic RPG fans to look into this game.
Where is my game...
I ordered this game 2 weeks ago and the shipping date was changed last minute to a later time. Waiting patiently for my game to ship. Desperatly want to play its awesome turn based rpg action and spend hours on its narrative storyline. Well indepth characters and fabulous graphics make it one of the best looking rpgs to come out on the psp so far. Hopefully it will come before Christmas.
This game actually looks pretty cool. I don't really play my PSP all that much, but this game and a couple of other RPGs that I want might make me want to play my PSP more. I am definately buying this. The graphics kinda look similar to Final Fantasy III for the DS during gameplay, but I did like Final Fantasy III's graphics. Anyways, this game might be a good thing to consider...
This game has been announced for about a month now, and finally GameStop gets information on it's date and price. About 50-60 hours to beat both story lines, but not much replay value on it. Worth the money, has a battle system similar to Final Fantasy X. Has good voice acting, but the graphics probably could have been a little better on the PSP.
Are you sure?
Do you think this game will be in stock pretty soon? Because I pre-ordered this game a while back, but still didn't get it. I hope it comes out, I really want to play the game so bad. The game has okay graphics, but the story of the game is awsome, the characters of this game are just fantastic. I gotta have this game.
Too easy, too short, but it's fun.
Hexyz Force is one of few RPGs for the PSP. The graphics aren't the greatest, and the storyline is very generic. The game had great controls (since all you had to do was walk around and navigate menus, nothing required elaborate combos). The challenge wasn't very high until the very end of the game, where the last boss or two were significantly stronger than all previous bosses. The customization was good, since you could level up any of the main weapons, and several characters could use multiple weapons. The music may have been the best part of the game, especially the battle/boss themes, and the later dungeon themes. My main problem with this game is the way the items are obtained. You have to make them yourself, which wouldn't have been a problem, but the ingredients required are often rare or are only dropped by a specific enemy, and the game does not tell where to get specific ingredients. This is especially annoying at the end of the game, when you don't have the materials to make decent armor, and all your characters have to fight the last boss with armor obtained halfway through the game. Also, items other than armor or accessories break after a few uses. Another issue was the difficulty. Until the end of the game, battles aren't very hard and only take a few seconds. Many of the main enemies were defeated in less than a minute. A third issue of mine was the length. I was able to finish both stories in about 21 hours. The box says that they both take 20-25 each. After completing both stories, hard mode is unlocked. There was voice acting in this game, but only during battles and animated scenes. The lack of it made the game feel somewhat empty. Overall, it was a decent game, and is one of the best RPGs on the PSP.
