Rated 4 out of 5 by from An aggressive and pulse pounding work of art Bloodborne is a fantastic game that delivers in fun, challenging, and quick game play. The challenge is addicting because of how the game rewards aggressive tactics. The Gothic architecture is both creepy yet beautiful to look at. Finally the community for Bloodborne and Souls games alike are great as every player tries to help one another.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hard but Rewarding This game was kicking my butt because I did not know what to expect because I had not played a Dark Souls game. Once I logged a few hours of dying, I started progressing more and it became very rewarding once I killed several bosses. This game is great to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Also, the graphics are really good and the gameplay is smooth. If you die, you were either unprepared or foolhardy. All in all this is a really great game.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I've never wasted so much time being bored This game is repetitive, boring and unfair. My character cannot block and dodging does nothing against bosses. Your character attacks at an un-usable speed and I died 40 times before getting instant killed by a werewolf. Every time you die you drop anything worth value and you have to go back to where you died and kill all the enemies there. All the enemies are against you and refuse to attack each other for some reason. There is no reward because everything is unfairly stacked against you. I have run through the same level 100 times and its a boring pattern. Spawn, have nothing, get killed by enemies that have attacks that are much better than yours. If you have 10 hours to dedicate to one level feel free to play but if you want to have fun, don't buy this sadistic game. At least its pretty thou right?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Embraced My Nightmares, and Loved it! Bloodborne is a game that isn't for everyone. I had to buy it twice to really appreciate what the game has to offer and i can say that I am not disappointed with that decision. It is very difficult and requires you to think analyze situations in order to defeat bosses and avoid being decimated by enemies repeatedly. Although the game can be extremely frustrating it is fair and does a great job teaching those who play it patience and strategy. Now that I'm giving you the premise that is prevalent in all From Software games let me tell you the components that make this game truly great and a must play for any hardcore gamer. First,I'll talk about the environments. They world of Bloodborne is dark, mysterious and beautiful. You discover this as soon as you walk out onto the streets of Yarnham and gaze at the Gothic architecture looming all around you. Everything you see is accessible through the game and all the areas connect into one gigantic world worth exploring and pouring hours upon hours into. You will be pushing your way through castles, wading through dreary forests, and fending off beasts in areas that have literally been drawn up from nightmares but I don't regret a single moments of it. Along with the stunning environments the character models and bosses are amazing. Some of the enemies you face are utterly terrifying but you have to slay them in order to move on the the next area.. This is when you grit your teeth and dive head on into the belly of the beast and contemplate your strategy of attack. The boss models are what really take the cake. All of the bosses, minus the Witch of Chemwick, are intimidating, whether its for their sheer size, grotesque appearance or outnumbering you three to one (yes, you, Shadows of Yarnham) the bosses make you feel as though you are fighting for your life every time you wade through the fog for your encounter. The fights are epic and there is no greater feeling than when you slay a boss that was giving you trouble. You yell out in joy when you plunge your blade into the monster and hear it draw its last breath. Going along with boss fights, the combat is still as amazing as ever in the Souls games but has more of an emphasis on being aggressive rather than making you rely on a shield like the Dark Souls games. In many scenarios if you don't strike first you will be struck down by a flurry of enemy attacks. A fun addition to the combat are the trick weapons that From Software added. Its loads of fun switching from a quick long sword to a slow, hard-hitting hammer at the tap of a button to flatten enemies. The final aspect that makes this game so intriguing is the lore and the story that is given shape as you go through the world. Its astonishing how From Software gives subtle hints of what is actually going on in Yarnham. There is more to Bloodborne than slaying beasts and you won't know this unless you play the game and go looking for all of the secrets that lie within. If you liked my review or agree with anything i said give me a thumbs up. Thank you for your time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I got 2 copy's :) I love bloodborne so much. And I've never done this. I bought a copy. And then ending up downloading it again with the DLC. I love bloodborne even more then Dark Souls 3 from what game play I have seen streamers play. Bloodborne The Witcher 3 and Last Of Us are my favorite PS4 games. Mosters as big as my 50" Tv on bloodborne. So dark and gothic looking and mysterious. Its hard to. But If you learn how it works. Its very rewarding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Astounding I first bought this game with pretty high expectations, i watched a stream on twitch beforehand and i knew i had to try it. when i bought it i spent about 10 minutes creating my character and spent the next 2-3 hours trying to get to and defeat the first boss. i have never played a souls game before so it was hard to master. i did go back and create another character made him look awesome and switched weapon types: this game is the best most fluid I've played on the new system. it doesn't have the story of a game like sky rim, but it surely makes up for that with gameplay. i eventually would go on to platinum this game after about 100 hours of gameplay. i gave not yet had the chance to play the old hunters but will be in the next few weeks. the replay value isn't the best i played through it 3 times to get all of the endings for the platinum but wouldn't suggest playing through it more than twice (gets repetitive) but the first 2 times i had a blast moreso than even skyrim. If you like a challenge and a decent story, this game is for you. just be prepared to have patience, you will die a lot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For those with a thirst for challenge! To start, I want to start with the flaws that bother me and explain my rating a little better. I cut a point from gameplay because the 'Story' is extremely hard to follow without paying excruciating attention to detail and reading item descriptions. This has been the case with every game by From Software however and it's ultimately negligible because it's not the main draw. There's also some minor bugs here and there but nothing too game breaking. As for the graphics, I was hoping to see a little more use of next gen capabilities but again, negligible, the game looks beautiful and sets a magnificent tone. With that out of the way, let's get into the real nitty gritty. So Bloodborne, as with the souls games, is designed to force you to rely on your own skill. It doesn't hold your hand and it can be extremely penalizing if you don't get the hang of combat. The combat in Bloodborne is meant to be aggressive and quick, especially compared to the Souls games. The trick to becoming good, however, is learning the moves of your enemies. Learn when you can and should use your gun to counter attacks and through sheer repetition, you will get better at the game. Make no mistake. You will die. A lot. You will become frustrated. But if you accept that you have room for improvement and that the game will give you no quarter, it is a fun frustration. When you finally succeed, it will be a magnificent feeling. Overall, the game will test those who find most games boring or too easy. It caters to those who strive to obtain everything and meet every goal. If you can stave off the initial pain of being bad at first, (I highly recommend rerunning areas several times before even challenging bosses until you can nearly do it in your sleep.) then this game will give back to you the gift of excellent reflexes and foresight.
