Rated 5 out of 10 by zachs Wheelman, the heist of the decade? For the game publishers.
Okay, so the idea of being a wheelman is not new to games: GTA, Driver, and others. Vin Diesel, the voice of the main character, was a good choice. But this is not the best wheelman game, by far. So there are only around 10 different cars to choose from. Why so skimpy? Probably because the publishers had to fork out so much money for Vin that he'll be set if he just drops off the face of the earth. The graphics are not too bad, but they definitely are not up to new console standards. The controls are very loose and unresponsive. How many people actually live in Barcelona? Wikipedia has it around 1,605,602 people. It seems that there are just 200, because if my car was unusable it seemed as if I had to walk forever before seeing one. It's not the worst game out there. It does have a relatively good story behind it. But the same as with its main car, the Pontiac, this game went under.

I thought this game would stink and nobody was going to buy it... I WAS WRONG. This is the best driving, shooting, walking, game ever. Graphics are amazing, Storyline is good, and the challenge is great. I really enjoyed it, and anyone else would too. I would recommend this game to anyone who like to drive like a maniac and shoot. (And run away from enemies and cops) I also love running away from the cops. This is the one game you can blow up the cops cars when they are chasing you. When you blow them up, the people don't blow up. So it's not really gory. This, Midnight Club, and Burnout Paradise are the best driving games in the world. The game is also realistic. (In some ways) Its also good because in most games you can't switch cars (If the car has low life) but in this game you can. BUY IT... NOW!!!
Rated 10 out of 10 by Yankeewan2b Awesome! Must Buy!
I strongly recommend Wheelman if you are still unsure on whether to buy it or not; it is a great game. It is way better than GTA and a lot of fun. It is set on the streets of Barcelona, Spain. The controls for the game could not be any better! The mission mode is great too; you never get bored playing this game as you are given a new challenge after each one that you complete. Graphics wise, it is very solid. I've never been a big fan of action games, but I must say that I'm hooked! In my opinion the only aspect this game lacks is online functionality. Difficulty wise, I find that there is nothing that is too hard, but at the same time there is nothing that is too easy. All in all, I'd give Wheelman a 10/10. A must buy for any fans of action/car/shooter games!
Rated 10 out of 10 by news_at_11 Wheelman is better than GTA and St Row
First off the opening scene is the best!!!. I will not spoil it for you guys. Everyone go and get this game u will be hooked. The missions are crazy!!! and let me tell you the air jack move on here is sick!!!!!!!!!!!. I don't care what anyone says this game kick butt!!!!. Go get this game. The controls are great, the action is jam packed . The only thing wrong with this game is that it does not have any online capabilities. But you dont need it for this game. Lots of trophies!!!!! NEED I SAY MORE. Remember you are the wheelman, you do what you want when you want. You are more than a driver, you are a man on a mission. Make sure you follow directions from each passenger that gets into your car as it will help you get to where you are going. Get it while its hot!!!!!
Rated 8 out of 10 by videogamedude123 not your average racing game!
Just a great racing game. This game will have you literally on the edge of your seat. In my personal opinion, way better than forza, need for speed, and burnout. Also, if you do not want your kid playing gta, definetely consider this game.
Rated 0 out of 10 by Kidcat Good, but not great.
I just played through the demo and it has a lot of issues. Firs thing is the controls; the cars feel very unrealistic like if they where on rails. The graphics are so-so, at least on the demo, inferior to Burnout: Paradise or GTAIV if you want to compare. The demo did not reveal much of the story but from it wasn’t very intriguing but if you are into these types of games, it is probably not going to be an issue for you. That’s said, the feel of speed was well delivered in this game and the moves are interesting and to put it simply, fun to do. However, I only hope they don’t get repetitive because that would kill a game like this that relies on those types of things. The “guntime” or slow-motion is used at the right moments and the controls work well when using the pistol. The cars, as you might have guessed are unlicensed but purely generic and nothing that makes any particular car stand out. There is the sports car, motorcycle, typical sedan and a bit in between. Not a lot of options, I would say more or less 5 vehicles to choose from, at least from the demo. And none of the vehicles have a difference in feel as far as speed is concerned. They all equally seem to be fast and get the job done. As far as the demo goes, I am not impressed. I surely hope that the final product is more polished.

While looking on this site for my next game purchase, I seen Wheelman, and found out about the demo being on PSN so I got it and I'm very impressed. I love the Vehicle Melee mechanic, it's awesome. There are in fact 2 cars that I noticed, that are real cars. The Pontiac G8 and the Saturn car. There are a few other cool looking cars too. Based on the demo, I'm thinking this will be a very action oriented racer. Slinging your car completely around and shooting enemies is pretty wicked. My only minor complaint is when your on foot, it seems a little clunky, I'm hoping when the game comes out maybe it'll be a little smoother. All in all a great game, and so far I will be getting it.
Rated 6 out of 10 by THELEGEND As much as i want to say this game is good, i cant
Like my title says, as much as i wanted to say this game was good i just can't. We'll start with gameplay.
GAMEPLAY: Gameplay was actually pretty decent, it didn't lag, and no glitches.... when you're driving. But when you're walking its a totally different story. The walking just flat out sucks, and the shooting barely takes ANY effort, just hold L2 and the game practically aims FOR YOU. The driving is also VERY unrealistic, but fun.
GRAPHICS: Graphics on cars, buildings, and civilians are gorgeous, but the faces on the main characters suck, the graphics on peoples faces made me feel like i was playing a game from the PS1.
SOUND: Let me just say that the voice acting is fantastic with Vin Diesel ( of course ) doing the voice of the main character. But when it comes to car engines, slams, crashes the sound is just messy.
CONTROLS: The controls are actually pretty good, but i will complain ( like i said in gameplay ) that if you hold L2 the game aims for you and it takes no effort to kill an enemy.
OVERALL: Wheelman is a game with great ideas, those ideas were unfortunately not performed very well with this game. I would strongly recommend renting this game BEFORE you buy it.
Pros and cons.
PROS: Awesome voice acting by Vin Diesel
Smooth driving gameplay
CONS: Messy graphics
Terrible gun gameplay
Awful walking animations
Rated 6 out of 10 by TheReverend It could be better
Its an ok game, i mean, it could be way better. The graphics are like the Nintendo Wii graphics...and it feels like your playing on one of those old big arcade machines. Like from 1999 or something. But otherwise, its good. For me, when I play this game, i play it for an hour or 2 then dont play it for almost a month. Its one of those games where you play it then you dont want to play it for awhile.
Rated 0 out of 10 by Ganonx16 Good game
Just tried the demo for the PS3. It was awesome! If you like seeing awesome car chases or objects blowing up, this game is for you. The only thing is that you should try the demo before you buy it. The controls aren't great but there good. Overall, if you don't mind the controls and like cinematic chase scenes and tons of missions and side missions, get this game!
