This game is great, amazing graphics and intense and fun gameplay. This seems like one of her best adventures yet. I think they did an excellent job on this game. Personally, some of the reviews you've probably heard were way too hard on this game. Its much better than a lot of other games that game sites gave better scores to. I traded Fallout3 in for this game and to tell you the truth i'm having a much better time and experience with Tomb Raider than in that game. Never been much of a fan of having to go to the pause menu every time i wanna select a weapon, replenish health or put a move in. That becomes way too tiresome and grows old after a while, that's why Underworld is just straight out fun and exploration. The way a game should be and is supposed to be about. People i think tend to forget that these days and thats why we all have the same kind of repetitive games coming out. Go buy this game right now if you're an adventure fan and enjoy puzzle solving, graphics, exploration and shooting!

I loved this game! I haven't played Tomb Raider in years, and I rented this one and was blown away! So much so, that I'm buying previous games and loving that "I remember this!" feeling. The graphics were absolutely beautiful (as is Lara's new look) and a lot of the time I would catch Lara standing in the middle of peril doing nothing because I was looking around at the scenery. I also love Natla's reinvention, Anniversary!Natla was just frightening. (I suppose that was the point, though.) I did have an issue with the length of the game; it could have been much longer, and I am sluggishly slow when it comes to beating games. There were also some glitches; an example being in Croft Manor when jumping down after pulling the door with the grappling hook, and Lara continues to walk against the block, so that I have to pause her for a few seconds and then turn her around. I could go on and on about Underworld, but I won't, so let me just say that it was a wonderful way to get back into the series, and I was impressed. I can't wait for the next installment!

This is, in my opinion, the best TR game to date. It's clear that Crystal Dynamics has a vision of Lara Croft as something far greater than her previous designers. First off, the gameplay and controls are very solid. The platforming is challenging, but not nearly as ridiculous as past titles. I only got frustrated at one small section in the game. Overall, I was very pleased with this improvement. The camera was sometimes shaky, but never at any crucial point. Perhaps my favorite part of the game was the story. The narrative is good, although Lara spends most of her time alone exploring ancient sites. What i was impressed with was how well CD wove mythology (Norse is the main focus) with the story. Lara seems much more like an intelligent archaeologist than she has before. I'm really glad I decided to try this game, and I'm now very excited about the future of Lara Croft. Finally, it seems that she's in capable hands.
Rated 3 out of 10 by pvnc4life Riddled with bugs and poor controls
The controls in this game are very sloppy. It's almost as if you have to line up the camera, pause, then jump before you make it to the next ledge. Doing this at every jump gets lame. The motorcycle controls are just as bad.
The first time I played this game I came across a glitch in a tomb where the bridge was supposed to be up so I could jump the bike across it. The bridge was down and there was no way I could get across. I had to download a patch to correct this problem. I finished the game after that without incident. About a year later I picked it up again to play it through once more and another (different) glitch caused me to be stuck in a different tomb with no means of passing through. That was enough for me.
It's a shame there are so many bugs and sloppy controls because, this game could have been pretty good. I like the different environments and puzzles but it's just not any fun to play.

