Product Details:

12th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards Winner: Outstanding Achievement in Adapted Story The Star Wars saga continues in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. You are Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice! The Dark Lord of the Sith himself has trained you to use a lightsaber and unleash the power of the Force, but now your destiny is your own. Will you join Vader as the next great Sith, or will you choose to defend peace and justice as a noble Jedi Knight? The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.

As its name implies, The Force Unleashed completely re-imagines the scope and scale of the Force by taking full advantage of newly developed technologies that will be seen and experienced for the first time: Digital Molecular Matter (DMM), by Pixelux Entertainment, and euphoria by NaturalMotion Ltd. Paired with the powerful Havok Physics system, these new technologies create gameplay only possible on the new generation of consoles. DMM incorporates the physical properties of anything in the environment so that everything reacts exactly like it should - wood breaks like wood, glass shatters like glass, plants on the planet Felucia bend like plants on the planet Felucia would, and more. Meanwhile, as a revolutionary behavioral-simulation engine, euphoria enables interactive characters to move, act and even think like actual human beings, adapting their behavior on the fly and resulting in a different payoff every single time.
  • During the period between Episodes III and IV, players hunt Jedi in the role of Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice.
  • Unleash and upgrade the Secret Apprentice's four core Force powers - Force push, grip, repulse and lightning - throughout the course of the game, and combine them for ultra-destructive, never-before-seen combos.
  • Examples of unleashing the Force in ways never thought possible:
    - The Secret Apprentice won't just Force push enemies into walls - he'll Force push enemies through walls.
    - The Secret Apprentice won't just Force grip foes to throw them aside - he'll Force grip them in midair, zap them with lightning, then drop them to the ground to explode like a bomb.
  • In addition to new adversaries created just for the game, such as fugitive Jedi and Force-sensitive Felucians, players will also confront and associate with familiar faces from the Star Wars films, including Darth Vader.
  • Visit locations such as Episode III's Wookiee homeworld Kashyyyk and the floral Felucia, the junk planet Raxus Prime, plus an Imperial TIE fighter construction facility.
  • Decisions made by players throughout the game will determine the path of the story, including multiple endings that will rock Star Wars continuity as they know it.
  • The Force Unleashed is LucasArts' first internally developed title for next-generation consoles, and it represents the first in-game collaboration of talents and technology between LucasArts and Industrial Light & Magic, two companies now finally under one roof at the new Letterman Digital Arts Center in San Francisco's Presidio district.
  • The Force Unleashed debuts Digital Molecular Matter from Pixelux and euphoria behavioral simulation from NaturalMotion Ltd.
  • LucasArts is preparing an unprecedented promotional effort around the launch of The Force Unleashed, encompassing a full line of toys and game-based action figures from Hasbro, as well as a full publishing program from Dark Horse, Del Rey and Palace Press.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Originally when I first played this game it was on the psp. While the graphics looked good on the psp they look so much better on the ps3. Plus the things that you have to do to progress through the game are totally different. Even though I'm only on the second level of the game, I can tell it's going to be better than the psp version. The Force Unleashed is perfect for the diehard Star Wars fans that want to find out about Darth Vader's secret apprentice codenamed Starkiller

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very solid effort Star Wars is one of my all-time favorite series in the history of fiction. I love the main six movies (deal with it) and the video games, most of the time, turn out to be well made. The Force Unleashed is no exception. The graphics were great at the time and the gameplay is very solid. The sound and music come straight from the movies so it perfect in my book. My only gripe is that I wish the lightsaber combat was a bit more fluid. Compared to Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith for the PS2, the combat feels a bit repetitive and stiff. But it's still a great effort and it's cheap so their is no reason not to buy it. Recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Good When I first bought this game and played it, I quickly got bored and stopped playing it after a couple of days. A week later, I was bored so I popped it into my PS3 and started to play. After getting a bunch of different melee combos, it was incredibly fun!!! I played it for hours every day!! It is pretty long and the graphics are great!!!!!!! People say that the second one was bad because it was short, but it looked like everything else was upgraded!!! I can't wait to get the second game.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for Star Wars fanboys meh for the rest This game's mechanics are so bad. I did go platinum with it in like a week but I'm reviewing the gameplay not trophies. The controls are glitchy the graphics look like a PS2 Game. If you're not a "Die Hard" Star Wars fan don't get this game. The only reason it has appeal compared to many other similar Hack n Slash kind of games is the Star Wars fans. 100 collectibles with levels that all look the same and do the same moves again, again, and again. Like I said if you love star wars pick it up. If not Use your five bucks for some Burger King or somethin

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Makes for an actual star wars movie than a game When I first heard of this game, I was hyped! The trailer looked awesome and it took place between the ep.III and IV, and when I finally got it, it surpassed all my expectations. But there are still problems with it that I have to address. Whats good about this game? Well the story is awesome! It feels like an actual star wars film more those prequel movies. And the game-play is an awesome idea, But it is very limited. and when I say limited I mean kinda dated. First off, there is literally no multiplayer in this game, just a heads up. and the game can get pretty boring after a few plays, but hey, at least there are some unlockables for you to collect. It's pretty much not the best star wars game, that probably being KOTOR, but it might definently be in the top ten. I beleive you should give it a try. =)
