Well the game is intense, its very scary, and gross. My great cominations, it made the texas chainsaw kids play, and it scares me all the time i have replay it.
Never since Amnesia...
Never since Amnesia: The Dark Descent have I been so involved in a horror game. I had heard Outlast was scary, but the atmosphere in this game exceeded my expectations completely. After you first come in contact with one of the asylum's inhabitants, a desire to "get the f*** out" overwhelms you. The game keeps you on your toes with little to no relief. The only thing that breaks up the suspense is searching for secrets in the game. Documents are spread throughout the environment that provide a background of the asylum for a better understanding of what went down before you arrived. The a.i. in Outlast also impressed me. The enemies are insane, but they are not stupid. I would soon figure out a pattern, but then I would turn around and I would be dead. Outlast is full of unforgiving enemies, puzzling objectives, and danger lurking around just about every corner. This game would get a higher score from me if it wasn't for one reason. All I am going to say about this is..."that ending though..."
Scary but annoying
This game is scary yes. however for the simple fact that your player is a big wuss and cannot attack i hated that aspect of the game. The graphics are ps2 at best but the sound is good. plenty of jump scares and sense of dread walking down corridors. But i hated so much that you couldn't attack this game literally consists of running Infinite sprint btw and hiding under beds or in lockers. There is one enemy that stalks you pretty much throughout the game he is a one hit kill if he catches you and he is pretty much everywhere pretty sure alien isolation borrowed that in their game. But if you are a fan of games where you can't attack all you can do is run and hide and be scared then this is the game for you, you will be scared the game is extremely dark and you all you have is a camcorder with night vision capabilities. however using nv drains your battery which they are scattered throughout the game and you do need them in some parts or you will be in pitch black lost. creepy game but to me since you don't have any ability what so ever to attack i couldn't give it a good rating.
When seeing Outlast for the first time on Youtube, one could say that even then, you'd be scared. But playing it irl, no matter what console, is a horrifying nightmare. When I first played this game, my ballsack receded into my body at the speed of Clint Eastwood. Gamplay was amazing, and it had the feel that you were actually there, despite to forgetful control schematics. And the graphics made me become even more wary of my surroundings, like the sound does as well. If someone tells you to play it with headphones...don't. And for all time, this game will be etched in my heart and mine for how much it scared me.
Great Game Good Price
I love games with a lot of suspense, thrills and chills! This game sure does it for me. This game has a small twist you can only run and hide..I know right :)
THE REASON I BOUGHT MY PS4
Yes you can play this on PC but between this and GTA V next gen I bought ps4 for these games. In my opinion this is better than gta because there is so much to do. It is always a challenge and if you play in the dark with a headset on you definitely will be scared!! 10/10 You wont regret your purchase!
NOT FOR KIDS but great for adults who like horror
I really like this game. I did have a hard time hearing some of the dialogue even after I turned up the volume on my TV. Some points in the game there is just too much background noise to understand the dialogue; however, I was still able to follow the story line. I play a lot of video games so I was able to complete the game in a few hours. I would definitely play it again though. It was worth the 20 bucks for it.
The graphics were amazing!!!
Great game for price!
This game could easily be $50-$60, that's how good it is. An awesome story, great sound, and awesome graphics. This is a must buy. It is very scary though.
One of the most intense horror games ive ever play
when i first got to the asylum i was scared just by haring all the sounds that were in the halls and seeing all the shadows run past overall its the perfect game for people who love a good scare i would recommend turn out all the lights and turn on the surround sound and prepare for a scare !
Scary and good game. The trill keeps you going and going. It does get a bit the same as you go on, but still enough to keep you going to discover what lies in the end.
