The biggest reason I bought this collection was for Shinobi Arcade! I'm a gamer who's been playing games for over 25 years now and I remember those days in the arcade and even at home when a shiny new Sega game was in hand ready to play. This is a jam packed collection of some great classics. There are more than enough games to keep the classic gamer in you satisfied. The Phantasy Star series is of special note as all the original Genesis versions are on here including the original Master System version. Some of the games are more of a miss than a hit. I would have liked to see originals like Last Battle or Space Harrier 2 on there. Some of the weaker games in the collection Ristar, Super Thunderblade, Alien Storm, Golden Axe 3 are a little more obscure or low quality. It would have been nice to see an unlockable arcade version of Golden Axe: Death Adder's revenge since it never came home to the consoles. All in all there are more high quality classic titles on here than there are bad ones. It's a solid collection that any older gamer and even some younger ones will enjoy! For the price it's worth every penny!

Saw an article that talked about Sega revealing the hidden unlockable games to add to the large collection of titles already available! A couple of them are very noteworthy if you're an older gamer who remembers arcades from way back when. So here they are! Alien Syndrome (Arcade) Altered Beast (Arcade) Congo Bongo (Arcade) Fantasy Zone (Arcade) Golden Axe Warrior (Master System) Phantasy Star (Master System) Shinobi (Arcade) Space Harrier (Arcade) Zaxxon (Arcade) I'm especially looking forward to finally having an arcade port of the original Shinobi arcade game! It was one of my most favorite games to play back then! Phantasy Star 1 was one of the best RPG's of the early 8 bit era far outclassing anything Nintendo had to offer at the time. Space Harrier was a great one as well! The price tag is just right for a fun trip down memory lane!
Rated 10 out of 10 by ZeroBoards.net Great collection!
This is a great collection. I wasn't able to pick it up today, I'm going tomorrow to get my copy, but i hear it's a very awesome collection of old classics from the Genesis such as Streets of Rage 1, 2 and 3, Shinobi, Altered Beast, Phantasy Star 1, 2, 3 and 4, Sonic 1-3 and Knuckles, among other great classics. Get this if you loved the sega genesis/megadrive. I'm looking forward to playing through Streets of Rage again. I only have my original copy of the 2nd game, Streets of Rage 2 which is a follow-up of the first one. I would love to play through the first game again. I also want to replay through all the sonics. I heard there will be downloadable content such as more genesis titles you can purchase from the PSN store in the future. I hope this is true because that would be awesome! GET THIS GAME!

I rented this game I might buy it.It si very fun to play there is alot of games I never even played them all yet.It will take a long time to beat cus there is alot of games.I gave the graphics a 5 because they are old games so there not great. The storyline a 4 because there is no story your just playing old games. The controlls are outstanding they are easy to get used to.The sound is a 7 because they are old games they don't have good sound. My favorite games are the two player games. It is not so fun without playing with a friend or a brother. The game is cheap and there are alot of games tons of fun to play. There are even trophies in it to so that should also keep you occupied.I wish they had more shooters though.I reccomend this to everyone.
Rated 9 out of 10 by gamefan4564 best collection of retro games I've played
so, do you love the 16 bit era? if you do, or you're not old enough to know what the genesis or it's good first party games were, you'll like this game. most of these games may be 2d platformers or beat em up games, but these really were quality games back in the early 90s. and there's going to be people who like certain games, and people who like other games in this collection. that's what makes this so great. I don't really know how many games are on this collection, and there are some unlockable master system and arcade games to. it's also cheaper than downloading games off nintendo's virtual console

I wonder if they have added a save point feature to the PS3 with these old games? I know personally I LOVED the Sega Genesis and had it the day it came out, the only thing is, I hated how there was NO save points, being as this feature was not available with the technology at its time. I can remember playing Sonic the Hedgehog and leaving the console on for days at a time and telling my family NOT to touch the TV or console till I had Sonic the Hedgehog beat. I hope they added a save point feature to these old games!

I take off my hat to Sega for making this package. It includes a number of great classic games that is sure to keep a person entertained for hours. That and the fact the games will be optimized for HD is far worth the price tag. Get this game when it is released and relive the glory days of gaming. Only downside is that people who own the 360 won't enjoy this great collection. Good thing I own both consoles.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Shadow17201 why was I born in 96?
I was born in the wrong time. I still love the games now a days but I love the games from back then and theirs hardly any bands that I like nowadays. My first 2 systems being the n64 and gbc almost always finishng the games. I even learned how to read from Mario games. but this is about good ol' Sega. I still love their games but you can't beat the classics. My favorite games on here are Sonic, Ristar, Golden Axe, and Vectorman. Now a lot of people say Sonic sucks now adays but I have played every Sonic game except for the ones on GBA and the only ones I don't like are Sonic Drift, Sonic The Hedgehog(2007 just a little hard to understand what to do especially with Silver), and Sonic The Fighters. All they need to make is games like Sonic Unleashed but with less Warehog and a little easier 3d controls. This game is the ultimate completion ever made. All I want now is a Sonic's Ultimate Dreamcast collection with the Sonic Adventure series, Jet Grind Radio(one of my favorites), and Shenmue. I'd also like Mario's Ultimate Nintendo Collection with The Mario Series up to Paper Mario, Zelda series up to Majora's Mask(2nd best, number 1 being Wind Waker), Star Fox, and Super Smash Bros. I wouldn't mind a Sony's Ultimate Playstation collection either. Anyway all I can say about this is it has some of the best Sega games with some of the best graphics, less than 50cents a game, and it probably takes longer to beat this than a Final Fantasy game. If you want a the ultimate Genesis collection all thats missing is Sonic 2&3 & Knuckles and Maximum Carnage(third party).
