Rated 9 out of 10 by LazerShark A Great Opening to an Excellent Franchise
The Uncharted series is easily the trademark franchise of the PS3, and Naughty Dog nailed the feeling of being in an action-packed cinematic experience. In Drake's Fortune, the series begins and the thrill-ride extravaganza never stops from there on, but there is still room to tell an amazing story with memorable characters, including the protagonist himself, Nathan Drake. The game combines third-person shooting with puzzles, platforming, and straight-up adventure with a hint of exploration. The controls are great, and the game is well designed, but the enemy AI has unfair aim at times. However, the game isnt very hard, making for an easy platinum (there is also no multiplayer, but the single-player is actually quite lengthy and well worth replay). The graphics still look good, but a few textures look slightly dated now even though the game is gorgeous. The audio is very lovely, and the game fires on all corners for the most part. This is a memorable experience that is a gem in the PS3's library, and despite any small flaws, it is reccomended to everyone with the particular system.
Rated 9 out of 10 by DOmiNicanBoy21 Amazing Game (Too bad for Xbox owners)
For being a game made in 2007, this game rocks. Some games made today aren't as good as this game. It has amazing graphics great weapon choices and (unlike many games) it is realistic. You die if you fall a deep fall and after about 4 or 5 continuous shots, you die. The only thing that isn't quite realistic though is the Spaniard zombies towards the end of the game. This got me very off guard and I was just stunned. This game went from a tomb raider/Indiana Jones type of game to a resident evil type of game in a snap. It gets really intense when you are going on your way out of the island and you go through those dark alleys when all of a sudden zombies try to eat you. The ending was okay but could of been better. I bought this game because I heard how good it was and I played the demo, so I played it and loved it. I now am dying to buy Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3 when it comes out in November of next year. Uncharted is a great game and I suggest every ps3 owner to buy yourself a copy.

There are a few bad things about this game but they might as well not count seeing as how they're so insignificant. Every now and then there will be a blurry patch with the graphics but that's because there is so much put into the environment, plus I think they pretty well with today's technology. It's not really a problem with the game but I think the game could be longer, you never want amazing games like this to end.The storyline of this game is actually fairly decent, you don't just look for treasure, there are other problems you're that Drake must deal with along the way. The graphics are amazing, despite the blurry patch every now and then. The controls are very easy to work with and every new gamer can easily learn them. The sound is also pretty good, when people shoot at you and miss you can here rocks crumble.Overall I would say this is an excellent game and is very much worth the money, and I would recommend it to anyone who is into action, adventure, or shooter games.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Under Darkness Outstanding!
This was one of the first games I bought for my PS3. I popped it in right as I got home, and I couldn't stop playing it! This game is really fun, and extremely addicting! This is one of the best games for the PS3. The graphics were amazing, they looked so real. The environments were simply stunning. When you go into the water your clothes get wet. The storyline isn't to long. You can play it over and over again and still enjoy it because there are a lot of unlockables and four difficulty settings. At the beginning of the game the weapons weren't real good but once you get about half way through they get a lot better. The controls were very good, responsive, and easy to use the only problem I was using the sixaxis to throw grenades it got annoying and hard to use after a while. The interface was very easy to use, you use the directional pad to choose weapons and reload. Overall I would recommend this game. It is well made with a solid storyline good graphics, easy to use interface, and good weapons.
Rated 7 out of 10 by aco612 Good but certainly not exceptional
It might be a bit harsh to hold Uncharted: Drake's Fortune against the light of newer games, but since no game exists in a vacuum it is entirely fair. And any fair discussion of the game must point out that as interesting as the story is, and as action packed as the gameplay is, the limits of what you can do here are very disappointing. In particular the floating camera is awkward at the best of times and infuriating at the worst, and the jumping mechanisms are seriously limited by the camera angle you are viewing, which for a game that relies on "platforming" so much is a serious disappointment. Gunplay gets easier as you go, although the enemy AI is by turns insipid and diabolical. Few opportunities exist to be stealthy, as eagle-eyed AI spots you at almost any turn. But the story is compelling and the animations engaging, and on the whole it is a entertaining experience. If you are going to play the Uncharted series (and I recommend you do) this is obviously the best place to start, warts and all.

