Plug in any real guitar and join over 1 million people who have learned with the award-winning Rocksmith method. Take the Rocksmith 60-Day Challenge and learn to play guitar in just 60 days.

A Proven Method

Rocksmith teaches you fast and effectively by letting you plug any real guitar or bass* directly into your Xbox 360® games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Windows® PC or Mac. Rocksmith becomes your personal teacher as it monitors how you play, dynamically adjusts the difficulty to your skill level, then slowly introduces more notes and phrases until you're playing your favorite songs note-for-note. * Requires 1/4" output jack

Innovative Design

It's the simplest way to learn guitar. Rocksmith is designed to match the way your guitar is laid out, so there's no need to interpret tablature or learn sheet music to get started. Have strings on your guitar? You'll see strings on the screen.

Session Mode

We'll flat out say it - Session Mode is the next great innovation in music software. For the first time ever, you can jam with a virtual band that dynamically reacts to what you're playing. And the best part is, we'll teach you from the ground up how to improvise and jam.

The Rocksmith interface makes it easy to see what notes to play at what time without the need to also learn sheet music or tablature charts.
WHAT'S NEW: The menus have been redesigned to be clearer, smoother, and blazing fast. The in-game interface has also been visually revamped to provide you with better feedback on your performance as you play.

Hit Tracks

Play your favorite hit songs as they were recorded by the original artists, ranging from alternative rock to heavy metal, classic rock, and more. In Rocksmith, you always play real rock songs, note-for-note, with perfectly simulated effects and tones.
WHAT'S NEW: There are over 50 tracks all new to Rocksmith 2014 Edition including the biggest hits yet. It is also backwards compatible with songs you already own in the original Rocksmith.

Master Mode

Once you master a song, you can practice playing songs entirely from memory in Master Mode. It's the ultimate achievement in Rocksmith when you're able to walk away and play your favorite song anywhere.
WHAT'S NEW: Master Mode has been revamped based on your feedback to be a more approachable way to learn songs from memory. Now sections can be mastered one at a time, and will slowly fade-out until you're got them down.

Guitarcade mini-games make practicing chords, scales, bends, techniques, and muscle memory more fun than pure drills. Scoring tracks your progress and motivates you to hit that next level of achievement. It's yet another way Rocksmith makes learning guitar fun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Teaching Tool on PS3 You really do need to run this on PS3 to get the full benefit! Splitting the audio off the composite or component cable and putting analog sound into a receiver will yield the best results as far as latency. I've been playing for more years than I care to admit, and this "game" (not really a game in my opinion) has furthered my playing ability more in 2 days than I have on my own is several years. I'm playing chords I didn't know before, and more importantly I'm playing songs all the way through! It may be frustrating for new guitarists, but keep in mind learning an instrument is a lifetime commitment. If you can get past the basics, you will enjoy this skill for years to come!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE LAG CAN BE ELIMINATED!!! Like some who have had complaints about the game, I too experienced the audio lag the first time I played. I have been playing guitar for 19 years, and I was hoping this game would help me to grow as a guitarist. So needless to say the lag was very disappointing and ruined my first impression of the game. Next day however I did what all my man instincts usually prevent: I actually read the instructions. Here's the deal, there's an insert in the case with setup suggestions. Use that! I set it up by the first one, and the lag is gone. Totally different experience. Now I will be telling everyone I know with any interest in the guitar that they must have this game. I can't speak for everyone, but I would have to go out of my way to not improve as a player by playing this game.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not a very good teacher doesnt really teach you much, lags in sounds, condescending in game voice, doesnt really make you wanna keep playing, doesnt register the cords even on the simplest ones. feel very cheated having paid 200 dollars for this guitar hero wanna be game. and that is all it is, is a game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps you interested. I really debated on getting this game because I was afraid that I would get it, play through a few songs a bunch of times, struggle and lose interest. This is not the case. The first song I played was Knights of Cydonia and I am completely new to guitar but from the sound of the song it seems like a pretty advanced guitar song to start on. The game waters it down to begin with giving you about a note per measure and with the fret stickers that came with the game I had no trouble finding the right fret. After I played through the song I played some others and came back to Knights of Cydonia and the game had already started adding a couple more notes in places where I had done very well. I haven't spent much time on anything besides Learn a Song, but I am very pleased with it. The instructional videos are very helpful too. The only problem I have had with the game is that sometimes the tuner won't tune correctly, not sure if it is a problem with the game or the way I was strumming but I would play notes in song and it would say to move down a fret, when I knew I was on the right one. I would even skip parts of the song just to wait for that note to pop back up so I knew I would get it right and it would still tell me I was wrong. I started spending more time on tuning the guitar and I haven't noticed it really at all so it was probably just me rushing through the tuning process.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for beginners, bad for experienced guitarists I have been playing guitar for about 8 years. I figured I would give this game a try and see how it works. I noticed there is a slight lag between when you strum your guitar and when the note registers with the game. While beginners might not notice this. The further you progress through the game the more noticeable it becomes. Making difficult/fast riffs near impossible to play seamlessly. I will say that this game is a great way to get your feet wet with a guitar and would recommend it to anyone looking to begin playing. However if you can already play, just look up tabs/notation and learn the song the old fashioned way.
