Solid Old School RPG
If you miss classic turn-based RPGs from the 16-bit days then do not hesitate to pick up this game. It has an excellent story and soundtrack, likeable characters, and above average voice acting. My only complaint is that this game does expect you to grind quite a bit to acquire enough gold / skill points to complete the game. However, the interesting skills your characters can acquire helps keep the combat from becoming stale.

Traditional RPG at its Finest
The game consists of everything you'd think a traditional turn based game would be. A solid storyline with humour and voice acting included. You're a recruit at an army base but all hell breaks lose when two mysterious people murder hundreds of soliders, you're quest is to find out who is behind this and why. Graphics are sharp and the on-screen monsters are detailed(albeit look the same, but still no random encounters). Gameplay is traditional, take turns attacking/using skills/magic to defeat your enemy. The game is short, but well worth it for the gameplay and story. There is quite a challenge with this game, you'll be grinding a lot to get through the battles to make up for the shortness of the game, but this doesn't feel like a chore for once really, kinda feels like Tales of ____ mixed with Final Fantasy. Atlus does it once again, definitely a must-buy for any RPG lover.

Wow, definetly a surprise
I took a huge leap of faith here and just bought this one XD I heard that it was all hand drawn and such and I really was like O.o sounds sweet, and its an old school rpg. This game is actually one of the best RPG's I've personally found for PSP, and I haven't found many that I like besides Valkyrie Profile and Disgaea. This game's battle system, music, graphics, customization, everything about it is a surefire must have if you like RPG's. Length wise I've been playing for 6 hrs, and thats been mainly some grinding and the normal story, this game does require grinding in some parts, so if that turns off some I would say don't bother. Its a very amazing game and the story would attract all who love j-rpgs. This game will deffinetly turn a few heads, I didn't expect it to be what it was, but this truly shows you don't a "new rpg battle system" to wow the fans

Best RPG on PSP
To keep it short and sweet, the graphics are the main seller of this game. Hand drawn characters and lush vibrant backgrounds are a refreshing look for an rpg. Personally, I don't really like 2d RPG's in the Age of 3D, but this one is definitely an exception and a delight. The game mechanics are very old school, which is not a bad thing. Battles are straight forward, turn based, with the possibility for personal combos and spells that link with other members of your team. Altho I still don't understand how monsters and animals would keep so much money stored in their fur or scales. Sound is average, music is pretty good, but mostly basic almost midi sounding tracks. The story is basic, 'A great evil is seeking to take over the world' and you must stop it. But the length of the story is very good. I'm almost 40 hours into the game, and it look as though I've barely scratched the surface. I do wish there were more side quests you could do for local NPC's to help with the grinding process. All in all, this is by far the best original RPG I've seen for the PSP, and I would even mark this one higher than FFVII: Crisis Core. It's definitely worth the full price or if you can't afford it, do like I did, find some expendable titles and trade them for credit.

PSP RPG of the year!
Okay before I get flamed on my title (FF XIII: Agito) let me explain how this would be a excellent 2D rpg game for the psp. The North American version would have extra 1000 added voice lines into game. CGS does everything a orginal classic RPG would do, and better. You have the choice of different multiple attacks with your main character or party members.,. you can have up to 4 NPCs in your party to help you fight. The 2D artwork is great!! if anybody is looking for a solid good RPG, with good story line and classic RPG elements (with a twist), GET THIS GAME!!
