Rated 3 out of 5 by from Burning the Candle at Both Ends What it has in look and appeal, J-Star Victory Vs+ mega hyperforce go! fails in keeping the player entertained for very long. While the prospect of bringing together several of Japan's most notable heroes, villains, and just about anything else from the weekly Shonen Jump, it tends to fall flat in gameplay. Every character controls and handles the same, with variations in aesthetic to keep the flashy spectacle of the fight going strong. With that in mind, the gameplay can get rather repetitive fast, and tends to drill at the player's patience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Arcade Fighter While J-stars is a great game the repeating story gets boring after the first 2 or so times. This game is perfect for casually playing with your friends and for quality anime and manga goodness.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good game for anime/manga fans I was so happy when I found out the west was getting J-Stars and it doesn't disappoint. All of my dream matches have become a reality- Ichigo vs Kenshin, Aizen vs Shishio, Naruto vs Luffy. One problem I can say there is with the game is the Adventure mode gets REALLY repetitive, so you can lose interest and I suggest playing against a friend or online since the computer is pretty easy to beat. I think only anime fans would like the game, but you may not like that a portion of the characters in the ame are from anime/manga that haven't been released in the west. Still I say give it a try- rent it first.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Another stupid port This game sucks sooooooo bad I don't understand why Japan feels there's no need for anything updated in there ports. First choice of characters are limited you have to play the story to unlock all of em. Second the controls are clunky and a mess, you can't break combos, or do specials you think would be a simply button press no it's combos. You wanna Kamehameha Luffy into a oblivion? Forget about it, it's combos people when have we ever seen any shonen jump character do combos before a special it's inexcusable. There is no one on one matching or 2 on 1 it's all equally balanced, when you wanna rp a certain scene from a jump manga or anime and it won't let you do it, it's very frustrating. All story mode characters is the same, you pick a character and you go do the same thing over and over. Sail here fight guy, unlock guy, repair ship, move on. This is yet another game that attempts to make quick cash by luring in the fanboys and fangirls of these (mostly) beloved series. People are going to say "OH IT'S THE BEST GAME EVER" and similar sentences, yea that's fanboyism. The truth is that this game is so bad and terrible and Japan knew you'd want it for the sentimentality that it has using your favorite Jump characters, but the clunky broken controls, low res graphics, repetative story and gameplay elements make this just another failed attempt at a fighting game worthwhile.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This game is fanservice done right. its not the best fighting game out there but it feels amazing using your favorite anime character and working together with your friends to have some matches online. There is friendly matches and then Ranked matches which are a little more competitive and does have rage quitters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from j stars This game gets a 10 in my book. If u don't like it I know its because you get beat up . When I saw this game was released in Japan I ordered it on amazon for ps3. Then 3 months later I found out it was being released in the US in English. By that time I just bought my ps4 and j-stars was the the first game I bought so i bought this game twice. This game is what anima fans have been waiting for the chance to fight with ur favorite characters from your favorite Anima series.
