Rated 4 out of 5 by from It was good. I haven't play any tales series since abyss. I honestly wanted to play this game when I saw it and I've seen reviews about it not being good but I honestly like it. The battle system isn't actually hard but very easy to use. I didn't really read much of the tutorials unless when I needed it and I figure out everything myself as I went. Fusing weapons is good and it's not hard to get the process once you've done it a couple times. The skits also explains it to you at one point if you rest at the inn enough. You do have to back track a lot till you're able to just warp from save points and if you want to gain more experience points from fighting. The monsters aren't too hard if you play on simple mode and if you look at their weakness or figure out on how to defeat them if there's no weakness. It wasn't too bad. You might have to do it a couple of times before you get it or figure out their patterns. I was able to defeat monsters that were 10 or 20 levels above me. The story itself was nice. You find a lot about what's going on with the world as chaos invades the land and the people. The main character, Sorey, is really eager to do something about the world once he acquires the power to do so. He's not oblivious to things, sometimes, and he loves exploring ruins. His childhood friend, Mikleo, who has the same interest as him, stays by his side and helps him as he treads through the malice and bring peace to the world along with seraph's and humans they meet. (I like listening to the Japanese voices more than the English but both were good.) The character's growth were good but also kinda slow. There's really no romance unless you want to use your imagination but it's really just friends and sticking together. There are times when some things doesn't make sense but it doesn't bother me much. I had hope there would be more parts about Mikleo since the story focused more on the other. Not saying it was bad but I would've liked if he got more attention just as much. Overall, the story and the characters were good with some faults here and there, and the music is great. The dlc depends on you, the player, to judge whether you like it or not but honestly, I feel that the characters were a bit out of character and it seem tedious going through the dungeon but there are some things you do find out about the main character after the end of the final boss fight.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A welcome addition to the Tales series as a long running fan of the Tales series having played vesperia, graces f, abyss, xillia, xillia 2, and symphonia chronicles i must say the additions added in zestiria are a nice change in the right direction and cant wait for the next installment to the series to see what it brings

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great game, been looking forward to for a while I go t the game yesterday and played for about 5 hours the story line so far is very good with very detailed cut scenes. I like the new battle system is different from some of the older tales games but works out so much better. still a lot to look forward to but it was worth the preorder
