What you need to know about Dirt 4

Product Details:

DiRT 4 features a game-changing system called Your Stage; an innovative rally route creation tool that allows you to produce an almost-infinite number of unique stages at the press of a button. You choose your location and set the route parameters, then Your Stage does the hard work to create a unique rally stage that you can race, share with your friends and then challenge them to beat your time. Your Stage allows experienced rally players to create longer, more technical routes, whilst newcomers can create simpler shorter routes as they hone their skills. With DiRT 4, Codemasters have sought to combine the levels of thrill and realism from last year's DiRT Rally with the fearless excitement, accessibility and adrenalin-fuelled races previously seen in its critically acclaimed prequels DiRT 2 and DiRT 3. Featuring classic rally racing that continues to build on the foundations set by the Colin McRae Rally games, the bruising contests from the official FIA World Rallycross Championship, the crazy battles of racing trucks and buggies, and the outrageous fun of open events in Joyride, players will face challenges from locations that span three continents.

  • OVER 50 OF THE MOST BREATH-TAKING OFF-ROAD CARS EVER BUILT - Including Ford Fiesta R5, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI, Subaru WRX STI NR4 and Audi Sport quattro S1 E2
  • 5 INCREDIBLE RALLY LOCATIONS WITH MILLIONS OF ROUTES - Australia, Spain, Michigan, Sweden & Wales
  • THE OFFICIAL GAME OF THE FIA WORLD RALLYCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP - Race at Montalegre, Lohéac Bretagne, Hell, Holjes & Lydden Hill in a multitude of different series
  • LANDRUSH - Short-course dirt track racing in Pro Buggies, Pro-2 Trucks, Pro-4 Trucks and Crosskart vehicles in California, Nevada and Mexico
  • JOYRIDE - Laptime challenges, smash challenges, free-play area and send challenges to friends
  • DiRT ACADEMY - Taking place at the DirtFish Rally School in Washington, USA, learn the skills, techniques and practice to become the best!
  • CAREER MODE - create your driver, compete across the disciplines, gain sponsors and build your team with clear goals and rewards
  • COMPETITIVE GAMING - Daily, weekly and month-long challenges against fellow players from around the world
  • NEXT GENERATION OF RACENET - Live ladder, leagues and tournaments, cross-platform leaderboards, enhanced CREST telemetry system
  • TUNING - Tweak your set-up based on vehicle, track and weather conditions to best suit your racing style
  • DAMAGE & REPAIRS - Wear and tear is faithfully recreated with an improved and realistic damage model. Damage can be repaired by hiring Engineers to work in the team's Service Area between stages but with a finite amount of time available.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great game , but Dirt 2 is still the best yet I bought this game hoping they would fix the Dirt 3 version. They did so far as the Rally portion. The Rally is really good. Takes me back to Dirt 2 which was the best by far. The liveries leave you wanting more. The Land Rush racing is to boring. Go around the track and try not to slide into the walls on the corners. The cart are good until you have to turn the sharply then the front end lifts and you go spinning into just about everything. The vehicles are awesome when the game lets you purchase them at all. It dictates way to much to there preference on what they want you to drive. They really leaned hard on the historic Rally portion of the game. That by far is the hardest part of the game. They give you horrible cars to buy then give you tracks that are very trying even for the best of video game Rally car racers. I went through most of the gamer vs. AI portion and enjoyed much of it. Then I get to the Triple Crown event thinking great I get to use my best cars at the best rally events and the start me off with the historic version of the rally game with little or no choice of cars to use unless I sell out and use the Sponsored team cars. Which are awesome but why lead you into having your own team then leave you with the least preferable cars to use. So far I don't get to use my super cool and awesome Rally cars just these horrible historic cars for my rally triple crown no stars there. Then to make matters worse you have bad cars with horrible track conditions. I understand its the triple crown and its suppose to be hard, you just took all the fun out of racing to win for the sake of struggling to finish. Overall I was very generous with the three stars I gave the game. No stadium Rally Cross with huge jumps and challenging tracks. nothing in the sense of being anywhere but in reality. No tracks where you have to cross over in the air while passing over and under other vehicles. No point in upgrading your cars because the game then upgrades your opponents cars and then everything is back to the same line of equality. I am sure the online play might offer some response to this. Only if you can get the other players to try to race the track and the other players instead of trying to crash you and every-chance with no intention of playing to win the race. Code Master go back and take a hard look at your Dirt 2 work and build off of that stop trying to carbon copy everyone else and do something that makes you want to spend $60 dollars to by dirt 5.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rally racing in back (Dirt) I got this game not to long ago. I thought Dirt 2 and 3 were great. Thinking Dirt 4 would be good. It is. Not the best. But like good. I haven't played Dirt for a while so in have to get my skills back and learn the controls and all. I am doing pretty for the most part. The one thing I don't like is the fog track. You can see a thing. Rain fine. Clear fine. Anything else like fog no. Snow I can't say. I only played a little bit of the game. It is good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DiRT never fails! Picked it up today and this is absolutely amazing compared to Rally. Yeah it may be the same at some areas but overall worth buying if you're a racer gamer like me. Graphics is better with PS4 Pro Enhanced, Sound and Music is just beautiful! Gameplay, still tough like Rally but they added Standard mode for new comers into the franchise of DiRT, but if you've played and experience Rally, they still have the simulation mode for those who wants a challenge!
