by L3GNAA *Stop!* here me out
Despite what others are saying i really did enjoy my copy of Spec Ops: The Line. This is my first game review so its gonna go like this; I'll say something i liked about the game and then followed by something i didn't like about it. GAME-PLAY was very good to be honest, i really don't have that much cash on me so i never had the owner of pleasure many 3rd person shooter games, so to play a game like this feels revolutionary to me. I did have problems with the controls though, when ever i wanted to vault over cover my character would instead melee what ever i was trying to vault over. SOUND is really terrific from the gun shots to the punches being delivered by an execution. GRAPHICS were a bit odd for me not sure if it was meant to look like that or because it was on PS3 because Ive tried the Spec Ops demo for xbox360 and it looked a lot better visually on their but it doesn't matter i just tricked my brain to make it seem like it was a comic book FPS. The LASTING APPEAL is fine if your a trophy collecter like me theirs enough reason to go back without having to just go though individual chapters and redo a specific level. But if your only planning on going the game once i wouldn't recommend this game to you. Thanks for hearing me out.
Rated 8 out of 10 by MattC Very Good Game with a few flaws
Spec Ops the Line is overall a pretty good game. The game has an interesting, but very twisted story and it also leaves you thinking. This game is not a generic third person shooter, thanks to some moments in this game (like the helicopter section in the beginning) and its story. The gameplay is very fun at times. The multiplayer in this game was not bad. The only problems I have with this game is the game was the lack of choices, the game's brutality slightly to moderately ruining the fun for me, the not too good controls and the gameplay was slightly repetitive. These are minor things, though. This game is quite similar to Uncharted 3 since the setting is in the Middle East, it has worn down, abandoned buildings, has a sandy levels, is a third person shooter, has a multiplayer which seems like it would be bad, but is not, is story rich and has a main character that is voiced by Nolan North. The differences are Spec Ops the Line has a darker theme, is more much intense, focuses on morality and is a military game. If you want to play this game, I recommend that you actually do play this game.
Final Verdict: 88/100

Actually sat down to download the demo of this one only seconds ago and found the opening to be really engulfing. I actually read up on this one by-way of a magazine article and the concept behind Spec Ops The Line is a really unique one. This game seems to want to offer MORE* to the player looking to experience combat (Even if simulated) than some of the titles out now. Let's all just be honest here, how many MORE* times are you Call of Duty MW lovers going to keep buying the same game OVER and OVER? So they add a character here or a weapon there? So WHAT? It's still the same game! Spec Ops seems to FINALLY offer something that the player can really get into, and it has a nice look to it as well. Even my father, who is a retired military buff (served his time in the desert) said that this game actually had that same feel to it as he sat behind me while I trekked through the first few minutes of this one. Not only that, but the acting and voiceovers are a HUGE* stepup over Ice Cube and his work in COD - MW... No Comment on that one. I'll be adding SO-TL to my list of games and being that it comes out next month - I'll certainly be picking it up.

Im not really new to the gaming world, im just new to online play. I've looked at the game and also all the other shooting, rpg, sporting, etc... games that are coming out this year and I admit this game keep me kinda wondering if this is real. I always knew someone would come out with a game like this and once again my dreams have been answered. The idea of bringing real military tactics (not just shooting, objectives, teamwork, squad help, etc....) but real thinking, like a updated version of the COD collection, but really thinking about the unnone. Figureing out the gameplan before the mission is only half the battle, its what you have to do when something goes wrong is the key, and assuming that the videos and screens are right thats what this game brings to the table.

I just played the demo of Spec-Ops: The Line and I was really surprised. Before playing the demo I was skeptical of the game worrying that the game-play was going to feel clunky and just be another cheesy game. After the demo though I went and reserved the game. The gun-play felt smooth and responsive and the controls were good. The game-play over all is nothing new, but it still feels top of the line. The aspect of the demo that really stood out was the story. The story is no cliche tough guy story, it is a psychological story that has an eerie feel to it. The atmosphere itself is unsettling and eerie. The game did not have any cheesy one liners, so nothing felt Call of Dutyish. This is the next big shooter that I am looking forwards to. It is already pre-ordered and payed off.

I wrote maybe some hasty comments about this game being delayed so often , but now I am taking them all back ! I think this game will deliver some great action and as for graphics a little on the desert side like Uncharted that meaning purty good ! and the way I look at the shooting this kicks Uncharted off the map because when you shoot someone they are down ! the cover looks good and i'm not quite sure about the story it seems to be you grasp more as you continue ? I just downloaded I AM ALIVE not to compare , but I like that game and as for the results i've seen with this it will be a keeper , I also like 2K like Mafia 2 , love those 3rd person games and this one as long as the team AI responds which is always a big plus ! I am sold on it !!!

This is a fun game for sure. I hate but love the fact you can't run and gun. Ammo is hard to come by for certain guns so you will be picking up a lot of other guns or you better get better at using your Pistol (which I'm doing). I think the only weapon that I've used so far that I didn't like is the turrets, that gun would be a little better if it gave you some type of cross hair or let you switch to first person so you can actually see where the gun is aiming. Other then that I have no complaints, I like the sand storms, graphics, music, and the plot. The craziest and darkest part of this game that I've encountered so far is when you get to use White Phosphorus (Willie Pete), talk about some crazy scenes in the game.

Must say, Good Graphics And everything, Single player is amazing has a good story to it also funny. Weapons and killing enemies seem addicting and not repetitve. I dont know why people say multiplayer is horrible, it is actually pretty fun and different, theres sandstorms that go threw while ur in a match and it wipes off ur camera. I dont think this is a CODFAN game , if u are one. its third person and yes it is different from COD. But its a third person that left me happy in the end. Only reason why people rate it bad is because they want something to beat mw3 . this game at least has a good story to it and gameplay for a third person. if ur lookin for a first person then yea. search somewhere else buddy.

Spec Ops The Line offers something most games often don't - a stellar campaign story. It sets the bar and it's dark and mature narrative is amazing and the end is even better. It really makes you think about your desicions and the people you're killing. It shows that there is not a happy ending in war. The gameplay is mostly smooth. The shooting works fairly easy and is pretty fun. The vault and melee button are the same but I have never run into a problem with that. The sound is great and goes really well with the game. Graphics are good but not tr best I've ever seen. Now to the multiplayer. The multiplayer is has a smaller community but you can still find games very easily. The multiplayer offers a lot of customization which is cool. The games are 4v4 so it can be slow at times if you don't know where the action is. The multiplayer seems like it has different graphics but they're still good.I actually like and enjoy te multiplayer unlike some of the other reviews. It's definitely fun to play with friends. They are going to be adding in co-op for free soon. Spec Ops may not be one of the best selling games this year but is certainly one of the greatest. I would reccomend this game if you are looking for a game with an actual story that is interesting, unique, dark, and enjoyable.
