The Sims 3 Pets
Surpasses expectations for all previous games.
When you think of The Sims console versions, none really hold up well against it's PC ancestor. Yet Sims 3 Pet's is a refreshing approach to a otherwise struggling console franchise. There are a few minor setbacks, such as laggy moments and numerous load screens, but for me the load screens didn't take very long (average 10-20 seconds) and the lag was hardly noticeable (like the pc version). A small setback is the lack of some popular breed's of dogs and cats. (they didn't have any dachshunds!) But put that aside and you have a game that more than speaks for it's ancestors on the pc. Really didn't have high expectations and yet I still find myself entertaining my sim and finding ways to acheive goals and nurture my numerous pets. A really cool new feature is the Mystery missions that make your sim into a everyday sherlock holmes, solving creepy riddles at Goth cemetary and having your trust pet with you ever step of the way. All in all I give this new Sims game a 8 out of 10 and I can safely say The Sims 3 Pets is the best new addition for the console franchise.
