Sony PSP System Slim (GameStop Refurbished)
I got this system two years ago and it still works like new. Yes it has a few scratches here and there but it still works fine. I got this PSP around the time it came out, and it was not cheap. $200! I got pretty mad when the PSP 3000 was released with Ghost of Sparta bundle. Not only was the PSP red and black, it also brought Ghost of Sparta, Chains of Olympus, a movie (which I can't say because the website rules it as inappropriate language), a voucher code for a Demios costume for God of War 3, and a 2GB memory Stick! And that for $200. All I got for my $200 was a PSP, a charger, and thats it. I definitely would recommend this but now that the 3000 came out, why not get the newer one? That's like $100 worth of content. Any way, I did buy Ghost of Sparta and I do recommend it. This PSP is good and works fine. It's light (alot lighter than the original) and works fine. I don't like the fact though that it scratches easily, but overall, this is a great product and is must buy for any body.
Best version of psp
This is definetly the best iteration of the psp. It isn't as expensive as the go or the 3000, and it is not nearly as fat or as disfuntional as the 1000. I bought the used Darth Vador version and everthing works like new. The games load faster than the 1000 that I had before and the joystick is more responsive. The only downside to the psp is the main ploblem with all the psps besides the go, Portability. The psp wont fit in a small pocket and is to large if all you want to do listen to music, but the upside is that it has a ridiculesly large screen for watching movies or playing games. Overal this is a great psp for the price and better than the ds because it has a better selection of mature games and movie, and music capabilitys, I hope this helped. BUY A PSP!
I bought the PSP Slim refurbished a few days ago and I was really happy with it. I had been saving up for it for a long time. I was originally going to buy a PS2 or an Ipod, but i decided that this was a good combination and for a good price. I like the different cabibilities of the PSP. You can have music, videos, pictures, and online play, which is better than all the other handheld systems out there. They also have a lot better graphics and games then any other handheld. I gave the design rating a 9 just because it is a little big to fit in a pocket. I also bought Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron with it, and I would reccomend that game to anybody who likes shooters and action games, and especially Star Wars lovers. If you are thinking about which system to buy, go with this one. It works great, and I was really pleased.
Bad Design Concept
I absolutely hate that they put the analog stick on the left side. In most games, you are required to aim with the right side buttons. I just don't understand why Sony did that, but other than that, the PSP is just about amazing. Although, you can't find a decent number of 'good' games. There are a few that are amazing, (i.e. GTA: Vice City Stories, and most of the PSP racing games), but compared to the DS, the PSP doesn't have the best line-up. Sony's games have better quality, and for that, the average game costs 50% more than the average DS game. And the other issue: Price. Yes, the PSP and its games are very pricey, and come with an average price tag of **$ dollars (which is also the average price for most console games). If you are thinking about buying for a Child, go with the DS. More 'Kid-Friendly' games in that direction, and the average game is about **$. It is also much more 'child-proofed', whereas the PSP only takes one drop on concrete to shatter it.
All in how you play.
PSP is an old system so no need to cover to much. Just know that if your looking for the RPG handheld right now it's a tough market between the cutesy sprite based rpg's of DS(i/3D) and the more "graphically heavy" ones of the PSP. Know PSP has some great RPG's available that you can't get anywhere else as well as some fantastic ports and downloads of original PSX games. While you can go buy the original Breath of Fire 4 for $100+ on amazon you could also buy it for $5.99 on the digital store. That alone makes it worth buying for me. Quality and build, this can't compare to the DS build. One drop with this sucker with no hardshell and you can say good night. Buttons have always been responsive for me ( but how many responsive buttons do you need for RPG's?). Screen is bright and beautiful. So just take that into account. Oh yeah and also realize the PS Vita is released in about 4 months as well.
I SCREAM, YOU SCREAM, WE ALL SCREAM FOR PSP!!!!!!!!
Do you have a ds? SELL IT!!! The psp is the best handheld yet!!!!! You already know the graphics are near (sometimes better than) the ps2's and it has a mini analog stick that makes movement and third person shooters a breeze. The system has a nice widescreen display and it kills the ds's puny screen. I think the ds's screen is like 2x2 in inches and psp is like 4.5x3.5 in inches. You can download demos, full length games, videos, themes and more through Playstation Network and download videos and pics and music from your PC (sorry MAC) The only real problem with the psp is its hardware. Most of its games(it has only like 400 games) are terrible. The games I reccomend are FF 2 for RPG fans, Metal Gear Solid Portable ops (and the expansion pack port ops plus!!!) and SOCAM for online multiplayer shooters (fireteam bravo 2)
Definitely the best...
Note: I didn't purchase the Refurbished copy.. but a new copy... Definitely much better than the DS... AND THE DSi. I have used the DS, DSi, PSP, PSP Slim, and the PSP Slim is the best by far! It has a great design, great sound quality but could be a little better... Great for a portable system though... The graphics are truly amazing when even turning on the device... The graphics in the game are flawless! I think Sony should really keep going with this handheld. It's definitely the future of the handheld systems, for sure! I have had no problems with it's functionality or performance... They are both superb! Another Note: If you're reading this during or after the summer... wait for the PSP 4000... I hear it's going to be revolutional! Google the designs for it and you'll see what I'm talking about.
PS3 On The Go!
Its great! Love it and its fast too! It can play good games and PSone Classics. The part i hate though is no built in memory and gamestop is too cheap to supply the card free. Other then that, love it.
the P.S.P is the best hand held system out there with its great screen size movies and videos are awesome although the music isn't all that great still worth it just plug in some earphones and your set the best thing is if your in a WIFI area you can connect check you Facebook,Myspace or just look up some stuff on Google it's great you can connect it to your computer and put all your favorite songs on it or videos and if its upgraded you can read comic books too which i love i definitively recommend one of these system i mean there is almost no down side to it games load fast it has a joystick for 3rd person shooter and other games its the perfect system no doubt.
I bought a psp for the second time, my first one had broke. When i bought the slim i thought i would never get it. I heard that game stop is a rip-off. But it's not. When i got it i was so excited. It worked fine the first time i turned it on. There had only been a few scratches, but besides that it was fine.
