Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City
Deserves Better Than Most Reviews
Numerous people and gaming sites have given Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City low reviews because of horrible AI, spotty aiming, auto-cover, etc. IGN gave this game a 4, GameSpot gave this a 4.5, but Raccoon City deserves better than these low scores. Operation Raccoon City takes place between Resident Evil 2 and 3, and you play from a new perspective as the Umbrella Security Service, killing any survivors or destroying evidence that Umbrella was in Raccoon City. The graphics for this game are top-notch and great, from the detailed gore and dismemberment of zombies to the lighting effects on clothes, even though this game is pretty dark. The sound for Operation Raccoon City is okay, footsteps and moans sounding great but almost every gun sounds the same. This game takes a new turn in the RE franchise, returning to the memorable locations of RE2, and even Leon makes an appearance in the Campaign. I also don't see how the auto-cover system was a con because I think the cover system was a good idea, even though you sometimes cling to walls. Though this game has many pros, there are a couple cons. The AI is pretty bad, to the point where your team barely helps you and sometime shoot at nothing. The reticle where you aim annoys me at some points, and when I turn, a red dot bounces around and sometimes doesn't even hit the enemy even after you've gone through a clip. There also isn't much character depth, which I would've loved to see, but isn't that big of a deal. I haven't beaten the Campaign yet, but I'm pretty sure it is going to be short considering I've only had this for a few hours and I'm on Mission 3-Lights Out, and there's about 6 or 7 missions. This game also supports online, where you can play through 4 different modes. Team Attack, where you play as U.S.S. or Spec Ops and earn points by killing creatures and enemys; Biohazard, a capture the flag type game but you collect G-Virus samples, Heroes (my favorite), where you control memorable characters of the franchise and try to kill the opposing team's characters; and Survivor, where each team must survive until a helicopter arrives, and not everyone will fit on the helicopter. The Versus on this game is a major plus. This game deserves better than the poor reviews by gaming sites. This is not a bad game for a Resident Evil fan, like me. Overall, 8/10. Great replay value.
got this for my b day thanks mom love ya
my mom bought me this for my b day she knows that i love resident evil franschise and she says she loves the movies and she enjoys watching me play the game and also great online and story and love the add on content
This is for hardcore Resident Evil fans
Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City is for hardcore Resident Evil fans. It's like Chapter zero for the whole Resident Evil franchise. Later Resident Evil 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 came out. So basically Leon Kennedy survives this game. It's like a horror movie. This game is really hard. It feels cool knowing Chapter zero from how the Resident Evil game started. Like a book. Each game on it's own is good. But knowing more information helps. Some things might be hard to see or take so this game is rated M for mature. Like for adults. This is not a child's game. It's for guys who can take horror games and survive.
i luv how u can play as the uss and the us military and dont forget the classic characters (leon, claire, jill, carlos, ada, hunk, nickoli, and lone wolf p.s. hes a new character)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! be ready to hear from me more with this game lollipop chainsaw, tomb raider, the last of us,tekken tag tournament 2, and resident evil 6 hint hint so ttyl :)
Stay away IF
You have been a fan of the Resident Evil franchise from the start. This game strays so far from what Resident Evil is about that it's not even worth your time or effort. It only took me 5 hours to finish Campaign mode, and Online mode is far from entertaining after a while. Whenever there were cutscenes, I could barely hear what they were saying, EVEN after adjusting the sound settings. I would not recommend this game if you are a Resident Evil fan. Half of this stuff never even happened in Resident Evil 2. I don't like how nor do I understand why they modified the story like this. This is the last time I buy a new game just because I have been a fan of the franchise. $60 for 5 hours of story? I will never understand. This isn't Call of Duty! If you like to run around and be trigger happy with guns, and don't care about Resident Evil history, then this game is for you.
PRETTY GOOD GAME BUT...
IV ALWAYS BEEN A RESIDENT EVIL FAN SINCE IT CAME OUT IN 1998(& I WAS 8N YRS OLD) SO SEEING AND PLAYING DIS GAME BROUGHT BACK SOME MEMORY. IV PLAYED DA CAMPAIN AND DA MULTIPLAYER AND THERE PRETTY COOL EVEN THOUGH U RUN OUT OF AMMO IT KEEPS UR SUSPENSE UP CUZ U DONT WANT TO DIE AND REMEMBER ALL R.E. GAME MADE U RUN OUT OF AMMO. DA ONLY DIIF. IZ TAT DIS GAME IS A FAST PACE. DA ONLY DING I DONT LIK ABOUT DIS GAME IZ DA LAG ONLINE BUT REMEMBER EVERY GAME ON RELEASE DAY IZ ALWAYS LAGGY. I GIVE DIS GAME 8.5/10 JUST BCUZ OF DA LAG ISSUE.
To my delight this is not or have anything to do with RE 6. Capcom will still suffer because of this.
Average with a chance of good
I pre-ordered the game the instant I heard about it. I actually had the limited edition payed off, but I downgraded to this version just because I had a bad feeling. I wasn't disappointed with the gameplay because I love third person shooters, but I also was far from impressed. The game shows creativity in small doses though to me is seemed like a more realistic left 4 dead, if that is even possible. Resident Evil ORC offers a wide variety of guns and that is where I think the game stands out but the story I really couldn't get into which is upsetting to me because the resident evil series has made a fortune on the storyline. It probably would have been funner if I had some people to play the campaign with. In my honest opinion, I think this game was a quick release before resident evil 6, because there hasn't been a resident evil game released in quite awhile. Now that the game is $20, I would recommend this game to someone because it has a lot to offer for 20$, but anything more then that is pushing it.
What were they thinking
I had so much hope for this game but it's the biggest let down of the decade. The idea is great but it just doesn't follow through. Story is too short and does not make alot of sense in certain parts with the RE storyline. I will not give spoilers.
The game is very glitchy with visual and sound. Your teammates will stand there shooting at walls when your getting swarmed by zombies. Zombies will just stand there facing a wall screaming at you, yet do nothing. the screen glitches and flashes occasionally. You can shoot a zombie with a shotgun in the head and kill him. yet next time it doesn't even hit him point blank. Your team mates will block you in a corner or on stairs and you cant move.
This is a game you should rent first and see from there. it's nothing more then a low budget zombie game they should of just named it rainbow six zombie edition.
I am huge fan of the RE series and i was very let down with this game. it will not stop me from getting RE 6 or other future games. But this game will be going back to gamestop
zombies.... good idea?
I am still waiting until someone comes out with a fallout / skyrim game but with zombies. Everyone loves zombies n loves the show the walking dead. If someone came up with a open world survival zombie game that you could really feel what it would be like to be in a world of zombies it would be Goty, Think you would be in a city/neighborhood and live in other peoples houses at night and need to build up defences cause any night a zombie could try to get in. also you def need to meet ppl online and try to suvive the outbreak. Make it hard not so easy to walk around all the time, scavenge anyones house/business and have real weapons that are used today no made up or future weapons. It would be awsome! Everyone also loves open worlds with a great story. this could be it!!!
