A true baseball player here, stepping into the single A. This game is by most the realistic baseball game I ever played on next gen game console. MLB The Show always made the beat baseball game and now playing it on the ps4 puts the icing on the cake. I am satisfied. I am currently speechless right now. MUST HAVE FOR TRUE BASEBALL PLAYERS!!!
Rated 5 out of 10 by ShawnyShawn GREAT GRAPHICS,THATS ABOUT IT
The graphics are indeed nothing short of amazing but this game is useless for those who love to play online. You will wait for this game to load for minutes (if it loads at all). As of yesterday, I had to keep trying and trying just to get into an online game. Just setting your lineup in the dynasty part of the game for online play took forever as adjusting each player and waiting for it to load was just ridicoulus! When in game, it is laggy. Atleast online!!!!! Playing offline is great. graphics, gameplay, just all around great! BUTTTTT it still has to load forever before the game even starts. My advice for those curious about this game is to rent it first!!!!! My personal opinion on this game is because 2k is no longer making a baseball game, they slacked off on certain aspects of this game knowing that everybody will buy it because it is not the only baseball game out there. I think I am more upset about this because This game is a HUGE reason that I went to PS4 and gave up my xbox!
Rated 8 out of 10 by Uberguy3535 Great, but two negatives about it.
I love this game. It is a great game and I play it all the time. The graphics are proof that we have finally hit the next gen era, commentary is pretty good, the crowd looks fantastic, and we have updated rosters. But there are two problems I've had with this game. On RTTS, I made a closer who got drafted #1 overall. But sometimes while he is pitching, the game will start to glitch out and the dirt and players will turn black. I'm not really sure what causes this, or if it's just my PS4/TV, but it's really weird and i have only encountered this problem while I'm playing RTTS. The other problem is that while I'm playing online, the game tends to crash. I am 9-3 online right now, and all 3 loses were because I got kicked anywhere between the 1-5 inning. But once again, those are the only two problems. This is a very well made game. The one thing I wish they would bring back is the ability to schedule promotions and upgrade stadium capacity and things along that nature. Thanks, and happy gaming!
Rated 10 out of 10 by SpruseJohnson2 As close to the perfect baseball game as can be.
While everyone is wanting realism in a video game none have made that happen 100%. MLB 14: The Show comes as close as any baseball game has ever come to making that happen. The players movements and looks are almost lifelike. The stadiums including the fans are wonderfully done with almost every detail done down to a tee. The umpires look and act like they should and the addition to how the ball boys and bat boys interact with the play throughout the game makes you feel like you are watching a real game. As for the gameplay, I have been playing baseball video games since the Atari 2600 days and this one by far has the best gameplay of any game ever produced. No pinpoint control for your pitchers and no 80+ home runs for an average player in this game. It looks, feels and plays like a real baseball game. The only thing missing from it is the smell of the stadium, overpriced parking and that loud noisy drunk guy sitting 2 rows behind you.
Rated 3 out of 10 by Jadedmonkey99 Fed up with horrible strikezone
When I first got this game I enjoyed, I thought it looks pretty good on the ps4. I was excited to finally play next generation baseball. But after playing the game for a while I absolutely hate this game. In my 25+ years of gaming I don't think I have ever had a worse experience with a game. The strike zone is a joke, time and time again you throw strikes and they are called balls in key moments. Even setting the umpires to call the "perfect" game you watch strikes being called balls. Both grid boxes on the screen show strike while it's called a ball. This almost always sets up the AI for a score often perfect games are lost as strikes are simply not called. Hitting isn't fun, even with sliders maxed I find 8/10 balls I hit are pop outs or ground outs. Want to sim some games to advance the season, forget about it. The game will routinely bench key players when you sim games w/o any warning that your superstars are not playing because the game thinks they just need a day off. For me I'm done with this series and will not consider buying any more "the show" games.

I pre-ordered this game for my ps4 which we won't get until May. I assuming it will be more in depth and have a bigger movie life feel similar to NBA 2k14 ps4 version. I hoping we can get things for our player like media coverage, cut scenes, endorsements, etc. I also want more realism. If a player gets beamed in the head or anywhere else more injuries should occur. Also a more aggressive AI. I hope the announcers on the game also follow your players stats from year to year or series to series and make mentions of them such as last series he had 4 hrs or last month he batted .298. OR if you are chasing the triple crown title Or when you and a big time pitcher face off in the clutch they really showcase the intensity of the AB. If I am a pitcher and i get out of a jam especially Via K I want to see him PUMPED!!!!. These are the little things that really make a different.
Rated 7 out of 10 by Spion Average, start by giving us a hard copy manual.
MLB the Show 14 has been hyped up for over a month and a half for PS4. After about an hour or so of install time, I was ready to play some ball. Or so I thought. The loading times on this game are horrendous! It takes about a minute or so to play ball. The graphics are really good, as each ballpark is individually rendered to its lifelike counterpart. You can see individual beard hairs. That's alot of detail. The game to me feels like a hardcore sim, although they do have beginner modes to get you into the action. This will include one button throwing and auto fielding. To get the most experience you will have to adapt to the more complicated controls. The learning curve is tough, but the dynamic difficulty will try and make things fair for you while you are learning. I wish the game came with a hard copy manual. I would like to learn how to do different things with my pitcher or batter, but had to constantly pause the action, open up the digital manual, scroll to what I want and resume. A minor complaint but this is geared towards the major baseball simmer and less towards the casual crowd. Id give it a 7/10
Rated 9 out of 10 by Mckintay81 Scratches my itch to play baseball.
This is a very fun an authentic MLB baseball game. I haven't really played a baseball game since MVP baseball was around many years ago. It's my understanding that this is the baseball game to get for the PS4. I mostly play Road To The Show mode which can be very addicting and since you only play when your created player is up to bat or a ball is hit to you in the outfield a game could last between 5 to 10 minutes in that mode. The graphics look next gen for sure. Everything between the players and stadiums looks amazing. My only gripe would be if your impatient like me and want to build up your RTTS character as fast as possible to max him out your going to spend over $60 aside from the $60 you paid for the game. But amazing game besides that go buy it now.......like right now close your web browser get to the store and buy it.

This game on ps4 is supose to be better than all on ps3. This game is a complete joke when it comes to online gaming. Too many glitches they have not fix yet, they keep updting stuff and roster but never fix the real problems. Sometimes game glitches and you have to disconect and you get the loss. Sometimes when you pitching the batter does not see the pitch untill its called a strike or ball. Horrible Horrible online gaming experience man, i get mad at this game all the time when playing online. PS3 has a better online experience than ps4. All ps4 has is better graphics thats it. but come on this is supose to be better than ps3 and is a joke..it is slow on the home screen. i play call of duty and MLB and on both games i have had bad online gaming experience, worst than in ps3. give me my money back!

RTTS is by far what keeps this franchise going. There is nothing like getting the chance to live your fantasy of playing professional baseball.
New to this game is that they have revamped the advancement system. You no longer have the goals that keep you going with your manager. Now you can train your player at your own pace. You get called up based on your overall skill and how well you've been doing. Also right before you get drafted you have to choose what part of the country you are from and play in a prospect series game to determine your draft pick projection by the early rounds, middle rounds or late rounds. Not much has changed in the gameplay.
This is definitely one of my favorite games to play!
