CHARACTER REVEAL

MATHRAS - The Undead Companion

Mathras is certainly no ordinary undead. Educated and refined, he lived before the time of the Lords of Ice, even before any known civilization. Sadly for him, Mathras does not have enough time to explain that he's not even remotely allied with the Deadarmy before humans try to murder him. He will join the cause of the hero out of simple curiosity, or perhaps fun, but beware: on the battlefield, Mathras casts lethal spells on his enemies, controlling their minds and transforming them into allies during the fight. After all, Mathras has had the last 3,000 years to perfect the art of jousting and fighting, skills he applies equally as well through words as well as magic.

RANDVAL - The Warrior Companion

Randval is a warrior, last survivor of an ancient clan that was decimated by the Deadarmy. He now lives with the burden of regaining the lost honor of his clan, or to die trying. According to his strict code of honor, Randval protects the village of Valvenor, waiting for an opportunity to claim this honor back. His meeting with the Hero of Bound by Flame will give Randval this opportunity he was longing for. The seemingly impossible quest the Hero has thrown himself in is an epic, heroic and desperate goal definitely worthy of the code of honor of Randval's clan. Randval is an extremely disciplined fighter, who is ready to sacrifice his life if it is necessary. He considers the demonic powers of the hero as a mean to fight the Ice Lords. On the battlefield, he will rush into the enemies, taunting them to get their attention and have them focus their attacks on him, giving his allies freedom of movement and relative safety to attack.

SYBIL - The Wizard Companion

Shy yet ingenuous and combative, the wizard Sybil is the daughter of the leader of the Order of the Red Scholars. Growing up under the cover of the order, she traveled around the world to gather and centralize knowledge of all kind. On the battlefield, you can count on her offensive powers to fight your enemies, but she is also specialized in the art of healing, magically tending to your wounds in the heat of battle. Diplomatic, very smart, Sybil is pushed by her curiosity to join the Hero in his quest. She will help him to understand his new demonic inner self, and is the first to worry about the consequences the extensive use of his demonic powers may involve.

RHELMAR - The Ranger Companion

Rhelmar is an Elf with his own sense of justice. Alas, it rarely fits the definition the rest of the world gives to justice'! A former outlaw, Rhelmar rejects the Elves' neutral state in the ongoing conflict, and takes and active part in the fight against the Deadarmy. Considered a pariah amongst his people, Rhelmar is determined to act as he feels right, even if it implies risking his own life. On the battlefield, he's an elite archer who can inflict lethal damage to his opponents from range... but he is also more than able with a dagger, when close range fights are inevitable.

EDWEN - The Witch Companion

Fierce and powerful, nothing will stop the mysterious witch Edwen from getting what she wants. She joins the hero to assist him in his quest, but seems to be guided by an all too personal thirst for vengeance. In her opinion, the hero's demonic influence is a mean to reach his goals, and he should embrace it to harness its powers. She might become your best ally in the looming battle... if you bow to her will, that is.

Features:

  • Create and customize a powerful warrior, develop your skills (combat, assassination and fire magic) and call upon the devastating powers of the demon within.
  • Find, create and improve your weapons and armor, and find help from numerous companions to help you fight Shadowdragons, Leeches and the fearsome warriors of Deadarmy in perilous and spectacular real-time battles!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not worth the money this game is so bad it's not even worth it if they ever offer it as a free download. gameplay is boring, fights are just repetitive. this game deffently needs a ton of work it's barley playable on the ps4. would not reccomend this game to aanyone who is an rpg fan

