Product Details:

DYNASTY WARRIORS 8 Empires focuses deeply on the chaotic lives of the warriors as their fateful decisions affect the rise and fall of the nations they bravely fight for. Players can select from 83 unique characters, or create their own original character with a plentitude of options through the edit function. The visual customization goes further with the newly implemented ability to customize their horses, banners and "normal" officers.

In the returning Empire mode, players can select from one of many distinct roles which are best suited to them or to experience the epic history and its outcomes through a different methodology of warfare in replay. Whether choosing from Liu Bei, a provincial ruler forced to wander the land in search of a home or Lu Bu, an egotistical warrior who moves from one betrayal to another in search of his own glory, players are swept up in the drama of warfare.

Courageous warriors trudge through Ancient China with its vast plains, bleak wastelands, narrow ravines and immense castles as they slash through enemy lines. In DYNASTY WARRIORS 8 Empires, warriors must fight against not only enemies but also the forces of nature as the changing seasons bring new elements to the more than 35 battlefields affected by seasons and the passing of time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alsome Game Kool game to have, nice online co-op battle set up, nicely added edit modes to characherts and Animals.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too much of a Fast Gameplay I love dynasty warrior series but this game for some reason the maps feel small I can make it across the map I like 30 -'1 min seconds. Old dynasty warriors it would take that same amount of time to get to 1 base in old dynasty warrior series.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing used to be a fan i used to love empires being able to create your characters your allies and having them respond to you i remember when i played 6 and it was amazing my most disappointing thing for the game would have to be that the company promises the game will be in English with dub and then turns around last minute and changes their mind making the game in sub another thing in this empires is that no real changes were made the customization for the soldiers is so low it is sad character creation has not changed at all few new weapons to use no cool scenes really feels like im buying the same game i think this will be my last dw game i ever buy untill a English one comes out

Rated 4 out of 5 by from With increased depth comes.. Decreased detail? Dynasty Warriors has always been the go to hack and slash for endless hours of fun. The "Empires" series only expanded on that with the ability to go out on your own and seek to unify ancient China under your banner. Dynasty Warriors Empires 8 shines brightest in its strategy options new to the Empire mode. Players must balance a budget, overall empire happiness, and officer moral all while trying to maintain an army capable of warding off or launching your own invasion attempts against other kingdoms. There really is a slew of ways to finish the game from being a free officer, creating a vagabond force, becoming a loyal officer in an established kingdom, or starting your own super power while always having the option to change your mind and run it back from the top. The real problem I have with this game however if the graphics. This game looks bad. Not just bad, but at times awful. I expected a lot better from a current gen DW game and was sorely disappointed. The game suffers everything from occasional frame rate drops to pixelated images. Another game play improvement I had expected with the increase in computing power was the ability of the game to render more units on screen at once. In previous gen versions it was common to kill everything in sight, wait for more troops to spawn, kill everything in sight, repeat while attempting to take an enemy base. While the maps do appear to be much larger and there is clearly more going on than other versions could offer you will still have some moments to yourself while you wait for the game to catch up. Overall, this game is fun. Its not the huge experience I think its fair to expect from a current gen game, but after all it does retail around $10 off most games. Technical issues aside the game still runs and once you get yourself into a scenario, you will be hooked. Just don't let your Xbox/PS4 fan boy friend see it running on your console.