I think this game is great, the graphics are amazingly done, aswell as the controls and challenge. You fight tigers, sharks, zombies, black panthers, spiders, humans, and much, much more. You play in the Thialand jungle, two different oceans, the arctic, croft manor, mexico, enemy boats and many tombs. Some puzzles are hidden puzzle pieces to open a door or matching symbols with each other. Some tomb traps you face are flamethrowers, giant crushers, blue lava in the underworld, swinging blades and much more. There's lots of free gameplay, unlike the other tomb raider games, after you complete the game you can free roam in any place you've played through. Weapons and gadgets you use are: Pistols, shotgun, machine gun, grenades, flashlights, health packs, tranqulizer gun, spear gun, video camera to film and thor's hammer. Overall most people love this game a lot, never go against eidos.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Egyptmania Most thrilling TR game yet!
I couldn't wait for this game to come out. Being another fan of the series, the storyline just keeps you wanting more and more. The graphics are PHENOMENAL as well as the sound and music. But the best part yet is all the things Lara can do now. The places she goes takes your breath away with awe. I swear I drooled a few times just looking at the surroundings with my mouth wide open. I think my bottom lip fell to the floor. Lol! The puzzles (I think) are my favorite parts. Tricky as always and (for me) without the strategy guides I can figure them out easily. That's how well I've known these games. The controls are a bit hard to configure. With the wireless PS3 control (unlike the original PS2 control where you can just hold down the button and she keeps shooting) it's a bit hard to keep shooting without your finger getting sore. Other than that this game is awesome. Definite recommend.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Carl Childers...mmmm The best TR since the first one
In my opinion, this is the best Tomb Raider game since the very first one on PS1. The graphics are really nice looking. The sound and level design are amazing. Sometimes you have to fight with the camera but it's such a good game it can be overlooked. I'm not one to play games constantly, therefore I would say the game is plenty long for your money. Just don't race through it... take your time and explore every little area for hidden treasure and enjoy the level disign. I've had it for about a week and I'm only on the second area ( in the Thailand jungles). Iv'e seen discussions on TR or Uncharted on wich is the better game. For me, it's definately TR. One reason is the lock on ability. Uncharted does'nt have that I don't think. It's been a while since I've played that one. Also TR Underworld is a game you can come back to after you've beaten it. I've always liked Lara Croft and she keeps looking better in every game. I reccomend this to any action adventure fan. And she's back finally to raid tombs again, no cities or dance clubs, and also no time attack button presses, which ruind Anniversary. Tomb Raider Underworld - 10/10
Rated 8 out of 10 by boboruler good, solid game
Being a long time tomb raider fan I was interested in how the playstation 3 tomb raider would come out. First off the game and character models look amazing! The sound is also very solid. I've seen a couple glitches here and there but have overlooked them due to stellar graphics. the only thing i have to complain about is the controls and camera. the controls are so sensitive to the point where it takes a while to line yourself up for a jump, also the camera can make it so its impossible to make a jump. The controls kind of take away from the game a little but not much. The combat is great. One thing that got me down was that you automatically start out with all the weapons so you really have no incentive to go look around except for the treasures. I definitely recommend this game to all fans of the action/adventure genre.
Rated 0 out of 10 by TR Fan I JUST PLAYED THE DEMO!!!
I just downloaded the demo onto my PC and the graphics and gameplay are AMAZING! There are a few areas where the controls were a little difficult to make her do what I needed. It is a bit frustrating, but I eventually got it to work out. There are some cool new moves and even with the control glitches, it will be well worth it to purchase. The graphics on the PC look realistic. It was crazy! Lara has new moves and actually interacts with her surroundings -- brushing away tall plants as she walks by, jumping off of the back of tigers that are trying to attack her, and more. She has some balancing issues on the PC, but I imagine they will use the SIXAXIS controller to fix that on the PS3. One major draw back that I noticed on the demo and I hope it isn't part of the full version was that you cannot look around. The camera automatically adjusts. There were several times that this prevented me from seeing where I needed to go. Once on the edge of a cliff, the camera was facing forward and the area that I needed to jump onto was to my left. I didn't notice it until I ran around a couple of times to get the camera angle to change. I can't wait to play the full game. Its pretty sweet!
Rated 10 out of 10 by TopherTide Beautiful and Challenging...Just a Hair Short
The graphical detail and controls are phenomenal. Anyone who is a fan of the action/adventure genre needs to pick this up ASAP. The game isn't as pristine graphics-wise as compared to Uncharted (which in my personal opinion has the best textural graphics out of any game made thus far) however, the graphics are much more varied and it is clear that the art team did an amazing job bringing these locations to life. Also, be prepared for an extreme mental challenge. The challenge in this game isn't so much about shooting baddies, but figuring out where to go next and how to get there, immense environments with thousands of possibilities may frustrate at times, but the challenge pays off in the end. Of course there are bad guys to deal with to, including an awesome finishing move. If I do have to say one thing, which is sadly way to common place these days, is that the game did need to be longer, it can be beaten within a day if that's your focus for the day. The only reason I don't put too much stress on that is the fact that that seems to be the industry standard nowadays for action/adventure which is depressing, but true.
