excellent way to improve
I've been playing acoustic guitar for 5-7 years previous to buying rocksmith. I know my way around the guitar and can play chords all day, but I've always been weak at playing leads or picking single notes. Rocksmith PROS: This game can teach you (in my opinion) what would be difficult to learn on your own or through an instructor. You learn fretboard muscle memory such as what fret your fingers are on without having to stare at the fretboard. You learn some interesting concepts like slides, bends, hammer ons, tremelo. Rocksmith CONS: The game doesn't focus on music theory so much but maybe this is a good thing. You learn the important parts and I guess you can pick up on theory after the fact. You learn how to pick through scales but not _why_ the scales are written the way they are. Also I should mention i have not played through every aspect of the game, I may not have stumbled across theory lessons. The game is a little slow transitioning between screens like post and pre song screens. I hope the developers continue with rocksmith 2+! One final note - this game is not for gamers, it's for musicians.

Better than expected even!
I just got this game as a suprise gift 2 days ago and im loving it! I was tracking it for a few months and couldnt decide whether or not to drop all the money on the bundle. Luckily I got it as a gift instead, however it is definitly worth the price. I havent experienced any lag or other problems so far except my fingers hurt! (user error) I should probably say that i've never played guitar before now. I'm gonna stick with it for sure and learn everyday.

Beyond insane, I think...
I'm not exactly sure what I've gotten myself into. It's a lot of fun, but pretty hard for me. likely because I never picked up a guitar before today. Definitely a challenge, but one that I'm up for. Can't wait to experience all that this game has to offer. The graphics are nothing to write home about, but that doesn't matter. Graphics are always secondary to gameplay in my view. What I like best about this game is the dynamic difficulty where as you start to get the notes down, the game sees this and adds more to it. It works the other way as well where if you're missing notes, it will scale back in difficulty. Another cool feature is the section where they explain and show you in detail, how to perform the many different techniques you'll be using. also with the same dynamic difficulty. All in all, I think this does a fairly good job of teaching you how to play the guitar. This one definitely has staying power. It's gonna be a part of my collection for a long time. I'm excited to see what they come up with next. I can say this with nearly 100% certainty. If you're looking for something that takes the frustration out of learning the guitar, GET THIS GAME. You won't be sorry. Just don't expect me to post a video of my sad attempt at I Can't Get No Satisfaction :)

Not to happy!!! But on the game side it's a great learning tool show people how to play the guitar, and nothing like improving your skills

Super Stoked!
I've been waiting and waiting for this! I can play real guitar and I find it hard to play Guitar Hero and Rock Band sometimes. When I was looking at Ubisoft's work, I saw this and went crazy because there's finally a video game that allows you to plug in your real guitar.

Sounds Like A Winner
Watching the video previews and checking out the track list, I was thoroughly impressed. Until I started looking up all the songs I didn't recognize...And now I'm so EXCITED! Do yourself a favor if you have never heard of Best Coast or Tidus Andronicus, or any of these bands youtube them or something because you will get so pumped for this game. Unless you don't like music than don't bother. I know what I'm preordering next time I'm in gamestop.
