An Exciting Game, Well Worth the Price
I has been over almost a year since this game had a review, so I thought that I would go ahead and break it's streak. I was a fan of Ace Combat, but the PS3 installment left me disappointed, so I hung up the flight sims for a while. I decided to try H.A.W.X out mainly because of it's $10 price tag. The missions in single player are really fun, and can be quite challanging, I really enjoyed what I tried so far. But it is the online that makes this game worth its salt.

Best PS3 Flight Simulator.
Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. is the best flight game I have ever played it has a lot of jets, a cool first person view and good controls. The game play is fun and online i find extremely fun. I love the lock on and machine gun features! I would recommend this to any jet enthusiast!

The Bomb Diggity!!!!
I really enjoy playing H.A.W.X. I have been playing a lot of online versus, it reminds me of Call of Duty, where you gain experience and upgrades. Currently, I'm at level 31 going on 32. I highly recommend it to Ace Combat fans and others alike. In the game, the developers used real global satellite images of real cities and terrain. I beat the game and I'm trying to master all the challenges. The graphics are amazing and the selection of planes are great. I eventually hope that Tom Clancy or others will come out with a HELICOPTER SIMULATOR, like these games. It's about time they do because there are multiple World War II and modern aircraft games available. We NEED HELICOPTERS!!! Additionally, get another controller and play CO-Op to gain experience and rank up. Please get this game....It's hours of flying fun!!!!

Tom Clancy: Disappointment
Disappointing is a good way to describe it. The graphics is excellent, but other than that the doesn't deliver the same level that other tom clancy games do. Many aircraft models look accurate, but don't behave like their real life counterparts. The most obvious when standing the plane on knife edge and upside down, the plane maintains level flight, completely inaccurate. The YF-12 Blackbird maxes out at ceiling of just over 15k feet, the real blackbird can fly more than twice that altitude. In cockpit view, the crystal glass Head Up Display is inactive, which takes away a lot from playing the game like a real fighter pilot. This game is acceptable to people looking for just a shooting game, other than it doesn't offer the excitement of real life flying combined with arcade air combat that ace combat delivers.

Best Flight Game Ever
One word, AMAZING. I recently bought this game for my new Ps3 and im blown away by the realism, like it feels like im in the game. Becides the fact that this game has a short story line its great, and this is easily made up for by the great multiplayer, a must have for your library. This game really puts you in the pilots seat and offers a large array of missions and objectives to complete. Also there are tons of planes that you can unlock along with tons of goals that give you more weapons for the large multiplayer. The controls for this game are super responsive, and for a better experience you can select the flight motion detector which allows you to use the movement of your controller to manuver your plane. And if your just in the mood to play around there is a free flight mode which is a good way to waste time : )

GREAT BALLS OF FIRE!!
Yeah it's like that! Everything about this game is AWSOME! The graphics are top notch and the gameplay is intense. I've read reviews from die hard Ace Combat fans on how this game is lacking in certain areas, particularly raggin on the "assistance off" mode. Personaly, I think this mode was very a nice touch. Granted it takes some practice at first, but once you've mastered this mode you'll have the edge in any dogfight. The story line is better than AC as well. It's Tom Clancy so it takes place in the future of "our Earth" and not some fake alternate reality earth with fake continients and made up nationalities. I also like the leveling up system to earn more planes and weapons. The single player mode is a little short ,but the co-op mode and versus modes are really good and give the game it's replay value. Bottom line, if you like AC and combat flight sims in general, you will really enjoy this game!!!

Not a real flight sim, and not Ace Combat
The idea was great... this could have been a great game, but for me it's pretty much worthless without it's multi-player side. The storyline is terrible and way too short, all of the single player missions are far too easy, off mode only has one bizarre, virtually useless, camera angle, To top it off, you can't even get all of the same views that you can in the Ace Combat series, which renders the superb graphics almost useless. Couple this with the many glaring inaccuracies like F-14s having ailerons instead of spoilers and it just makes for a very hokey game. If you've got a few hours to kill rent it, but if you ever enjoyed true flight sims like Falcon 4.0 or F-15 strike eagle III this will infuriate you more than the standard console based "flight sims" I guess HAWX has followed in the foot steps of the rainbow six games... they're no longer challenging, thought and FPS intensive, like when they were on PC, now they're just cheesy console games.

Great game for combat flyers
Every one will enjoy this intense single or coop game great fun in the sky.. This game is the bomb LOL... everyones got to get it. great sound, graphics, and controls. ENHANCED REALITY SYSTEM (E.R.S.) - E.R.S. is in-game technology that helps turn novice aviators into elite pilots of the future. The Enhanced Reality System is the backbone of the HAWX flight experience: radars and incoming missile detection, anti-crash system, damage control system, tactical map and information relay, and weapons trajectory control. E.R.S. also allows players to issue orders to their squadron, making this system as iconic to HAWX as the Cross-Com system is to Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. ASSISTANCE MODE Players can ease into their flight missions and gain a level of comfort with the use of the assistance mode. Once employed, players can take full advantage of their technological support through the E.R.S and gain maximum piloting security. If the situation calls for the player to unleash the full potential of the aircraft, the assistance mode can be switched off and all safety features will be deactivated. This comes with increased risks, but allows the player advanced dogfighting maneuvers and stunning third-person views. REVOLUTIONARY MULTIPLAYER - For the first time ever in the air-combat genre, players will be able to experience the entire solo campaign in four-player JUMP IN co-op mode. In PVP mode, players can challenge up to 15 friends in intense dogfighting sessions and find out who's the top gun. Winning players are rewarded with experience points and money to unlock more weapons. REALISM AND AUTHENTICITY Players have the opportunity to take the throttle of over 50 of the world's most famous aircrafts, as well as being able to dogfight over realistic modern landscapes that have endured years of post-war trauma. I mean what else can you ask for in a flying cobat game. Its the best its going to get.. trust me you got to get it.

You'll have your hair on fire....
I wasn't sure about this game, but it seemed to get above average reviews, so i gave it a shot, and I'm very glad I did. I really like the graphics and sound. The missions are challenging, but not impossible. There is a large number of varied aircraft to choose from, with the ability to use different types of weapons. There is a COD4 type level up system. You rank up as you earn experience from various mission objectives, as well as PS3 trophies. The unassisted flight controls are a little tough to get used to. It is not the typical behind the fighter or in the cockpit view, rather a third person from the side and rear of the aircraft. You can easily switch back and forth from this view and the standard assisted, which is behind the aircraft. I find myself using both for different targets. Unassisted works well for dogfights where assisted is great for tough to reach ground targets. I highly recommend this game.
