I got this system two years ago and it still works like new. Yes it has a few scratches here and there but it still works fine. I got this PSP around the time it came out, and it was not cheap. $200! I got pretty mad when the PSP 3000 was released with Ghost of Sparta bundle. Not only was the PSP red and black, it also brought Ghost of Sparta, Chains of Olympus, a movie (which I can't say because the website rules it as inappropriate language), a voucher code for a Demios costume for God of War 3, and a 2GB memory Stick! And that for $200. All I got for my $200 was a PSP, a charger, and thats it. I definitely would recommend this but now that the 3000 came out, why not get the newer one? That's like $100 worth of content. Any way, I did buy Ghost of Sparta and I do recommend it. This PSP is good and works fine. It's light (alot lighter than the original) and works fine. I don't like the fact though that it scratches easily, but overall, this is a great product and is must buy for any body.

I absolutely hate that they put the analog stick on the left side. In most games, you are required to aim with the right side buttons. I just don't understand why Sony did that, but other than that, the PSP is just about amazing. Although, you can't find a decent number of 'good' games. There are a few that are amazing, (i.e. GTA: Vice City Stories, and most of the PSP racing games), but compared to the DS, the PSP doesn't have the best line-up. Sony's games have better quality, and for that, the average game costs 50% more than the average DS game. And the other issue: Price. Yes, the PSP and its games are very pricey, and come with an average price tag of **$ dollars (which is also the average price for most console games). If you are thinking about buying for a Child, go with the DS. More 'Kid-Friendly' games in that direction, and the average game is about **$. It is also much more 'child-proofed', whereas the PSP only takes one drop on concrete to shatter it.

This may sound illegal but for people wanting to buy this one just to hack i'm sadly telling you that this one will not let you because of the motherboard. But don't get me wrong this is one the best psp out there no doubt. but the only problem with this one is that it deosn't have a very compact Shell. so if you drop it you could be taking a very high chance at breaking it so yeah you don't want that. But i will tell you one thing this is one of the best systems to play online i love online play it is just amazing. And hey i wil tell you how to set up a wifi right now all you have to do is keep reading. First all you have to do is buy a linksys router follows there most easy instructions and thats it. The only downside to this is you have DSL OR Cable, or ADSL and that is the only way you can get online with a wireless router. is you use dialup it won't work because me dailup companys if any don't have a special Phone line box so that you can share the internet access. So yeah thats how you set up the internet access. Thank you for reading this review.

I got the PSP Madden 09 blue pack for my birthday. Now I have a DS and this wins hands down. I can play games, listen to music, watch videos, look at pictures, and download new games with wi-fi. Now it may be fragile for some, but someone on the assembly line was really paying attention. I dropped it on time and the battery cover came of and won't stay on. No biggy because I tapped it. Net time I was jumping out of the car and it fell out of my pocket from about five feet, fell to the ground, and skidded across the pavement. It works perfectly. I have a few scratches on it but come on. If I had done that to my DS , It would have shatered. Mabey not, but I dont think it would work anymore. Also, if it DOES break, you can take the Memory Card and put it in a new PSP and keep on rocking. I love the system and would buy another one in a heartbeat (if I had enough money, which I don't.). Thank you.

PSP is an old system so no need to cover to much. Just know that if your looking for the RPG handheld right now it's a tough market between the cutesy sprite based rpg's of DS(i/3D) and the more "graphically heavy" ones of the PSP. Know PSP has some great RPG's available that you can't get anywhere else as well as some fantastic ports and downloads of original PSX games. While you can go buy the original Breath of Fire 4 for $100+ on amazon you could also buy it for $5.99 on the digital store. That alone makes it worth buying for me. Quality and build, this can't compare to the DS build. One drop with this sucker with no hardshell and you can say good night. Buttons have always been responsive for me ( but how many responsive buttons do you need for RPG's?). Screen is bright and beautiful. So just take that into account. Oh yeah and also realize the PS Vita is released in about 4 months as well.

