Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shortly and brief I thought the game play was very simplistic. It was unfortunately brief and unsatisfying. Typical tomb raider games have a little bit of everything that goes into the game such as intense gameplay with action, some sort of puzzle to make it more of an intellectual game, and a hardcore ending that makes you want to play the next edition. I just don't believe the game achieved any of these things and they made it very unsatisfying to gamers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Fantastic! I can't express just how much I love this game. From the older Laura Croft games on the old consoles to a completely different character and combat, it was brilliantly done. This game however is very intense and I found myself at times almost becoming overwhelmed with how much I was fighting for my life. That is why I think it is perfect for hardcore gamers who enjoy that intense style gaming. Laura Croft is designed very differently in this game than the one we have seen - being very self conscious about her bravery and heart. She is also not very good at running into battle, this takes strategy rather than guns so to speak. I recommend picking up this game and giving yourself such a crazy experience. Will be playing the new one very soon!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2nd time around Ok I played this on the PS3 a couple years back and it was really hard to play for me. So I got rid of it. Now with the PS4 I am giving it another try. I am older and I know now that I can beat any game after beating some of the games I thought I would not ever beat. So I am liking it so far. I think this is a great game to try.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Origin Story Perfected As what other people have said - this is playing a movie. The story is driven, characters display their own unique...character. The game is short with some flaws such as dialogue and conversations need the volume turned up a little bit, but the action needs it turned back down. I love the PS4 controller with mic because you can hear different sounds with it. The good thing about the game is that there is little back travel through the story; however, if you are a collector, you can go back and find the items. Action is tense, action moments even more intense and the story builds to a fantastic finale. The tombs are optional, this is an origin story, and I will put this up there with The Last of Us, just not as emotional engaging as that. Rise of the Tomb Raider will be out soon (continuation from this origin story.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Uncharted-level production values! This remastered Tomb Raider remake honestly rivals the Playstation-exclusive Uncharted games in many departments. The graphics, particularly on this version, are simply stunning. The frame rate is steady and draw distances are fantastic. The gameplay, I would argue, is actually even better than that of its Playstation rival. Combat has a unique flavor because nearly every encounter feels desperate and improvised, yet challenging and fair. Platforming and set pieces will literally make your jaw drop. At several times in this 10 or so hour game I actually asked myself if the developers had an unlimited budget. For instance, there is one section in particular in some underground caves that sports what I'd argue are photo-realistic graphics. Tomb Raider is just so polished that I think this serves as a testament to its quality. The game plays like a charm. Tomb Raider does sport a multiplayer component, but this is one area where it clearly lags behind Uncharted. I played for an hour or two, but balancing issues, questionable map design, and lack of incentives made for a bland experience. My only other issues with the game are that the story and supporting characters are pretty weak and for a game called TOMB RAIDER, you don't get to raid many tombs! The game also takes a supernatural twist, which IS enjoyable, but may irritate some. In summary, this is a gem of a game that every gamer should try. OVERALL: 85/100.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tomb Raider - Welcome to PS4! I enjoyed this chapter of the Lara Croft saga. It was enjoyable and a challenging play...yet not too challenging to make you angry! The storyline is solid...a typical T.R. plot, but it still is entertaining. I enjoyed the environment the most out of anything in the game. There were a lot of areas to explore, and it keeps you sane by providing a pretty good area map. It's worth checking out if you like RPG adventure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Improvements to new-gen Last time I played this was on the Xbox 360 and I liked it a lot. Ever since I bought my PS4, I wanted to try the definitive edition of this game, and it is great and enhanced. The graphics are overwhelming and you can really notice the different between new-gen and last-gen. I found them similar to those in The Last Of Us remastered. Additional content is clearly not the reason to revisit the game, as there is nothing really bright about it. Only things I have noticed are the different costumes Lara can wear in the campaign (which are about 5-6) and you can switch them at any point in the game, and some weapons from Hitman Absolution for the multiplayer. The game has a good narrative, but lip-syncing flaws when Lara isn't speaking on cutscenes. Multiplayer is a little dumb by the way, there isn't any fair rewarding for ascending levels. Overall, the game is good, there's a reason why I revisited it, exploration and gameplay is truly satisfying.
