Rated 8 out of 10 by Zombie Monkey Not your typical Futbol game
You just have to love a game that lets you largely ignore rules and play flat out brutal Futbol (or “football” to non-Spanish speaking football fans). This game is off the hook when it comes to exciting game play. The controls can be a little touchy at first, you need to take some time to learn the ropes. Despite the slightly awkward learning curve though, you’ll have fun early on and it gets way better in later stages. At first the goal keeping is a little too easy to beat, but this is probably to ease you into the game play, especially considering how good the goal keeping gets as you move farther along in the game. With loads of things to tweak and lots of players and teams to play as, this is a very rich experience. A couple points off for the learning curve and some graphical issues (nothing too bad, just the occasional tearing), plus being a niche game makes it tough to score, but I give it a high 8. Too bad ebGames doesn’t allow for points in the score or I’d give this an 8.8 or 8.9, it’s not quite a 9 but almost there.
Rated 9 out of 10 DIfferent, But still fun
Ill admit, the only reason i got this game was because it came free with my PS3. I wasn't expecting much, but its actually a really fun game. The graphics are impressive and the gameplay includes a 30 day campaign in which you create a character and play todays football stars. As for lasting game play, you can play any teams you want at any time you want and keep changing your roster so it never really gets old. The only problems i had with it is the online play. It has a small lag between when you press the button and when the player reacts. Nothing huge, its still fun. if you can find someone to play with that is. its almost impossible to match with someone. and their isnt much sound. no commentary or soundtrack. the occasional player will yell something like "im open" or something. but overall its a good game and if you like football games you should buy this. good buy for the price.
Rated 8 out of 10 by The Lone Gman Don't trust the reviews!
Don't trust all the horrible reviews on this game. This game maynot be the deepest soccer game out there but it has a high fun factor! I wasn't going to get it after reading the reviews from metacritic, but after looking at some youtube videos I got it anyway. I'm glad I did. If you like arcade style sports games this will be a good choice. Take it from me, Big G, get the game, get it now.
Rated 8 out of 10 by PiLo2 Pure has a new meaning
As long as you consider my title true, this game is a lot of fun. Ubisoft's first ever attempt at creating a soccer game has almost struck the right note but not strongly enough to produce a clear sounding note. Almost all the reviews I read on the internet have bashed this game to the core. I still decided to give it a try and being the kind of casual gamer I am, new to console (from PC), I find it hard to not play this game when I have some time to entertain myself, and have to pick from the 15 best titles I have for PS3 (exclusives). This is NOT a simulation, far from it, actually. This is arcade-come-simulation of soccer with some fun. There are no off-sides, no free-kicks (except penalties and corners), there is no referee, and there are 5 players on each side competing on a smaller arena; but the penalty system is entertaining, somewhat forgiving, scoring goals is satisfying (except the poor AI goalie displays sometimes), sprints in the game play are energetic, corner and "pure" kick slow motion is amusing (except the not very accurate lob passes and instant touch like Fifa). But this is NOT Fifa. This is Pure Futbol. Pure surely has a new meaning here. If you are bored of the same old simulation wars between PES and FIFA and need a breath of fresh air, Pure is for you for 7 dollars. I have some issues connecting to multiplayer mode so can't say if anyone is playing on the server, but online mode does look fun and so does custom player and team building and the campaign mode. Not sure why Ubisoft dropped this game like a hot potato instead of coming up with a couple of patches to improve the passing system in accuracy, and goalie's AI - but they are not deal breakers. Get Pure.
