Power Gig: Rise of the SixString Band Kit
I can not understand why every review for this game ends up being a 1 or a 2. I have read them all from ebgames and it seems like most people are one sided either because they preffer guitar hero or rock band or because they did not play this long enugh to have a realistic oppinion. Ya this game is not easy to play, but it really does give you basics, it teaches you SLOWLY how to play a real guitar. I have had rock band and guitar hero and i can say without a doubt i had more fun playing this game the past few days then i have had playing either of those. So if you dont know what you are talking about ( like the fret guy who is confused about what numbers mean) then dont write reviews. I strongly recomend trying this out, it is not for everyone but because you are imatient or simply slow dont give it a bad rating, this really is a good game. And for those that bought this because it can connect to an amp: WTF??? its a game, you want good sound out of a guitar? Then go buy an actual guitar. This is a learning tool which in my oppinion works really well.
Real Guitars FTW
I love the ability to actually strum the strings. A lot of people for some reason are giving this game a hard time, when in truth, it is better than Guitar Hero by a mile and then maybe about equal with Rock Band 3, but its better than all other Rock Bands. The new system with real guitars makes this a much better experience to play and have fun with, it was a very innovative idea. I look forward to see more Power Gig games, hopefully this isn't the last, seeing how it was also the first.
The stringed guitar controller is a great idea... most definitely the next step to these games over the "rhythm" games the past ones have been. So you go for realism with the guitar and do the opposite with respect to drums? That doesn't seem to make sense. I agree that it will be hard for this game to do well coming out so close to RB3 and its built-in customer base. I guess we'll see...
With Rock Band 3 coming out, I can't see this game doing well. Since RB 3 essentially offers the same thing but with Harmonix many years of music-game development, we just know RB 3 will be superior, not to mention that this game doesn't have a keyboard, and RB 3 does. The graphics in this game look bad, similar to Rock Revolution, which we all know was a complete failure. I don't hope this game does bad, but with RB 3 coming out, I can't see it doing too well.
This game has pretty good gameplay with the instruments that it comes with. It comes with it's own instruments that is great for groups to play on. The instruments play more like the real instruments than the game Rock Band. So, it's fun but a bit more challenging because it's more like the real thing. Like the guitar it comes with has strings you strum instead of just colorful buttons you press. This game is great if you want a more realalistic feeling of playing in a band. Great to play with friends.
What happens when the strings snap? Will you be able to purchase new ones? Do you get a life supply of them? How does this work?
i have no idea how this is going to work but if it is a success can they add bass to it because im learnin the bass right now
