Platforming is back
There is so much charm and character built into this game, it's hard to describe. Everyone's played platformers, so there is no real need to go into the type of game it is, but I will tell you that it is very well done; think new super Mario bros. meets little big planet. The game is gorgeous! Everything is hand drawn and you can tell a lot of work and emotion went into to creating not only the characters, but the worlds around them and even the small effects. This game is best seen in HD, which you wouldn't think becuase it's a cartoon. I paid the extra 10 bucks for the PS3 version over the wii for that reason. The sound is awesome too, the music is very conducive to the gameplay. Upbeat levels will have you tapping you feet and even bopping to the music, while the tougher levels will have you at the edge of your seat! You may die a lot in this game, but it's not frustrating like in most games ( I'm looking at you new super Mario bros.). This does not have online play, but it is a game best enjoyed sitting in the same room as those you're playing with anyway. Do your self a favor and pick this game up! Or at least download the demo and see for yourself.
Hardcore and Casual collide
I have had a wonderful time with Rayman Origins and it is a shame that it has sold so few copies. The more I play it, the more I get addicted to it. I'm a 20 year-old college student and I don't feel guilty playing this Cartoon-styled game. Heck, my sister's 24 year-old boyfriend get giddy to play co-op with me whenever he's over. The visuals are beautiful, the music and Sound are top notch in a funky fun kind of way and the gameplay is tight and flowy. Every part of this game comes together perfectly and I have to say, I hope this sells more copies so we can get another follow up soon. Has a lot of value with ten worlds that will take you probably ten hours to complete, but ther is a lot of stuff to collect and secrets to find if you're a completionist, like myself, which will easily double if not triple that amount of time. Great value. Don't be put of by the fact that its not a 3d game. The amount of value and fun rivals or even surpasses some 3d games on the market right now.
It's a must have.
There are two types of people in the world of gaming. There's the people who play the videogames that are good. And there are the people who only play rated M videogames. I played the demo at the E3 convention in Los Angeles, California. And all I have to say is that when most people see the cover they think, "This is a little kid game." when the truth of the matter is that it's everything but a little kid game. Little kids can try to play it... but the fact is that it's really hard. Oh, and not to mention that the graphics are amazing because they're hand drawn. I've never seen a game with these type of graphics. So I when it comes out in November, I highly recomend it.
Outstanding, and a bargain!!
Who here longs for the days of crazy platforming from SNES and Sega Genesis? Look no further. Picture any 2-D side scrolling platformer from back in the day and imagine it in HD. That's Rayman Origins. Great level design, awesome controls, and really goofy moments. But it's also challenging. And at the price Gamestop currently has it for? 30 bucks??? That's the deal of the Holiday season! Go get it!
I cannot believe that they are bringing back one of my favorite storys from when i was a little kid! i remember playing this series on GC (Rayman arena, Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc) this was one of the wittiest games and always fun games that i have played. I can't wait to see Rayman and Globox again.
Rayman is back!
I'm so happy that ubisoft brought back rayman and not those stupid rabids. When I was three, I played rayman two and beat it a few months later. I was on of the few to play the original rayman games and not the stupid rabids ones. I got so mad and I even sent emails to ubisoft telling them to bring our favorite hero back. I watched the preview and all the memories came flying back. So I'm very excited to get this game and I suggest it to anyone that has the money, along with rayman 2 and 3.
it's about time we got a rayman game where there are none of those rabids that ruined the series run. and this should be fun since it's a 2d platformer. I really want this
Gorgeous Great Platforming Time
This game is beautiful to look at and, most importantly for a platformer, wonderful to control. This game gets quite difficult, but when you die, it is your fault. Unless you have a faulty controller that is. But still, it is a joy to play, the soundtrack is whimsical and weird, it is fun for adult and kids and anyone in between. It has a wonderful local co-op multiplayer that will make you and three other friends hate each other the whole time for messing you up, yet its fun the entire time. This game is very French and weird, but other than Mario, its the best Platformer you'll find around these days. Couldn't recommend it more. Buy it so we can get more of these games.
good multiplayer mood
when u play rayman, the best part in the game is the boss levels, u can have fun battling in multiplayer and have a better chance of winning
A Blast From the Past
I grew up playing the original Rayman and even though it was the hardest game I have ever played and still is, it was fun. This, on the other hand, is like the original times ten. Great graphics, outstanding features, and a great style; these are a few of the many features this games shows greaty.
