Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z
gow meets ninja gaiden comic book style
I don't understand why people are bashing this game its fun. The graphics are really good if you like cell shade comic book style. Colorful and very convincing comic book style. The music and sound is okay nothing real special. Techno type music. Voice acting isn't terrible but it isn't great it does try to to be funny. The game play reminds more of god of war than ninja gaiden. You have a sword attack, a lunge or power attack, and a chain distance attack. You can string 100 hit combos chopping up enemies felt very much like GOW. So why does GOW get away with these controls but Yaiba has been condemned must be video game politics. This may not be a purest Ninja gaiden game but it is a fun and fresh take on a hack n slash. Flinging zombies at other enemies or using zombie arms as nunchuks is pretty cool. I reccomend this game at least give it a try. Right now at 9.99 its with a try. I had a $5 off coupon so I got it for 5 bucks but it is worth the 19.99 price and definitely worth the 9.99.
I loved the game. I really loved the main character, Yaiba, he appealed to me very much and I loved his personality. The game play was great, loved the graphics and the blood. This game would be for more casual gamers and people who love hack and slash games.
Good game for any gamer
I saw this game after i place ninja gaiden 3 : razors edge and i ended up going for it. truth be told at first i couldnt get into it. but after playing it abit i started to warm upto it. the graphics are more like a comic book and the humor and action. id reccomend this to anyone who likes hack and slash games. ive been a big fan of the ninja gaiden games for years now and this one dosent dissapoint. if you like ninja gaiden then this one is for you. glad to see a new addition to the ninja gaiden collection.
To be honest, I was completely against this title when it's initial Teaser Trailer was revealed. I thought it was utterly dumb to make Ninja Gaiden's protagonist, Ryu Hayabusa, the main antagonist In the game. It just didn't make any sense to me. I gave the game some thought and after watching some gameplay videos I actually started to change my mind a bit. The core humor of the game Itself and the atmosphere suits the Borderlands and The Walking Dead themed Comic Book graphics. Even though It would appear as Team Ninja has borrowed some of the horrible writing and dialog from DmC: Devil May Cry, It actually makes sense considering the game is supposed to be cheesy rather than the more usual serious approach Ninja Gaiden has always taken. What finally brought closure to me actually wanting to own a copy of this game Is the new game mode that was revealed. It has been titled Ninja Gaiden Z, which leads me to believe the actually Story Mode of the game Is most likely going to be called Yaiba. The new game mode Is essentially a throwback to the older NES Ninja Gaiden titles featuring a Side-Scrolling level design, 8-bit cutscenes, complete with horrible Japanese-to-English translations (They have done this on purpose In order to establish humor and old- school nostalgia), and Team Ninja has stated this mode to be extremely difficult just like the original Retro titles. Overall, I believe this game will be successful, even though most Hardcore Ninja Gaiden fans are hesitant on the game. I'm hoping Yosuke Hayashi and Keiji Inafune know what they are doing and they make a great game. I believe Hayashi has shown he has the potential to make more great Ninja Gaiden games considering he learned from his mistakes with Ninja Gaiden 3 and made Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge feel like It was made by Itagaki himself. I'm putting my trust in Team Ninja that this will be an excellent spin-off of the Ninja Gaiden series. I will give a full review on this game upon it's release In the United States and when I have spent a good 20 to 50 hours playing it (Considering If it lives to my expectations).
