Destiny Expansion Pass
EWWWWW ON DISC CONTENT EWWWWW
To those mature gamers born in the 80s and early 90s that experienced the golden age of gaming, knew what quality and immersive storylines were, knew what finished bug free games were, knew what real value was and how to spot it...gaming as we know it may be impossible to save now.
Lack Luster - More of the same
I'll start off this review by saying that it was about what I expected. With both good and bad. Lets go over the good first.
-New Weapons and Gear.
The new weapons and gear are pretty nice and fit many different playing styles in both PvP and PvE
- New Strikes
Two more if you are on PS one if on Xbox It does add a few alien bosses to fight
- New Raid
New raid with the Swarm, I mean Hive as the focal point
- 3 new crucible maps
Three locations you can play PvP
If you had an exotic from before you can upgrade it to keep up with the expansion. No such luck on legendries.
-Minor Level upgrade
can level your character(s) to 32 from 30
-Rockin New sparrow
Just a fun little transport device that you can do tricks with
- Very little story expansion or explanation.
This seems to be Bungie's M.O. and little is expected seeing they have yet to address it. Also, don't expect any new cut scenes just a trailer you can watch at any time.
- Minimal new locations to visit.
In the Strikes expect one extra room or small area other than places that you've been before traversing backwards from previous runs.
- Old Raid Armor becomes useless.
It is capped at level 30 and you can purchase higher level armor from vendors in the tower.
Everything is very repetitive. This is pretty much the norm for Destiny. It can leave you bored quick.
- No New real locations or places to explore.
Besides the few new rooms, you've probably seen it all before.
- Bosses are just larger bullet sponges
If you expected something unique you're not going to get it.
- Seems to be flat
Nothing really engages you to want to go further other than the chance of new gear and weapons.
- Expensive for what you get
Seems like it was thrown together with minimal thought or just enough to get it by
All in all it's about what most would expect from Activision/Bungie DLC. It is more of the same and leave more questions than answers for the story and nothing to make you care about any of the characters. If you are wanting something to slightly extend the life of the game the 45min of story missions, New raid and Crucible maps will do that for a little while until the next one comes out in (March?). If you want loads of new content and places to explore and become engaged with you might want to skip it or buy a different game.
This game belongs in the trash. Anything Destiny related sucks. You will be bored out of your mind. Play Grand Theft Auto instead
i would say that this pass is worth the 35$ and it is a great present for those that like to play destiny
it was okay...
i feel bad for everyone who pre-ordered this. the game isnt terrible by any means but with little to no story it begs the question...what is there to expand on? that and the rumors that this stuff is already on the disc but its locked....sorry but no thanks. i am gonna pass this up and will tell my friends the same thing. will be playing Dragon Age Inquisition for now as i wait for Destiny 2...i have hope it will do much better.
Time to Xperience Destiny to the MAX!!!
After pre-ordering, trying out the first-look alpha, and currently waiting for the Beta. I know that Destiny will be good so I have no problem pre-ordering this for the Ultimate Destiny experience.