I bought the PSP Slim refurbished a few days ago and I was really happy with it. I had been saving up for it for a long time. I was originally going to buy a PS2 or an Ipod, but i decided that this was a good combination and for a good price. I like the different cabibilities of the PSP. You can have music, videos, pictures, and online play, which is better than all the other handheld systems out there. They also have a lot better graphics and games then any other handheld. I gave the design rating a 9 just because it is a little big to fit in a pocket. I also bought Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron with it, and I would reccomend that game to anybody who likes shooters and action games, and especially Star Wars lovers. If you are thinking about which system to buy, go with this one. It works great, and I was really pleased.

Do you have a ds? SELL IT!!! The psp is the best handheld yet!!!!! You already know the graphics are near (sometimes better than) the ps2's and it has a mini analog stick that makes movement and third person shooters a breeze. The system has a nice widescreen display and it kills the ds's puny screen. I think the ds's screen is like 2x2 in inches and psp is like 4.5x3.5 in inches. You can download demos, full length games, videos, themes and more through Playstation Network and download videos and pics and music from your PC (sorry MAC) The only real problem with the psp is its hardware. Most of its games(it has only like 400 games) are terrible. The games I reccomend are FF 2 for RPG fans, Metal Gear Solid Portable ops (and the expansion pack port ops plus!!!) and SOCAM for online multiplayer shooters (fireteam bravo 2)
Rated 10 out of 10 Definitely the best...
Note: I didn't purchase the Refurbished copy.. but a new copy... Definitely much better than the DS... AND THE DSi. I have used the DS, DSi, PSP, PSP Slim, and the PSP Slim is the best by far! It has a great design, great sound quality but could be a little better... Great for a portable system though... The graphics are truly amazing when even turning on the device... The graphics in the game are flawless! I think Sony should really keep going with this handheld. It's definitely the future of the handheld systems, for sure! I have had no problems with it's functionality or performance... They are both superb! Another Note: If you're reading this during or after the summer... wait for the PSP 4000... I hear it's going to be revolutional! Google the designs for it and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Rated 6 out of 10 by Coktailmunky The slim PSP is crappy!!!
I have owned a couple PSP's and I just went to Gamestop tonight and bought my first new generation slim model in black. I am so disappointed! It feels flimsy and poorly built. The original one is so much nicer and heftier. The display on the older one didn't feel as cheap. And the game loading area/door was much nicer. This one feels so cheap and poorly made. Im returning it tomorrow to exchange for a used old model. I honestly don't know what Sony was thinking by making this newer one so cheap and flimsy. Yeah its slimmer, but who cares. Its like trading in a Rolex for an Ironman from target. On top of that it wont fit in the Logitech sound case I bought for it. Im really disgusted and disappointed in Sony. With all the hoopla about how nice the psp is and then they ruin it like this.
Rated 8 out of 10 by Che Le Gordo Definitely the nicest graphics but...
The PSP is a wonderful design for a handheld multimedia system. It has a beautiful screen that can display more than 16 million colors in High Definition, making it one of the best video players out there. It can hold up to 16 gb of music for all the audiophiles out there. There is wifi capability with a decent web browser, and it can play a wide variety of games online and offline. The problem is that the PSP should be first and foremost a game System. With a slightly complex layout game companies have long been giving the PSP the cold shoulder. Don't expect it's game library to rival that of Nintendo's DS any time soon as most handheld developers will put their money in with Nintendo to turn a larger profit from sales. That being said, there is no better time than now to get a PSP. The PSP has a good sized library of games, and quite a few that are a lot of fun. Crisis Core from Square, GTA from rockstar, Star Wars Battlefront From Lucas arts, just to name a few. Where the PSP shines is in it's multimedia offering, and between it and the DS the PSP has more than it can do. So if you are looking for a little bit of everything, go with the PSP today. If you just want games go with the DS.
