Thanks for the trophies you lack luster game...
Well, I rented this thankfully because it is awful. I first played it because I thought it would be cool, but then I realized that all it does is cause frustration. I mean it glitches like crazy and the voices are annoying as well as playing the same level over an over again.... Despite it saying that I am advancing. The textures never change. However I played through this game because it has a lot of Gold Trophies and it is easy to obtain the Platinum Trophy. I regret even doing that. This is possibly the worst game I've played. Let me break it into pros and cons for you to understand...
Pros:
>Trophies are easy to get and are high level trophies
>It is funny to see the game freeze up while you are getting far in a mission and it is funny to see the game in general
Cons:
> The game's release!
Once again don't buy this game only rent it if you want the easy trophies for it... Hope this helps you determine if you want it. Happy gaming!
There are way better games.
Yes this is from 2009,but the game could've been more than a generic third person shooter. The gameplay is very average with the little variety of enemies and guns for a Terminator game and graphics look poor. The sound is very repetitive, with the loading music sounds like something bumping into metal. The only reason to play this is to maybe to play CO-OP or to get the trophies.
Spend your money elsewhere!
Terminator: Salvation is one of the worst games on the Playstation 3 in almost every area. The only cool thing in this game is the loading screen with the Terminator head that you can rotate with your analog stick. The trophies are very easy and takes about 5 hours to achieve them all. This game is easy even when setting the game to the hardest difficulty. There are one or two parts though that can be tough because the gameplay mechanics at random times. Pipe-bombs either can't be picked up or won't work even when you see the ground littered with them. The graphics are just horrible, with glitches everywhere. I highly recommend buying anything other than Terminator: Salvation.
Easiest Platinum Ever: 5 Hours
As the title states, I beat this 3rd person shooter on the hardest difficulty in five hours. The game is not challenging. You fight the same four types of bad guys throughout the entire, short campaign. I had low expectations for the game headed into it and only bought it to get ten or eleven gold trophies and a platinum. Do yourself a favor and play it on hard, by yourself not co-op and you WILL get the platinum trophy. It gives you the one for beating it on Medium even though you don't play it on that difficulty. Nice, right? One thing that really bothered me about this game was the sound. The explosions sounded so fake, it was embarrassing. It sounded like a really bad Playstation 1 or 2 game. Sometimes the people would randomly get really loud and that was annoying. There was a good deal of lag when there were lots of bad guys as well. As you see, this is a game that you buy, get the trophies, return it, and get a full refund. It is below average and you will have no desire to keep it in your game collection. Trust me.
amazing graphics, Amazing gameplay, Amazing game
Terminator salvation is rather short but fun. It was made very delicate and with a lot of work put into it. The game play is just fantastic and it is one of the greatest third person shooters that i found. If you saw the movie than you are probably going to be a big fan of the game. There is also a great use of weapons.Although the ratings are not that great you need to see the bigger picture of the game. Most people bash this game because of the game. The smash hit game Uncharted was only about 8 hours and had decent replay value just like Terminator Salvation. Its about 5 hours but has great replay value as well. So my point is a game can last forever if you want to just keep playing it. I can tell you you wont get board of this game. So go rent it if your not sure about or by a used copy and return it within a week at gamestop.
not that good.
If you've ever wondered why movie tie-in games have such a bad reputation, Terminator Salvation can provide an instructive example. Though this third-person shooter is technically sound, it seems to rely entirely on the presumption that you'll be so jazzed to be playing as characters from the movie that you won't notice how boring and shallow the action is. Most of the game has you jogging from skirmish to skirmish, fighting the same three enemies and using the same cover-and-flank maneuver. This quickly becomes repetitive despite the fact that the environments are diverse and detailed, and the few on-rails sequences fail to inject any substantial excitement into the proceedings. The campaign is only about five hours long, there is no online component, and the only multiplayer option is playing the campaign in split-screen mode. It's a sparse effort, yet it is brazenly offered at full retail price. Suffice it to say, it isn't worth it, and even Terminator fans looking for a weekend rental should prepare for disappointment.
I rented this game for the weekend and beat the whole thing, split screen, with my little brother, in about 5 hours. We practically passed levels with flying colors, since it was the same enemies every time. For example, the spider robot. All you have to do is shoot its red light with any gun, and go behind it, and shoot the hell out of its battery. Way to easy on multiplayer, and we were playing on normal, so don't say we were on easy. I wouldn't recommend this game to anybody who wants to play this game forever, like warhawk, or COD. The story line is basically just running from place to place, shooting T600s (Terminators) to rescue a group of lost soldiers. BORING!. The graphics are ok but not the best, along with the sound. It has no mulitplayer, making you take it back to where you rented it from once you're done with it. Personally, I wouldn't buy this game, since I like games which have multiplayer online. I hope you make the right choice!
Very Clean Game
Terminator salvation is a very clean and polished game just like the Uncharted series. The graphics are outstanding and the gameplay is fantastic. If you have seen the movie than you will love the game. Movie games were not so good for years until 2009 came when breakout smash hit games that were made from movies came out. Ghostbusters, Terminator, and many other yet to come out.Although ther is not a great variety of weapons the guns they do have are great. there are two great machine guns, a shotgun, a rocket launcher, and a few others. Terminator Salvation also has a great cover system, very similar to uncharted. Now since this game is so clean its NOT like gears of war witch would be like a wild college party game as Terminator Salvation would be like a game in the coffee shop. Very clean and put together well and with thought.people are saying the length is to short. Well its about 4 hours but there are 9 chapters with great replay value. So thankyou for listening to this review and i hope this made an impcat on your next tough game decision.
Should Have Stayed On The Assembly Line And Scrapped
This game was rushed during its production cycle by its creators just so it could coincide with the release of the Terminator movie to help hype up the game to sell more copies, very bad move because the game doesn't even feel like a terminator game and became very bored with it before even completing the first chapter. It's piss poor in every area except for the graphics and sound, i'd be embarrassed to call myself a game producer with a result from a game like this. If they wanted to know how to make a Terminator game or what direction/example to go in all they had to do was look no further than Terminator 3 on PS2, there was no need to rush this game out and would have sold many more copies if the game was made correctly with time used wisely in the production cycle.
The gameplay of this game was decent but everything else was really disappointing. The game took me about 4 hours to complete and then that was it. There was nothing else. There was only like 12 trophies and they were ALL gold except for the one platinum. They only took 4 hours also. I think the game wouldv'e been 10 times better and no one would complain if it had an online multiplayer. But all in all, this game is not a game to buy unless you want to repeat the campaign 800 times.
