PURE is kinda easy
PURE is a great game don't get me wrong but it could have been longer. The challenge is good (especially at the end because it gets harder) the rest of it is pretty easy. The customization is amazing! You have over 60,000 possible combinations to make your ATV stand out. I was a little disappointed when I found out that there was no multiplayer. Also another disappointing thing was that there was no free ride (which would have been perfect for this game). The visuals for the game are amazing by the way. The visuals are the best I have seen for any ATV racing game on the market today. I recommend this game if you like ATVs and if you don't mind not playing with a friend (unless you play online with them). Which reminds me the online is not too bad although there is not much variety for online. Other words I would recommend this game (just buy another game if you buy this on the weekend and you plan on playing it all weekend, because you would more than likely beat it before the weekend is over).
Pure is absolute win!
I traded in a few 360 games of mine, and I decided I would buy a few games for my ps3. The first game that caught my eye was pure. I had read many reviews about it, and really wanted to buy it. I had no idea it would be this great! When I got home I unwrapped it as fast as I could and slapped it in the ps3. The controls on it are great. It's really easy and fast to do whatever you need to do while playing the game. Another plus is the graphics! The detail of the grass, the sky, clouds, mountains, tree, water, dirt and mud is all very realistic; especially the way the grass moves. The riding physics aren't exactly that realistic, but its very close. It makes for a very fun experience on the ps3 console. The challenge of the AI isn't exactly top notch, but they will give you a run for your money if you aren't careful. If you're just looking for one awesome game to play to take a break from all the commotion of the shooters, then this game is for you!
This game disappointed me greatly. Unlike the AVT ORF games, it has no freeride. But it does have good graphics and a very wide selection of vehicle parts and that but it got boring for me after about 2 or 3 hours. Now if your really into racing games then i wouldnt entirely follow my opinoin of the game because im more of an action kinda guy, But im just saying that this game didnt meet my standerds as a fourwheeler racing game. The challenge wasnt that great either, i pretty much smoked everybody in the game because i made my bike standerds all really fast, built for speed and speed only and i won every race. Now you may really like this game but im just putting my opinoin out there that if your not THAT into racing games that this game may be a letdown for you as it was for me. But remember to GET YA GAME ON!!! ;) CYA
This is the best racing game I’ve played in quite some time. The Burnout Paradise Bikes Pack drops today, so I might change my mind, but Pure is certainly a contender for racing game of the year. The graphics are gorgeous, from bikes to the tracks. The vistas are all heavily detailed. Pure eye candy from start to finish, and TRULY next-gen. The tracks are very well designed, with multiple paths and tons of ramps. The jumps are unlike anything I’ve seen in a racing videogame before. The sense of vertigo is something that needs to be experienced by all gamers. The ATVs are all customizable, and the options are quite deep. You can practically modify every single part of your ATV (including the engine) and upgrade as the game progresses. All the parts are from real manufacturers, even though the actual bikes are not licensed. There are many decals and paint designs and just tons of stuff to customize. The instruction manual claims you can have up to 60,000 different combinations. Wow. The trick system is pretty deep and very fun to use. You’ll start w/ 16 different tricks mapped to one face button. You’ll just point the left analog stick in one of 8 directions to nail different tricks, and if you hold left trigger, you’ll open up more moves. When you start landing these basic tricks, you open up bigger tricks, which are mapped to a different face button. Then you’ll just keep opening up more and more tricks. I think each rider (7 total riders unlocked at the beginning) has about 70 moves. As you pull off moves, you’re also filling your boost meter. You have the option to choose a long, less powerful boost, or a short and powerful boost. The boost seems just as fast as the Burnout games. You are literally FLYING in this game. You also have to “charge” your bike prior to making big jumps – similar to the MX vs ATV games. Simply hold the left stick down before the jump, and flick it up when you’re at the top of the jump. There are several different modes, including Race, Sprint, and Freestyle. There are 16 racers on each track, and 16 player online. I could just go on and on, but I’ll spare you. Just buy the game already. I have a feeling this game will be overlooked because it wasn’t promoted well, and because it has the Disney name attached to it. Don’t be fooled. This game is an adrenaline filled blast and is virtually flawless in my opinion. I purchase and/or rent basically every racing game released (sim and arcade), and this is the most fun I’ve had in a while.
