PlayStation TV System Bundle
Purchased This Last Night
I got this last night because I preordered it. It comes in a very small box about the size of a book without the bundle, with the bundle its the size of a standard bible. Upon plugging it in, it looks very nice and sleak. About the size of a credit card just a little thicker. The system is the same as the vita however, many things do not work. Many games do not work even though they state it would at launch. Netflix currently does not work as well either. Although I understand it uses the same operating system as the vita I was highly disappointed at the resolution. It reminds me of a bad computer screen with one of the crappiest video cards ever installed. I wish they would have atleast used high def when creating the screen. I tried to install new games on their however the memory card which shipped with the product was full after my lego game installed. So if getting this make sure you get a large memory card to combat that issue.
Overall Rating 7/10 if everything works.
Current State 5/10
Seems great so far.
I just got the Playstation TV bundle today and it seems like a really great product for the price. This product is great for me because I don't play hand-helds. Also, a lot of the Vita games I would play are supported by PS TV so I have more games to get now! With Tales of Hearts R coming next month it would've been a game that I normally missed out on because of it being on a hand-held; but thanks to Namco its now compatible with PS TV! Also, I missed so many JRPG'S on the PSP that are now available to me and my big screen TV thanks to PS TV. I just downloaded Persona 2 Innocent Sin a game I wanted to play for so long, but couldn't because it was on PSP. I'm playing it now on my big screen with my new PS TV and it's working just fine! So if anyone reads my review and your in the same boat as I was then this is a product for you. Lastly, PS TV is very easy to use, I had no problem what so ever setting it up.
Playstation TV Bla Bla Bla
I was so happy to see I could final play my VITA games on my big tv instead for the stupid hand held. Was expecting to be what the Gameboy player was to the Gamecube. NOT THE CASE. I'm a little P!SSED off. #1, half of the VITA GAMES wont even play on the thing. NOT SUPPORTED it says. # 2, Netflix and some other SIMPLE apps dont work also...... Whats up with that?
I would stay way from it untill SONY does some updates for it and make it work BETTER then out the box!
JUST MY 2 CENTS from the $140 I spent on the thing!.
Not as advertised
Interface - Vita
Need to be hard connected to the router to stream games (Can't stream through WiFi)
Controller does not have all the required buttons for PS4 games
PS4 games lag
Does not have the main streaming apps available
Had to re-download games due to software errors
Vita games on the big screen
The PlayStation TV is a great addition to any gamers household. You can play all the great Vita titles on the big screen, as well as Remote Play every PS4 game from across the house. I put the PS TV in my bedroom and now am able to play PS4 and Vita games from the comfort of my bed, while my actual Vita stays in its case charged up and my PS4 sits safely on the living room entertainment center.
This is a no brainer
This is a must if you own a PS4. Even by itself, it's a great value. To be able to remote play your PS4 on any TV in your house with this device makes it worth it. With Playstation Now coming, plus all the apps and Vita games that are out, this system will be amazing.
I have a question on this!
I am trying to figure out if I buy the upcoming Disney Infinity for PS4, if I will be able to play it on a separate TV through the PS TV. Does anyone know? I am trying to puy the PS TV for my sone so he can play some of his Dad's PS4 games in his room, and I'd like to get him the Infinity game if it can be played remotly thru the PSTV. I couldn't find the answer in the internet, so I figure someone on the site may know.
This is something I been wanting for wille now an way to play PS vita games on my big LCD. I wonder if the digital voucher can be used for something like the PS Vita version of Uncharted: Golden Abyss in place The Lego Movie Game.
Perfect extension of the PS family
While the PS4 is certainly a better size than its competitor, the PlayStation TV will be the perfect add-on for each of my PlayStation 3D Displays and will essentially turn them into easily-moved gaming stations. I love the device's versatility in the vast amount of games it can play without the assistance of the PS4, too. Like everything else on the market, I won't be surprised if the Netflix app ends on up on here, but if it gets a Plex client then the Amazon Fire TV is out of the equation with the PSTV being the all-in-one solution!
