Product Details:

New York City Has Been Invaded And Only Spider-Man Can Save It. The Fate of New York Is In Your Hands...TAKE CONTROL. Spider-Man: Web of Shadows Gives You an Unprecedented Level of Gameplay Choice, Including For the First Time, Control Over The Game's Direction And Outcome. Choose How Spider-Man Fights, Which Powers to Upgrade, Who In the Marvel Universe To Fight With or Against, And The Fate Of New York City Itself. Choose Wisely.

  • Overhauled Combat System Provides Deepest Arsenal Ever: A reengineered combat system fuses Spider-Man's speed and strength to create deadly new attacks and combos. For the first time ever in a Spider-Man game, players can take the fight vertically and combat foes on city walls, where only Spider-Man holds the advantage.
  • Gamers Control Their Fighting Experience: At a moment's notice, gamers can switch between the agile grace of Spider-Man's Red Suit and the savage power of the Black Suit, creating some of the most devastating combos ever seen in a Spider-Man game.
  • Players Can Customize Their Ideal Spider-Man: Players earn experience in multiple combat disciplines, allowing them to custom-design their ideal Spider-Man. Points awarded during battle can be used across unique paths to upgrade the Red Suit and Black Suit, allowing players complete control over the style and moves they take into combat.
  • Every Choice Counts: Dependant on the gamer's actions and decisions, a morality meter will gauge whether citizens cheer Spider-Man on or run away in fear. Spider-Man's actions as hero or vigilante, based on choices at key points in the game, will affect how the fate of New York vs. alien invasion ends.
  • Side With Marvel's Greatest Heroes and Villains: Luke Cage or Vulture? Wolverine or Electro? Gamers can control who will ultimately aid them in the fight to rid New York of its alien symbiote. Alliances with Marvel's greatest heroes and most notorious villains hold consequences, as heroic and vigilante paths hold different destinies. Call upon your allies with the push of a button to combine forces for epic Hero Strikes!
  • A Living, Breathing New York City Under Siege: Next-generation technology provides gamers with an added dimension of interactivity - destroy store fronts, demolish vehicles and grab anything in your path to use as a weapon. Devastated by the invasion, New York City is itself transformed with enormous, hanging symbiote hives and infected symbiotes, providing gamers with epic never-before seen visuals and enemies.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Spider-man:Web of Shadows is an average game. Spider-man:Web of Shadow is a slightly above average game. You usually get stuck in a few hard levels in your average game, but in this game I don't remember a time when I couldn't beat a level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best Spider-Man games out there! This is truly one of the best Spider-Man games to date. With a smooth and fluid web swing mechanic to a great combat system you cant go wrong here. I urge anyone who is thinking about buying this game to NOT listen to the so called "critics" who don't know a good spider man game when they see one. This game also has a great story with a symbiote zombie style infection griping New York. Player will definitely love the morality system and are able to see what would happen if spidey where to be evil and listen to the symbiote's demands in become a full on villain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad, but repetitive This game is pretty good, you can easily switch between the red and black suit Spider-Mans at ANY time, and both are amazing, although I slightly prefer the black due to the tendril attack. The combat is great, it has plenty of combos and specials, although after a while you find yourself doing the same thing all the time. I loved just swinging around the city, climbing up buildings, destroying stuff, and beating up enemies out of any enemies I see, the game has plenty of side-missions, so it has lasting value, if you can get past how repetitive it is. The plot is interesting enough, but I was quite confused at the beginning, it just throws you right into the action with no explanation, but then you play through everything that takes place before that. I wasn't a big fan of the voice-acting, seriously, Spider-Man sounded like a little kid, but besides that the sound was good. The graphics weren't very realistic, not great, but that's to be expected from a 2008 game. One other minor complaint about the game, is that the movement feels like something in between using the arrows and analog stick. The game does get very repetitive fast, seriously, after a little while I was only playing for the story, and I took it back before the rental was up, you literally do the same thing in every mission and side mission run somewhere, beat up many Symbiotes or gangsters for different reasons, then go back, and repeat; but if you get past the repetitiveness, or you don't think it is, you can get hours of gameplay out of it if you do a lot of side-missions, but if you stick to the main story only, it should take you little time to finish the game. This game would've been PERFECT for Co-op play, but they left that out. Another plus to the game, is that you can choose to stick to the red suit or embrace the black suit as part of the story, the black suit path is more of an evil way, not necessarily evil, but more selfish, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite spiderman game so far This game was awsome. I have not played the amazing spiderman yet but this game is so far my favorite spiderman game to date. It has great graphics, story, and game play. My only complaint would be that the voice acting was not the best but other than that it is one of the best games out there.
