The games delivers everything it intended too. I will agree it caters to those who play online alot with friends. But even for solo gamer (myself included), you can gather those friends online if you wish. The environments are rich and massive, and allow for a very immersive experience with the right match. Graphics are great along with the sound. I think allot of people get drawn into the hype which honestly no games lives up to after 50k is spent on marking at a minimum. The game offers exactly what it sought out too. A large hunt, a large environment where your perspective skills are put to the challenge. Cooperative team play is a must to win any match. As for the monster you must know how to move around the environment to stop detection. All of this obviously comes with time, so if you're looking to touch the game and 15 seconds later be great you're in for a let down. It requires time and your rewarded with the effort you put in.
Great game for casual to hardcore gamers!
I've been playing this game for many, many hours on PS4 since its release and I must say this game does not dissappoint. The game is intended for online multiplayer but is equally enjoyable for anyone who doesn't have internet access. I like playing as the Monster class the most, but I equally enjoy playing as any of the four Hunter classes as well. This is a fresh shooter for anyone who is getting tired of games like COD and Battlefield and perfect for anyone like me who grew up to love monsters and like the idea of being the boss battle. I do recommend to create a my2k account to anyone who plays online, because this is what will allow you to particpate in community challenges and use any bonus skins outside of each character's Elite skin (assuming that is important to you). Overall, I highly recommend this game and look forawrd to the additional DLC Hunters and Monsters to come. So the only question is... Work together or be the boss battle?
Fun for a little while, but not much staying power
I had lot of fun playing this game as the monsters for the first 8 hours or so, unlocking each of them and learning their basic strategies. I had a pretty good time for about the next 10-12 hours playing as the hunters, unlocking each of them and learning each of their basic strategies. But, once that was done, I got bored super fast. I'm 23 hours in and I'm pretty much ready to move on. That's just nowhere near enough staying power for a multi-player game these days. It needs more monsters, more hunters, better variety in maps, and more variety in game modes to stay fresh longer. But, unfortunately, you have to pay a considerable sum in order to get more hunters and more monsters($15 per each new monster and $25 for 4 new hunters when they become available). That's just way to expensive, I think, to add on to a game that already feels way too thin. I wanted this one to be a winner, and for a short while it was, but the thrill of the hunt faded waaaay too fast.
We will See
So far I've been playing the game for a week and I have enjoyed the game. I can say that every match is different and how you play is an important part. The concept of the game of playing hide an seek and looking for the monster or hiding as the monster is what interested me in playing. I've heard that if you play with random people you won't do well in this game, which I think is totally untrue. I've played most of my matches with random people and won some and lost some.
The graphics are good, would have been better if the maps were a little different. Most are in the jungle but they did a very good job in detail and the weather changing is a great idea, it changes the way you play.
The sound of the game is great too, I usually use headphones so it sounds amazing, at all the things you hear.
The only problem that I'm still worried about is how long will I be playing this game. The last game I bought was Destiny and that was in September. Still not sure how long I will be playing evolve but I like the game so far.
disappointing to say the least...
I never write reviews. But this game is such a disappointment that I just had to let you guys know. Some of you might find this game fun, most of you wont. there's something about paying full price for half a game that just kills me. And that's exactly what EVOLVE is, half a game. There's no type of campaign what so ever or any kind of creative single player. It's literally you playing 4v1 by yourself or you playing 4v1 with your friends and or you playing 4v1 with strangers and or friends lol. It's very boring And repetitive game play which makes the game feel beyond incomplete. I'm on day two of this game and I'm over it. I've done the same exact thing over and over again for two days now. lol I'm taking this game back to gamestop as soon as I get the chance. And I recommend you guys rent it or play it at a friends house before you buy it because you just might end up disappointed like a good portion of us already are.
It's Not What You Think
The cover may look amazing and you may think this game may be fun. It's not at all. The graphics and the sound are amazing but there is not story line the maps are boring and the characters repeat the same thing constantly. Ugh..........this game puts me to sleep. Don't buy this game.
Medic is not melee...
This game is fun. That's the most important thing about a game; you have to enjoy playing it. I was worried about balance when I first started playing it. I played as the monster and got wrecked. Then I played as a hunter and completely owned the monster with my team mates. I thought that it was broken until my third match. We couldn't find the monster. He was scaring birds and running around in circles. Then out of nowhere, he jumps out of a bush and kills 2 of us. We ran, he followed. We split up and he chased me down and killed me. The support got away. .He was still stage one. He went for stage 2 while 3 of us were down. We landed again as he got stage 3 and he made no pretense of hiding; he just walked right up and decimated us. I've played quite a few games since then and the game is balanced. It doesn't matter what you play, hunters or monster, you are going to have a lot of fun.
Kill it with fire!
And stab it in the throat. After 30 minutes (not even) I realized "where's the story?" This game deserves a shallow grave so that other game comp can come along and scavenge it, ripping it piece to piece. Painting drying had more plot and story line. VERY disappointing and misleading on trailers.
I have waited for this game for a long time. I was up till midnight to play the game and felt like this game was good. I wake up play it for 3 or 4 hours and this game is so boring. Its the 4 day and I've almost unlock everything. This game is so so overhyped. The same thing every game never have I played such a boring game. I also would like to say that this game was not ready to come out. Could of put in some sort of small story but instead all it is it trapping the monster then killing it in the first 5-10 min. If you played the beta then that is all that you need game doesn't provide much more then the beta. Let me also mention that micro transactions are in the game meaning that you can spend your hard earned money on $5 skins that should either already be in the game or in the season pass better off waiting until some polished games come out for next gen consoles.
worst game ever played
By far one of the worst games I ever played in my life. If ur new to this series and think u should give it a try don't its not worth it. The difficulty is beyond hard . balancing is bad. Graphics suck. And its very repetitive. Stay far away from this game
