XCOM: Enemy Within
oohh my god !!!
This game is gonna be awesome, I played enemy unknown and I thought it was gonna suck, but after the first two minutes the game was amazingly good. The cut scenes beautifully done, it also does an amazing job giving you the "commander" full control of what happens. This expansion is making a game that was amazing even better.
Challenging, engaging, and rewarding!
I absolutely love Second Wave modifiers to give my soldiers and entire game a unique feeling every time! Plus I love the special kill cams with the mech rocket fist, not that the standard uppercut isn't awesome enough, but using it against the Mechtoids, Berserkers, and Sectopods is very stasifying! BUT this game does have a learning curve, and no matter how good a player you are, you will always be at the mercy of the Random Number Generator, so bad luck can easily result in your entire squad of elite soldiers falling in battle. Really makes you feel humble, no matter how many super soldiers, psykers, or mechs you have.
This game is great, until end game.
This game is great for fans of strategy/tactical games. When you are first starting out, this game is pretty hard. The hidden faction that tries to take you out can be annoying at first, buy after you have upgraded you tech tree and gotten some meld. They just don't stand a chance even with their upgrades. There are some cool new features that add to the game play immensely from Enemy Unknown. But, when end game comes, the only pain in the neck thing I came across was the sectopods. The end boss is now so easy, I wish they would have upgraded him a little bit. Also, when you go in to finish off the hidden faction, they are so easy at that point it is kind of a let down. But overall this is a great game, one that you shouldn't pass up.
Game is easily a 9
Great game and more than just an "add-on." Read my response to the reviewer who posted a 1 for this game and see more of what I had to say about this game. I've been a gamer for 20 years and the only games I've played more than this is Mass Effect 2 and 3...
$40 for an add-on
This game is the same as XCOM enemy unknown, except it comes with new content. All of the bugs I found in the original XCOM for PS3 are still in enemy within. Trying to shoot targets at higher or lower elevation than your troops is tedious and full of blind spots that should not be there. Sometimes there are enemies shooting at you from below the map. Loosing four hours of gameplay because of a bug in the system makes the game very bitter. If you buy the game, just make sure you use the auto save feature.