After seeing all the trailers for this game pre-release I was excited to get my hands on this game. I can say that I wasn't disappointed in the least. Every aspect of this game seems to be on point. Multiplayer is a blast and the single player is challenging but not impossible. I usually only play shooters and this was a great change of pace. It's not a racing sim like a lot of racing games (think more GRID-esque arcade style play (and graphics!)) making itself accessible to casual gaming. It's made by Disney and is geared mainly towards a younger audience but still refined enough to be fun and compelling (unlockables) for older players. After a chain of disappointing games coming out lately that don't live up to the hype (Mercs 2, anyone?) this has been a welcome change. Worth every penny!
I love this game....well maybe not so much the racing but the atv customization is freaking awesome. They nailed it. I race four wheelers and some of the parts available in the game I have on my atv. I love how you can start with just a frame and put on your own parts. The only thing I wish was different was the racing stlye. I feel like this should have been more like ATV Racing like in MX vs ATV Untamed, not as much fantasy style. I would hope to see another ATV game like this where the customization is from scratch but the racing is actual, supercross, nationals, gncc, and even flat track....Developers should ask me about the next ATV game, I bet my ideas would make one bad azz game. Besides that PURE IS AWESOME. Definately should buy it, it is worth it, in my opinion anyway
much more than motorstorm
i cant beleive some folks think motorstorm is better. yea it has more vehicles but not nearly as much in depth customization. in motorstorm all you do is change the outside appearance of your vehicle, in pure, you can change the tires, struts, springs, shocks, engine, etc. plus you can customize your rider, in motorstorm they just give you a character. not to mention the best thing about pure that seperates it from motorstorm are the stunts, over 70 to pull off. motorstorm 2 looks to be even worse than the first, you race around one big island, that is going to get boring after awhile.
If your into straight up RACING games for atvs, this isnt really it. Pure is all about hitting 300 foot jumps and busting as many tricks as you can. The controls are hard to get used to. You need very good patients to get good at this game. At first your atv is horrible because you need to unlock parts for performance, so that can be kind of annoying. Then at certain times in the world tour the AI makes it seem almost impossible to come in first, and you have to try a lot of times over and over. The graphics are very good, and customizing your quad is the best out there, better than Mx vs. Atv Untamed. Again the controls are kind of tricky but once your used to it their easy. Sound is ok, the engines sound realistic, and you can tell the difference between a two stroke and four. As for the soundtrack, you dont choose what song you want to listen to, and at some points the music is kind of irritating. As for online, its pretty fun. You can do either championships with a certain set of rounds. Highest amount of points at the end wins. So overall, the single player gameplay is pretty challenging, and somewhat long. Theres around 50 events, race, freestyle, and sprint. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys riding or quad games, but not to someone who is looking for realistic racing.
Let it roar!
This game is going to be awesome!!! I was looking at the screen shots and it looks like this game has a lot to offer. It's nice to see another off-road ATV game come into play. I think it will have solid game play, a great control scheme, and host of other features that will make it addictive. Let's hope it's worth its weight in gaming gold. It's also nice to see that MX vs ATV will have some competition. I think it really will be PURE.
Will always be a good racing game...
This game doesn't relate to anything like Gran Turismo, ATV Offroad, Motorstorm or anything like that. It's a really nice game and it's modes are addicting. Race is fine, freestyle is really good, and sprint races are sort of fun. I'm going to explain each and one of them. The Race feature explain the game. You RACE. With a few tweaks like doing stunts and adding fuel to your boost meter (and you can even do MORE stunts with different buttons thought harder to pull off as you gain fuel) and when you fill it up all the way, you can do a super stunt. There's a lot of super stunts for all the characters. Freestyle is set to be about tricks. Do stunts, make sure your meter doesn't drop, collect the gas coins, collect the stunt boost coins, they all help. You try to get the highest score of stunts out of all the players, and packs a great game, also a nice online touch. The sprint races are just races. Except they're shorter. They're good for quick races, and are a little harder than races. Challenging and all fun. The customization in this game is beyond me. You can change almost EVERY part on your ATV. Change the color, make it epic. Though you do need to make more than just one for the type of race you do. They are certain parts for regular race events, parts for freestyle, and parts for sprint races. You can pretty much go and say you might have more fun than you should be. This game was made by DISNEY, which is actually really weird. Though, sooner or later Disney would forget about the game completely and never talk about it again. I also believe the creators of ATV Offroad Fury MADE this game. I don't know if it was Rainbow studios (Creators of 1 & 2) or Climax (Creators of 3 & 4). Very good game and cheap. I still play it today online.