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I can't allow people to waste money This game is simply not worth the $50 that they are charging. It should have been released as a digital download for $15 or $20. My maybe I wouldn't be so hard on the game if it was classified as an action game but when you attmept to step into the RPG Genre then you need to come with a game that is a minimum of 40 hours of gameplay and if you go that low your entire game better be awesome...story...action....graphics etc...This game graphically is pretty solid...the shading effects and day to night transitions were very well done...the combat system which offers you two fighting styles was a decent attempt at something different....while I found the two handed weapons to be too slow for my liking the dual blades were perfect as I simply felt more agile. Now with the cons... 1. The developers either ran out of development funds 2. Ran out of Ideas for the game 3. Or plan to bombard their consumers with DLC Spoiler Alert Below so stop here if you plan to waste $50 if you want to save your money for a better option then keep reading... The game tells the story of the 7 Icelords...and about 20 or so hours into the game after a few sub boss battles you finally reach the first Icelord...now as a fan of RPGs this got me excited simply thinking about what to expect next as I battled towards the 6 remaining Icelords....BUT NO... You defeat the first Icelord.....do one other battle....make a choice and the game ends and that credits rol....this was a travesty for any hard nosed RPG Players...very unsatisfying....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from See for Yourself.. I read more reviews than I write and in this case it almost caused me to miss this title entirely. I don’t have a ton of time to game these days (only a few hours a few nights a week), and so I rely heavily on the community to help me save time and money with my game purchases. When it came to Bound by Flame the reviews were too all over the place for me to “risk” it. However with so few PS4 titles out and having played everything worth playing so far I decided to take a chance, and I’m glad I did. Let me start by qualifying that this game will NOT blow your mind. It is NOT the next gen RPG of the century, but for what it is and considering the size of the studio that created it I have to say this is good fun. Graphically this game everything we’ve seen before, but that’s okay because it’s not bad it’s just not ground breaking. The same goes for most of the game, which makes it familiar in my book. I like the upgrade system for weapons and gear, being able to add knee pads to my boots and have them visually added was cool. The skill tree is sufficient enough to provide a lots of different builds. Combat is strategic and fun (depending on your level of difficulty it can get pretty rough, but this can make the game last longer). The story (there is A LOT of it) and voice acting are acceptable, some reviews said there was too much story and if I sat down and tried to consume this game in a few days I suppose I would agree but in the smaller does I am limited to I found it to be interesting. If I had to compare it to another game and time I would say it’s like Gothic (PC), great game but it wasn’t Elder Scrolls. All in all if you are looking for an RPG game to casually play this will fit the bill. If you’re looking for the next RPG of all time, well that games hasn’t come out yet. If you go into this with the right expectations you won’t be disappointed. My hat is off to Spiders Studio for putting this RPG together, at least my PS4 isn’t just collecting dust waiting for the larger studios to deliver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW is all I have to say. Don't listen to the people that "reviewed" this game because they have no idea what they are talking about and more than likely didn't understand it when they played. All I have to say is that the graphics on this is top notice if you are playing it on an HDTV and the screen is big enough. Plus it helps when you have a HDMI cord hooked up to it. The graphics are flawless and I had no issue with anything that these bad reviewers are saying on it. The start of the game is very long before you can save it. Also don't forget to make your health and armor early on because you are going to need it. This type of RPG is pretty cool and the cool thing about this is the fact that it reminds me of a mix between FABLE, Mass Effect, and RECKONING rolled into one game. The interface for it is spot on and the detail that is put into the game is great as well. The only minor (and I mean minor) issue is the controls are sluggish at first until you get use to them. Once you do, its all fun from there. Also it would be wise and level up as much as you can before you leave the first part of the game. Be level 5 or 6 if you can. When it comes to the sound of the game, it is pretty good and at the menu it kind of has this creepy feel to it. Kind of like an old horror movie or something. The gameplay mechanics are pretty good and its not hard to figure out because you can see on the screen what to press for what. When it comes to the lasting appeal I would say that it has good replay value if you want to go back and do things differently (kind of like in FABLE). The only issue is to decide if you want to be good or if you want to be evil (always fun). So now when it comes to these "other" people reviewing this game as bad, don't listen to them. More than likely, they don't have a good size TV and an HDTV at that. For $35 this game is a steal. I say give it a chance you may like it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Good When I first got this game I was told that it was under the radar as far as games go and that gamers either loved it or hated it. I have to say that this game has been one of the better games I've ever played. I wish it had more save options and there's tons of cursing so not wise to play around the kiddos. Other than that I really recommend this game and it's well worth the time and money.
