by Rezor Not worth half the price
I was excited about this game, like everyone else, and then the game was released. After that, my excitement for the game slowly left me. It's practically an MMO. This game is a joke, and an embarrassment to the series. The graphics are okay, but they could have released this game for the PS2. Do not buy this game unless you have money for a new TV, because you'll be throwing your controller at your current one. It won't be out of frustration, it will be out of hatred. You can play as SS4 vegeta, and then get stomped by Raditz.

by foxblade Fun but a pain.
So far this is my favorite dragonball game but it can be a pain sometimes. Especially PQ-47 where goku and gohan do nothing but spam ultimate's making it very hard to beat. Other then that its a very fun game.
Rated 9 out of 10 by TheFancyJoker Awesome Game in a While!
Growing up as a kid, I was attached to the Dragon Ball Z series and the games. After Ultimate Tenkaichi was released, I've lost all hope for the game series. I was very sad until this piece of art showed up on YouTube. Let me just say one thing. This game is possibly the BEST Dragon Ball Z game in a while! The most awesome thing about this is that it has its OWN story line! It's finally great to see Bandai Namaco burst out of its bubble! I was surprised myself! Graphics aren't THAT bad. Sound isn't that irritating unless you're in a parallel quest with many allies going through portals. One thing that's really disappointing is that they skip transformations on a certain character. Also the fact that in early levels that you have to fight 20 different characters and if you lose you have to retry. It's really irritating, especially knowing that this is a game for Teenagers. Other than that, the game is a great! I've enjoyed other old Dragon Ball Z games, but this is the #1 on my list!
Rated 9 out of 10 by SkidRowVagrant Favorite DBZ Game Ever
In terms of enjoyment, this game is way up there with some of my favorites. The only drawback I see to this game is that certain parts of each saga aren't shown or explained. It doesn't take much away from the game, as everything has been tied in very well. It's sort of a nostalgic thing for me; I want to see the whole saga completely rather than just having my character jump into the three or four major fights of the time. All in all, a very solid game and the online connection is great. There are some online connection problems as in all games, but there is some ways to get around it. Customization for characters is a blast and the difficulty of getting certain items or skills keeps the game fun and fresh. In terms of ranking for DBZ games, this definitely beats the Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi games. It dominates over DBZ Sagas (PS2, Xbox, Gamecube) but doesn't even come close to how fun Legacy of Goku II (GBA) was but, then again, nothing ever will :)

The last time I found myself so wrapped up in a video game was almost 15 years ago. I am not generally a fan of fighting games but this game has so much to offer that it gave me a entirely new perspective on the genre. Having already finished up the first 2 DLC's; I am eagerly awaiting the third and hope they release more DLCs beyond that. If a sequel is made I would definitely buy it. Knowing a new Dragon Ball series is about to air in Japan this summer and the game being a home run in my opinion: They will have new material to work with for a sequel or add on more DLCs to this game. The add one just keep renewing the fun. This game gave me a renewed enjoyment in video games. Great game

Personally, I have been a Dragon Ball fan my whole life and own 90% of the games that came out for it. As someone else stated earlier, the really good games were on the PS2 and all of the games that came on the Xbox 360 or PS3 were terrible. I returned all of the games I bought because of how disappointed I was. However, I tried the beta for this game when it was released. It was not like Battle of Z or Ultimate Tenkaichi. The game was immersing and I was only disappointed when the beta time ran out. The game features an amazingly massive online component (from what I've seen so far) and is similar to Grand Theft Auto in a sense. You can complete missions with friends and earn rewards, fight 1v1, or play multi-person battles (not sure how many people). You can even have one of the original characters be your mentor online! Customizable characters and multiple races to chose from are just some of the great things this game had to offer. All in all, I am personally sold and anyone who is a fan of Dragon Ball should definitely consider buying this one above all others
Rated 8 out of 10 by JarviJaar A new Xenoverse but not online
At first playing the game, I'd already got addicted to the combat system. The story is refreshing and Dbz fans will be impress. Though the ally needs to be improve the game is great. Unfortunately online seems to be broken. I was hoping for a real 1 on 1 matches with other players. But instead was a "spam" fest worst than most fighting games. Players shouldn't be able to regain health or have unfair advantages, specially through rank sessions. I find it cheap and broken. Don't get me started with high level players. Levels shouldn't be allowed in player matches nor ranks. If they wanted to add that, then side quest should be the only thing. You will have a lot of fun. Just be aware of players on this game. Hopefully in the future they can fix frame drops, unfair ranking items and glitchy side quests. Overall a good game.
Rated 4 out of 10 by XenoverseIsTerrible Don't do it.
If you are wanting a good and lasting dragon ball z game steer far away from this thing. It has a broken system, underwhelming gameplay, and unfair missions. The character creation is Ok but that's about it. And still even that's a little broken. Nameks are the weakest idiots in the game and god help you if you run into a Frieza race online. And let's not forget the idiotic decision that was Super Saiyan. Apparently when you turn super saiyan you don't lose energy when you use Super Attacks or Ultimate Attacks. So this allows people to spam ultimate attacks until they transform down. And then they continue to spam it them. The story is ok at best but that doesn't save it. Overall it's not an enjoyable game so go buy Raging Blast or something like that.

I preordered it a few months ago and was really exited to play it. I got to play the beta this past weekend and I'm defiantly getting it. Its an open town where you can meet other players, challenge others to 1v1 2v2 or 3v3 battles. Winning gets you Zeni you can use to buy items and costumes to customize. You can also learn moves by becoming a pupil of your fav. character. There was even an offline mode if you just wanted to explore on you own. The battle mode was fun. Sometimes you would defeat some opponents and then open a portal to another arena for another battle The beta only let you create a human male/female or namik but the final version gives you more race chooses (sayian, majin, human, namik and possibly more still no word on others) I've been a long time dbz fan and I have to say I'm satisfied so far. Better than battle of z and different/better than UT's custom character mode.
Rated 1 out of 10 by hbk1989 Worst Dragonball Z game ever....
This is the worst DBZ game I have ever owned. No difficulty settings and the story mode is awful. Don't get me started on the mission when you are in freizas space ship and Gohan and Krillin constantly die... I hate this game. Why they haven't made a halfway decent dbz game since the ps2 is beyond me. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME ITS AWFUL. I
