Tomb Raider has made the leap to the next level.
As someone that has played every Tomb Raider game as they were released since the mid 1990s, it gets harder and harder to improve on such a popular franchise even as technology improves. That being said, Tomb Raider for the PS3 is probably the best game in the franchise since the late 1990s and absolutely the best one on the next gen systems. Gameplay, puzzle solving, and story are the cornerstones of a successful Tomb Raider game and this installment has them all to go along with superior graphics and ease of controls. This is not an easy game, but at the same time there are plenty of maps and on screen hints that make gameplay enjoyable. Sorry, but I hate buying a $60 game and then NEED to by a $25 strategy guide!! This game delivers on that end without sacrificing exploration and difficulty. One HUGE problem I had with the recent Resident Evil 6 is the ridiculous lack of ammo to be found in order to defeat the amount of enemies you face. Tomb Raider gives gamers the opportunity to pick up the ammo you need in different ways (upgrades) as to not have you pulling your hair out because you don't have the tools to move forward in your game. This new Tomb Raider game brings Lara Croft into the 21st Century and has laid the groundwork as well as raising the bar for future installments to live up to. Tomb Raider as a franchise is back.
Amazing story-line and stunning graphics.
I bought this game initially because the title Tomb Raider punched me right in the childhood and my PS1 days were calling me. This game delivers a fresh start and keeps going with the pace through out the game. The graphics are almost perfect in my opinion; the speckles of rain and blood. The glare of the sun. It's really great. It also delivers on the blood and gore and I'm glad, because just because she's a girl doesn't mean she can't get down and dirty and fight and kick butt. Also, the multiplayer is okay, it tends to be filled with hardcore FPS shooter tryhards, but overall an okay experience. Game itself is worth the money though
the best Tomb Raider game by far. the graphics are amazing its action packed and the gameplay is great and the story has you on the egde of your seat. the cutscenes are good too and the environment your in makes it even better you actually feel like your in the game fighting for your life. i like lara's design. if you dont own it yet waste no time and go pick it up you wont be disappointed $60 dollars well spent
I havent been impressed with my PS3 graphics for awhile but this game surely brought out the true potential and i love it.
What a great game...I can't believe I waited this long to buy it! I would definitely recommend this game for anyone that enjoyed Assassins Creed!
A great game.
I bought this game expecting nothing more than a sub par copy of Naughty Dog's Uncharted series, but I was pleasantly surprised. The game has many similarities with the Uncharted series: it's story focused, with platforming and 3rd person shooter mechanics, and a few puzzles mixed in. But where this game really shines is in its differences from Uncharted. The game has a huge focus on exploration and puzzle solving. Each area has many items to collect and optional objectives to complete. The storytelling is good, not great, but the gameplay is absolutely fantastic. This game is absolutely fun from beginning to end.
A near perfect experience with jaw dropping visuals . the only complaint i have is a somewhat predictable plot twist. other than that this game is perfect.
This game is perfect for anyone who enjoys Uncharted. They are extremely similar in game play controls, movement and interactive environment. It is an excellent story with quality voice performances, an engaging story line.
One of the best games of the year
Everything was good about it graphics, storyline and gameplay. I was playin it 8 hours straight on Saturday and Sunday that's how addicting it is. Excellent Game. What are you reading for? Go and get it!
GAME OF THE YEAR OR GET AN ARROW TO THE HEAD!
This game is sicky-nar! its too sick to just be classified as "sick." And it is to "narley," to just be narley. Story is amazing! Controls are easy to learn. Graphics are crystal clear! Sounds make it feel like the water is splashing right in your house. The length is pretty long. Replay value is really high. There is just way to much going on that you're like "NO WAY THAT JUST HAPPENED!" So ya GAME OF THE YEAR OR THE BEAUTIFUL but DEADLY, LARA CROFT, WILL SHOOT A FLAMING ARROW TO YOUR HEAD! that simple.