I grew up on Tomb Raider and heard this was like it: adventure, puzzle-solving, exotic locations, shooting stuff, etc. I was hugely disappointed, in pretty much every aspect. 1. there are maybe 5 puzzles throughout the game, and they are overly simplistic. 2. the gameplay consisted of moving from one set piece to the next and engaging in a fierce gun battle with 10-15 jungle mercenaries. And...that is the entire game in a nutshell. Clear an area of bad guys, move to another area, that often looked extremely similar, and then battle more guys until you cleared that area. Seriously, it's a combat game more than any kind of adventure game. 3. the locales were either very similar to one another (except for the notable exception of some abandoned hospital or something and then you're suddenly playing a lesser version of Silent Hill) or you would have to circle back through environments you've already played/cleared. It was pretty lazy. And there we have it. And my 7-yr-old sons and I beat it in like 10 hours.

I'm lost for words when it comes to this breakthrough in gaming. After beating it I went to return not long after buying it and I just couldn't bring myself to give it away, so I decided to keep it. I went back two weeks later and traded it in, after beating it three more times, and thought I would never miss it. I was very wrong. As i write this review I'm kicking myself for not keeping it, everything about it was perfect. The graphics made you feel as if you were by everyones side shooting on a jet ski, or killing man-eating Nazis. The length I thought was almost perfect and I think they could have added another level, but I think that's due to the fact that I never wanted the adventure to end. The story was so cool it was as if it was an Indiana Jones movie, but the character wasn't as old as dust. Also the controls were tweaked to perfection, not to hard and not to easy, but just right. Well it looks like I'll have to wait for Naughty Dog to get moving on "Uncharted 2", and this time I'll keep it forever!
Rated 9 out of 10 by BlueAce57 Best PS3 game of 2007
When I picked my PS3 and tried out Uncharted: Drakes Fortune i was hooked on the game for a week! The good things about this is the story that your a guy named Nathan Drake along with two companions Elena Fisher and Victor Sullivan who must find the treasure El Dorado and along the way you will fight soldiers, modern pirates, and creatures. You will also find treasures as well. The game gets better once you beat it you can buy guns, character skins, art from the game, and videos of the creators of the game. The music as well is really great and blends in with the game. The challenge of the game is around hard depending what difficulty you put in. The controls are okay but having to throw a grenade is kinda of a laugh. The length of this game is around two days to beat for a total 100% it will take a week to collect all treasures and to beat it in different difficulty's. So my final answer is to get this game because it is an awesome game for the PS3.

My bro got this game as part of a buy two get one free deal going through gamestop at the time and decided to get this game. I had heard about this game about how it was a game that you had to play and it will blow your mind so i was really excited to play it. I must have a really good source for game gossip because they were right. This game is one of the best offerings for the PS3 out there. U can climb up mostly any thing in your enviroment. And your enviroments themselves are extraordinary. This has got to be the most detailed game I've ever played. The gameplay is so fun. You can shoot it out or stealth your enemies. There are so many weapons to choose from. from rifles to grenade launcher and pistols, even grenades. There is even some extras from previous naughty dog games like jak and daxter were you have a swimsuit with the logo of daxter named otsell and a treasure thats a precursor artifact. Overall this is an awesome game and u should get it if you like shooter games, third person gameplay, and full scale action.

I baught this game in december of 07 and beat it like 4 times and its still fun. The challenge is great because you have 4 difficulties to choose from. The hardest diffficulty is crushing and it really does stand up to its name. The graphics are the best I have seeen on the PS3. They are so detailed. As an example, if Drake runs or swims in water his clothing gets wet. Also if he runs his shirt will move and fold. The first time through it took me about 10 hours on normal, but the harder difficulty I chose it took longer. The storyline is extremly catching. Now I dont want tospoil the story for you but I will say there is an unpredictable ending. The controls were great and easy to remember. I liked how you use the sixaxis controls to throw a grenade by aiming it up and down. Also you tilt it left and right to balence across logs. The sound was spot on. the gunshots and explosions were realistic and had no delay. This is so fun and such a great game.
